Tribal Chick

Hi there guys!!! Happy Easter (to you all you celebrators, hoping that's a word)!! I totally would've done more Easter designs but it totally passed my mind. And I enjoy the Easter conventions, the cute animals and the pastel colours, but hey I can do that another time. Hope you are enjoying today though, it's a special one :) Manicure inspiration comes from Easter eggs looking somewhat like tribal designs (the key word being somewhat) and of course a baby chick. Ain't my title clever? :P

I'm really happy with how it all turned out, especially the middle and thumb designs. I used generic tribal designs, I'm not so great with coming up with them. In real life the middle design is actually really bling, which I'm not usually a fan of but this time it's cool. The colour combination of my thumb reminds me of HARE Magic Mist (I've been stalking too many indie polishes) and I need to use the combination more. And we all know I love all things cute so the chick is good in my books.

For my thumb the glitter is Models Own - Freak Out!, the pink is Orly - Basket Case and the orange is Essie - Fear Or Desire.
Index finger the glitter is Barry M - Superdrug Xmas LE 2012 B, the peach is Essie - Tart Deco and the blue is Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream.
The glitter used for my middle finger is Barry M - Silver Glitter and Barry M - Hologram Hexograms. The pink is OPI - Charged Up Cherry and the green is Topshop - Green Room (over white).
For the chick, the orange is Essie - Fear Or Desire, the white is Models Own - Snow White and China Glaze - Luxe and Lush (which looks awesome over white) and the other white is Lovely Me:Ex - White.
Finally for my pinky OPI - Rainbow Connection (I really like Rainbow Connection over the pale pink) is the glitter, the red is Essie - E-Nuff Is E-Nuff and the blue is Revlon - Dreamer.
Of course I did all the details with Lovely Me:Ex - Black.

Got a right hand picture, the painting is not too shabby. The chick is arguably cuter here.
The beginning of the manicure, I don't normally do these pictures but I really liked the pastelness of it. The purple is Barry M - Berry Ice Cream, the blue is The Face Shop - GR501, the green is China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint, the yellow is w7 - Sheer Lemon and the pink is Barry M - Strawberry Ice Cream. I originally thought of doing a pastel tribal design which obviously isn't impossible but it just didn't turn out that way (also some of my pastel polishes aren't opaque enough).

Thank you very much for reading this rambly post (maybe you enjoyed it?) and have a wonderful day!! :)

Cabbie! (with some doodles)

Hi there guys! Hope everyone is happy today, as why not we all deserve to be :) Now from the title you may be thinking "Cabbie? What is that, taxi driver nail art?". That is where you're probably mistaken :P I have an obsession with the show Victorious (I'm a big kid, that is also literal), and Cabbie is the sole reason why I LOVE that show. The other couples hold no candles compared to Cabbie. Cabbie is Cat and Robbie, and yeah hopeless romantic here but they are SO CUTE. I can't cope. I don't think my nail art does them justice but it's not too bad it's quite cute.

The red cat with the glasses is the main focus point here. A cat cause of Cat, red cause of her hair and the glasses for Robbie's glasses. Pink and blue also seem to their colours, I could've done more Victorious stuff in this manicure but I was tired :( So I added some random doodles which I ended up quite liking. I put topcoat over the cat and that got messed up (clearly I'm doing something wrong) but I fixed it up, also I didn't like the cat in real life but in pictures it looks way better and I'll take it.
Pink: The Face Shop - PK501
Foil Pink: Barry M - Pink Foil (Boots Xmas LE 2012 B)
Blue: Essie - Bikini So Teeny
Light Blue: The Face Shop - BL601
Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
Pk105 looked brighter this time I had it on which is always good in my books. Bikini So Teeny was also showing it's shimmer! I did like the way the pinks and blues went together.

I wanted Cabbie together since the 4th episode of Victorious, "The Birthweek Song" when Robbie invites Cat to his grandmother's house. Clearly my favourite episode with them (ok there are a few) is "One Thousand Berry Balls", I cry tears of cuteness. The sad thing is Victorious got cancelled so Cabbie will never officially be together :'( That really was the only thing I cared about in the show, at least finish the season properly before cancelling it :'( I hate when TV programmes do that, end a show without a proper ending. But One Thousand Berry Balls will have to do :/

Thank you very much for reading about my (potentially creepy to you) Victorious obsession :P Have a great day!

Geometric Diamonds (if spiders liked geometry)

Hi there!! How are you all, I'm hoping good. During the holidays I never know what to do, as much as I love the holidays (soon when my proper exams begin holidays will cease to exist D:) I sit around wondering what to do. But currently I'm thirsty, after this post I'm gonna get a drink :P Today I have some rather random nail art, I did some glitter gradients then drew something on top. I really don't know, they weirdly remind of diamonds (strange diamonds) or if spiders made geometric webs.

This is probably the kind of design that would grow on me. just looks... strange (but kind of cool). I like the uniformity of the index finger. I want to experiment with the pattern for another time. I'm surprised with how much I like the purple gradient, Shambolic really works in this case.
Purple: Essie - Lilacism
Pink: OPI - Charged Up Cherry
Purple Glitter (lightest to darkest): Nails Inc - Abbey Road, China Glaze - Luxe and Lush and Butter LONDON - Shambolic
Pink Glitter (lightest to darkest): OPI - I Lily Love You and OPI - Excuse Moi!
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Charged Up Cherry is really red in the pictures, and in all honesty really red in real life too, I'm not too keen on that.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day! :)

Disco Bows

Hi there guys. The "story" continues, I still cannot look outside as the snow is actually blinding now. Well maybe not blinding, but it really hurt my eyes. There was my mother wearing sunglasses in the snow when we were going out. I don't know why these are "disco" bows, but they're cute.

I have been in the mood for bows, AND THEY ARE SO CUTE. But really, I need to paint more bows on cute animals and food (potentially). Colour combination is an important thing too, and I like it.
Pink: H&M - Check Me Out
Yellow: Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White (as a base for the yellow): Models Own - Snow White
The formula for Check Me Out (2 coats) and Blueberry Ice Cream (1 coat) were great, Lemon Ice Cream not so much but it's still a good yellow (3 coats).

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!! :)

Ikat Heart Nail Art

Hello there lovely people. I can no longer look outside as light reflects off the snow and it's extremely bright :P I'm so happy with today's manicure, it's really cute. I've attempted these before though and they ended in utter failure. I mentioned this in a previous post that I had a nail fail that I was really annoyed about. Well that was it, but this time it did not fail. I took inspiration from Bad Luck Barbie cause it's a lovely manicure she did.

Though I much prefer long nails, designs look cute on shorter nails. I like the ikat print in general, it's more "rough", so I'm a fan of this. I just think it's really cute, and I love all things cute. The lil' hearts, ok I think it's cute, we get it :P I also love that black and white glitter. Oh and I love pink too.
Pink: Orly - Basket Case
Light Pink: Barry M - Strawberry Ice Cream
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Models Own - Snow White
Black and white glitter: L'Oreal Color Riche  - Confetti
Strawberry Ice Cream is extremely difficult to use, it's been that way for a while but it hasn't improved. It's very very gloopy (I have had it for a while though), getting a coat on the nail is really hard. But it's my only pale pink so I work with it. I used 3 coats and had bubbles, could have been due to thick coats but there was no other way to get the polish to work. Another thing to mention is that even though Confetti is awesome, it's really difficult to remove, of course there's the tin foil method, but if you're not using that it's hard.

In other news I have watched 3 films in 2 days. And I can't cope, I am such a hopeless romantic (works with the hearts in the manicure). I love chick flicks, even though it's pretty much the same every time, I LOVE it every time. There was Sky High yesterday, which is SO CUTE that I couldn't handle it. It was also quite a quirky film which is my thing. There were superheroes and they incorporated the pop art style and I love that. I watched Toy Story 3 today and that is one great film, Pixar can do no wrong. Finally this evening I watched Miss Congeniality, and yeah I love chick flicks and it was wonderful. I was in a chick flick mood tonight, it's when the girl and the guy get together I feel like crying cause it's all so cute :') Sorry that was on my mind and I love movies, I need more.

Thank you very much for reading (and if you read my movie rave, good on you) and have a wonderful day!!! :)

Spring polka dots and roses

Hey there guys!!! Enjoying your weekend? I hope so :) I decided to have a relaxing day today (I always tell myself in the morning I'm going to work but it never happens :P). Sometimes I feel really unproductive during these days but when you tell yourself what's gonna happen you feel way better :P I called these "Spring" polka dots and roses just to differentiate from all the other polka dot and rose designs I've done.

More floral and I'm quite happy with the roses, better than the usual. I tried to use more shimmery colours due to the orange. I like the placement of the roses. I'm not a big fan of the colour combination, I think it could've been better. But floral nails are pretty and it's good to have a change.
Blue: The Face Shop - GR501
Orange: Chili Pepper - Orange (no name) and Barry M - Pink Iridescent
Pink: Essie - Your Hut Or Mine?
Darker Pink: Per Una - Fuchsia (no name)
Green: OPI - Jade Is The New Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
I've had that orange polish for over a year and I've never used it properly which is why I had to try it. I used 3 coats, it's nice, but not for this design.

Thank you for reading and have a great day!! :)

Black V-Gap + Floral

Hey there guys!!! I had no school today :D Why? Cause of the snow, yes you read that right, the snow, in the middle of March, and trust me it's heavy. In all honestly I am kind of feeling like that nerd kid who wanted to go into school cause I was meant to have a big spanish assessment today and I actually learnt it and now I'll have to wait 2 weeks before I can do it. Whatever, it doesn't matter, oh well (get the song reference?), now I'm on holiday oh yeah. Unfortunately it will be filled with revision but whatever, it doesn't matter etc. ;) Though the weather is not feeling springy, my nails are. I don't tend to do floral patterns but I was inspired.

It looks better this way round. I have to say I've warmed to this design from when I originally finished the design. As you can probably tell I'm not very good at painting roses but the occasional one turned out ok. I'm surprised with how much I like the "V-gap", it's pretty cool. I used tape but then freehanded if the V wasn't right. I really like the colour combination too.
Mint Green: China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint
Black: Rimmel - Black Pearl
Peach: w7 - Linen and w7 - Sheer Peach
Orange/Peach: Essie - Tart Deco
Dark Green: OPI - Jade Is The New Black
Black Pearl has a pretty shimmer to it, it's very opaque, I should use it more for nail art.

The design is unlike me but I quite like it, floral = appropriate for spring. I'm going to work on my flowers, I see everyone with their absolutely perfect floral nail art and there's mine that's messed up. Haha I don't mind :P Cute cartoons are more my thing.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!!! :)

Magical Fast Food

Hi there lovely people!! I'm back, I feel like I've been gone for a long time though I know I haven't. I was away on a trip with my family, mostly to go to a charity event. And these are the nails I had for the event, thinking about it now I should've matched my nails to my dress (I will do that though), but I've never been one to match (as you could probably tell :P).

How is fast food magical? It's not really (well it should be as it tastes so damn good ;)), but I'm referring to the holographic glitter, aka my love. I clearly am obsessed with these food designs (once again you can probably tell) and I won't be stopping anytime soon. I love burgers and I especially love fries (don't even get me started), this design is me. Unfortunately the pictures aren't too colour accurate, I took pictures in a restaurant and yes, I was that weird kid who takes pictures of their nails in a restaurant.
Purple: Essie - Lilacism
Blue: Essie - Bikini So Teeny
Light Brown: Nails Inc - Porchester Square
Green: Illamasqua - Nomad
Brown: w7 - Brownie
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Pink: Orly - Basket Case
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White and Models Own - Snow White
As always I freehanded this, for future reference I freehand everything I do, when I don't freehand it's pretty clear otherwise. I also sewed an iPod case with the burger and fries (maybe I'll show a picture one day), I sewed for 7 hours, dedicated to the cause. I have properly betrayed Dreamer by using Bikini So Teeny under Razzmatazz but Dreamer had it's time (:P), but it's not forgotten!!

As hopefully we all know Google Reader is going down (kind of a bummer), I didn't realise what this meant for me til recently, I will be finding some other means of following me (for people in the future :P). Unfortunately that requires being good with the internet, for some this is easy business, haha not me I swear I am illiterate with the internet. But I will be sorting that out soon, I probably won't be posting so much over the next couple of days as work is piling up and bringing me down. But once it's sorted I'll be back to painting and my blog :D

Thank you very much for reading and have a lovely day!! :)

Pink + Black Triangles

Hi there!!! The long week is over once again, darn school for giving me a gazillion homeworks and tests but I'll freak out about that later -_- I've been in a very triangular mood (you can feel triangular too!!!), so I freehanded some triangles once again. You can't go wrong with triangles :P

They're kind of like black Doritos, or ones that are severely out of date. Sometimes the design looked really cool, other times not so much. It looks nice in the pictures so I'll take it ;)
Pink: The Face Shop - PK105 with OPI - Excuse Moi!
Black: Topshop - Gypsy Night and Rimmel - Black Pearl
I also made this matte and Excuse Moi! looks cool matte.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!! :)

Primary Triangles + Glitter + Cupcake = LOVE

Hi there guys!!! Hope you all had a wonderful day, cause I pretty much had a wonderful day and I hope for people to feel the same!!! Today's nail art design, is very very me. Every element is something I love, there's geometric, glitter and of course some cute food.

I love the colour combination of red, yellow, green and blue. Oh my, it kind of reminded me of those fun banners you hang up at street parties or something. I was unaware that the triangles were inspired by an idea I have for a nail polish line (currently a distant dream :P). When I do geometric patterns I tend to only do triangles :/ I love triangles ok. I wanted a nude base and I actually really like the way it looks, the glitter looks awesome over the nude. I need to incorporate cute food into EVERYTHING I do, it was meant to be ice cream but I was like "That's familiar", so cupcake it was.
Nude: w7 - Linen ( has a great formula, you could totally get away with 1 coat. I did 2 of course)
Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Green: Illamasqua - Nomad
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
(Awesome) Glitter: Barry M - Superdrug Xmas Limited Edition 2012 B
I was also in the mood for matte nails (it's been too long), so that's what I did. I was careful in case of smudging (my nail art bane of existence) and thankfully it turned out right :)

Thank you very much for reading and have a wonderful day!!! :)

Pink/Green Leopard + Teal Accent

Hey guys, I don't know what to name this post. The current title will do. But I have already used up my 2nd leopard of the month, no saving it for later, leopard is happening now. I didn't know what to do and that always leads to leopard. I should be better prepared.

I didn't like it when I first finished, but it grew on me. I love multi-coloured spots. Thankfully the colour combination worked in the end. I wanted to use those 2 glitter, and so I did even if at first they didn't look right.
Blue: Revlon - Blue Lagoon and OPI - Last Friday Night
Pale Green: China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint
Green: Illamasqua - Nomad
Pink: No7 - Me! Me! Me!
Teal Glitter: Barry M - Aqua Glitter
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Aqua Glitter is an absolutely lovely colour, but I should have used it over a darker base as it took loads for coats for opaqueness. Last Friday Night also seemed to look nicer with time, or maybe it's just me :P

Thank you for reading and have a nice day!!! :)

Peachy Cherry Blossoms

Hi there guys!!! Sorry to talk about the weather more, but it was sunny and snowing at the same time today and that was just wrong. Come on it's March, snow go away and unfortunately it's absolutely freezing today as well. These nails are actually appropriate for spring, clearly I do not care about such things as I wear bright colours the whole year round, but it's nice to be appropriate.

I surprised with how much I love the design, it's so pretty and elegant. I think peach is a surprisingly good background for cherry blossoms, I much prefer this cherry blossom compared to my last one, it just looks nicer.
Peach: Essie - Tart Deco
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
Pink: Orly - Basket Case
I love Tart Deco, this shouldn't be a surprise (it was in my favourites) it's just such a fabulous colour (I never use the word fabulous in real life) and it was 2 easy coats (you girls with your shorts nails could totally get away with 1).

Thank you very much for reading and have a lovely day!!! :)

Freak Out! Stars

Hi there guys!!! I hope you're enjoying this fine Sunday evening, which will hopefully lead into a wonderful new week.

This post should also be titled "How nail fails can be saved", cause really. It was bad. I had an idea to do a glitter gradient "inspired" by Models Own - Freak Out!, but I think I was too lazy to do that and I just told myself, don't just put Freak Out! over plain nails. You can probably guess what I did, we all know I can't listen to myself.
It escalated to the point where I jelly sandwiched the mani and it was bad, very bad. I'm not going to describe how bad it looked cause it was bad. I gave myself a rule not to jelly with a different base and jelly colour. ...Um...Yeah...I did that. But I'm glad I didn't freak out (I'm a clever one aren't I :P) and give up, cause I really love this nail art.

I don't know why I don't do more stars cause I love stars. I freehanded those bad boys (literally have never used that phrase before in my entire life), and I'm so happy with how they turned out. It's really the colour scheme I love, it's "inspired" by Freak Out!. I think this is such a party manicure, ok maybe more kids party manicure but I love that vibe.
Base: OPI - Plum And Get It, Models Own - Freak Out! and No7 - Snowflake (DON'T DO IT, PLEASE)
Purple: OPI - Plum And Get It
Light Purple: Barry M - Berry Ice Cream
Blue: Nails Inc - Baker Street
Pale Blue: The Face Shop - GR501
Pink: Per Una - Fuchsia (no name)
I like Freak Out! but I don't love it, I show it here a lot but that doesn't mean I love it. I find the formula a bit tricky, everything migrates to the tips. I also don't like shards (they poke out and annoy me) and it smells really bad. But it's nice enough that I use it, no where near being a favourite though.

Had to edit out a wee bit of a cut, but it's still ok :)
Moral of the story: Don't jelly with a different colour to the base, and always persist after a nail fail cause it could turn out right!!

Thank you very much for reading and have a lovely day!!!! :)

Purple Nails: OPI - Plum And Get It

Hi there guys!! I hope you weekend is treating you well. I followed my purple impulse and used this polish. It was a gift from my best friend (I have mentioned this before), she is such a generous girl and basically I love her, she's amaze (sorry if this phrase annoys you :P) and I'm really glad I have her as my best friend. Mushy moment but I have to thank her!! I mentioned a thousand times before that purple doesn't suit me but it really doesn't stop me.

It's a lovely colour, except I wouldn't describe it as plum (I haven't mentioned this before but I HATE PLUM) more a dark purple and it has a nice subtle shimmer to it. I used 3 coats, you could definitely do 2 and why I did 3 is a mystery. It's streaky on the 1st coat but after everything is fine. I don't know what collection this is from (:/ my professionalism coming into play) but research will happen. It's my favourite dark purple (ok I don't own any other dark purples but it makes this more special) and though it doesn't suit me it still looks nice.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day!!! :)

Friday 8 March 2013

Jellybeans!

Hello there everyone!!! The long week is over and hopefully it will lead to a better next week :P I remember I was in a purple mood, so therefore I painted my nails blue and silver (I am full of sense). I'm back to not knowing what to do with my nails, I wanted some cute faces (as I always do) so blobs happened, and I now I pretend they're jellybeans :P

They're not jellybeans but I kept referring to them as jellybeans so that's what I'm going with. Ok it didn't turn out the way I wanted (-_-) but they are still pretty cute. I love the colour combination of red, yellow, green and blue and this is a more toned down version of the scheme. The beans are something you would see on pyjama bottoms, and it looks pretty funky. I kind of wished I had done a full manicure, but I'm thinking of experimenting with this design with different colours (and as a full manicure).
Blue: Essie - Bikini So Teeny
Silver: w7 - Silver Mirror (borrowed from my sister) and Nails Inc - Abbey Road
Red: Essie - E-Nuff Is E-Nuff
Yellow: Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream
Green: Illamasqua - Nomad
Pink: No7 - Me! Me! Me!
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White and Models Own - Snow White
The holographic sparkle is not showing up at all in the pictures but it's pretty and subtle in real life. Lemon Ice Cream looked extremely dull and I put it over white, I'm not annoyed just confused.

Thank you very much for reading and have a lovely day!! :)

"Patriotic" Glitter Leopard Print

Hey there guys!!! I hope you are good this week, my mood changes with the weather apparently as I was feeling awesome last week. But this week the weather got really crummy and I'm feeling not too great. But I feel good about this post? ;) This was not intended to be patriotic, and I don't even know patriotic to what country. I guess Britain but the gradient looks like a french flag. I decided I didn't like it plain so I spruced it up with some leopard print (as always, 1 leopard from the limit used).

I wanted to the glitter gradient to be inspired by the Barry M Xmas glitter (it's one awesome glitter), but then french flag happened and I wasn't too keen :P But of course after the leopard print I quite liked it. I also did sporadic leopard spots, again I quite like that too.
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Dark Blue: Kiko - 265
White: Models Own - Snow White
Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips
Red/Blue/Silver Glitter: Barry M - Superdrug Xmas LE 2012 B
Green/Blue Glitter: Orly - Go Deeper
Go Deeper looks awesome over a dark colour, it's the way forward. I wasn't sure if the leopard print could fix the design for me but it did (I should never doubt leopard print, ever).

Thank you for reading and have an awesome day!!! :P

Pick 'N Mix: Geometric + Glitter

Hey there guys!!! I decided to start a new series (I love making up series, not gonna lie), because why not? ;) I'm making these pick 'n mix posts random skittles that really are just random. I was inspired by someone's schoolbag I saw and I thought the pattern looked really cool, I saw the brand and looked it up. I wasn't creepy and didn't take a picture or anything, kind of awkward now though cause I asked to take a picture of someone else's bag for nail art inspiration. She understood but more on that in the future :/ Then everything stopped fitting together and I rolled with it.

The bag was from a brand called Mi-Pac and the bags look nice but the triangle one is really the only one with substance (from the range I saw). I changed things up a bit then the glitter happened and everything went crazy. There were several points where I really disliked this design but it's good how small things can fix up a design for you. It just shows you shouldn't give up!!! I'm gonna write more about the "glitter gradient" nail tomorrow, where I have a different design with it. The geometric design isn't as nice as I'd like it to be but even though everything is so mix matched here I still quite like it, everything doesn't have to go together ;)
Green: Barry M - Mint Green
Pink: The Face Shop - PK105
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White and Models Own - Snow White
Dark Green: OPI - Jade Is The New Black
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Light Blue: Revlon - Blue Lagoon
Dark Blue: Kiko - 265
Yellow: Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream
Green/Blue Glitter: Orly - Go Deeper
Red/White/Blue Glitter: Barry M - Superdrug Xmas LE 2012 B
Sometimes a bit of mish mash is a good thing. I think this looks better in real life, you can see the mistakes clearer :P

Thank you for reading and have a great day!!! :)

Green Nails: China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint

Hey there!!! Hope you are all feeling terrific, school hasn't been so great as of late (see mah mad rhymes? :P) but I live in hope. Today I have the very first China Glaze I ever bought, I remember having not the greatest week or so and then receiving this polish and feeling way better (the impacts of nail polish on me) ;)

I'd love to write super in depth about this polish but this has been sitting in my vault for a while and I can't remember, hopefully I can remember enough about this polish :P It's a pretty mint green, very light, lighter than what I expected probably a reason it's not a favourite polish of mine (I still like it). It's very opaque, you could probably do 1 coat but me being me I had to do 2. It's a good creme polish to own, great for nail art. It's slightly more green than in my picture. Re-Fresh Mint is from the 2010 Up and Away Collection, I am not well versed in China Glaze collections, I like China Glaze but since it's not readily available to me I can't be excited as I want to about China Glaze ('tis sad :P).

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!!! :)

Rainbow Paisley Print

Hey there guys!!! This post is very much inspired by One Nail To Rule Them All, I love reading her nail art posts (she's super talented) and she loves matte nails (she clearly understands me ;)). I was never really into the paisley print until Alice did one certain paisley print which I thought was gorgeous. Then a couple of days ago she put up a tutorial and I was like "I know what I'm going to do with my nails". So that's what I did :)

I personally think it looks cooler in real life and from a distance. Oh man it looks cool from a distance. Alice's looks more delicate and better in general but I still like it :) My gradient was a fail (as the majority of my gradients go), I actually owned 3 out of the 4 polishes she used so I thought to use them too. But my gradient failed, I really liked how the paisley print covered over the fail though. It is simpler than it looks but it took me a long time (maybe I'm just slow).

But I love the colour combination, and it really makes me realise how awesome gradients are. I really want to do more (but that's bad for me as my gradients fail). Of course I had to add some black and white glitter into the mix and that looks really nice (I've seen that on other blogs before). I really like how complex the print looks and in general I think it's really pretty :)
Orange/Peach: Essie - Tart Deco
Yellow: Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream
Green: China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint
Blue: Blueberry Ice Cream
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Silver Glitter: Revlon - Belle (to seal in the gradient or whatever)
Black/White Glitter: L'Oreal Color Riche - Confetti
Blueberry Ice Cream and Re-Fresh Mint are really pigmented polishes, Lemon Ice Cream not so much. When came to gradienting (not a word) I begun with the sponge and did that. But as the gradient failed more I began to just dab with the brush of the nail polish and then sponge to make slightly less failure.

My camera was having difficulties with capturing the colours so I busted out the unnatural lighting, not too shabby if I say so myself ;)

Thank you very much for reading and have a lovely day!!!! :)

Gimme Glitter: L'Oreal Color Riche - Confetti

Hi there guys!!! Happy March, this isn't scientifically proven but I'm pretty sure I'm in the best moods in spring, as I have already mentioned the weather has been so good and I really can't get over it. My horrible english essay is over and I can be happy again :D

Ok this post is special, I have already deemed it as that. Ok well anyone who hasn't fallen in love with black and white glitter clearly hasn't seen Chalkboard Nails's black and white glitter comparison post. I cry tears of joy when I read that post, it's so beautiful. So for a long time I had been planning which one to get (I wasn't going to get it anytime soon as I am yet to dip my toes into indie waters) and then SHABOOM I find out about Confetti and everything changes (oh my goodness I am so dramatic). I thought my eyes were deceiving me "What a mainstream brand doing a black and white glitter?" (I know other brands have done it but I mean one that I could easily get). So I ran and got it (not literally).

I knew when I first used a black and white I would put it over pink, I am a pink girl and from other swatches I knew it would look nice. Oh man I can't describe my feelings about this it looks so awesome, like spattered but even better. The black and white glitter hole in my nail polish heart has been filled :P

I put this over Nails Inc - Notting Hill Gate (it's a really bright neon pink, I can never get it to photograph to properly but seriously my editing skillz were actually a thing today), I had to use a white base (Models Own - Snow White and Gorgeous - French Manicure White) and one thick coat of pink over. The L'Oreal bottle is really small, just saying, it's 5ml. It consists of small and medium hex black and white matte glitter, it also has a faint shimmer which I'm glad you can't really see as it would take away from the glitter. LOVE, I need to use this forever.

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!!! :D
