Nautical Sailboat and Anchor Nails

Hello there guys!! I hope you've made it well through the week. Back to all the craziness of life is hectic as you'd imagine. I've been making time for nail art as I had none last year and since I have more free periods this year it seems to be helping (for now at least, this is not going to last).
I have a cute design today, I love nautical designs and I haven't done anything like this before. It's no ground-breaking design but I like the simplicity and the print style.

So we have anchors and sailboats, I think they're uniform enough. I was proud of the freehnad straight line on my thumb but everyone thought I was making some kind of Pepsi reference. Which is actually a fair point as my friend actually had a picture of Pepsi and it was worryingly similar. I know the design got a bit smudged but I still like it as it's cute and I love that colour scheme (that's all it takes for me to like a design).

I freehanded the anchors and boats, I had to touch them up a lot, getting the black outline was much harder than it looked. It was so uneven. Touching up alone took an age. I know you probably didn't notice but yes my pinky chipped before taking pictures and I moved on to a new design so we all have to deal with a chip :/ Like it's small enough that it doesn't bother me haha.

Overlapping Hearts and Fishtails

Hey there guys, I have a design today that was inspired by Chalkboard Nails cause I was not inspired. I think she's back on her game cause I have to say for a long time I felt like the nail art wasn't happening or it just wasn't special. But she's definitely back for the challenge this month. So I think this is a more sophisticated design, well at least compared to what I normally do.

My favourite part is the overlapping hearts, I can't believe I've never done that before. The heart outline works so well with it and I like the colour scheme. It's all very uniform which I like.

I used toothpicks for all the hearts and used the brushes for the chevrons. I fixed them with toothpicks though, cause girl can't always do perfect freehand chevrons.

Chubby Owls with their Zig-Zag Chevron Eggs

Haha hello there!! My title is so hilarious but a friend gave me some insight on this design so we are rolling with it. As you can guess it's another nail art day and these are my favourite. Oh yeah forgot to tell you that I've now swatched everything. There's me making a big deal counting down and then when it happens I forgot to say. Very standard me. So all days will be nail art days til I get more polish (who knows when that'll happen, I mean really).
Just wanted to say I've been rocking to some Latin jazz while editing and it's been great, also since I haven't been playing the piano as much and I have more free time in school I have more nail time. Being real this'll probably end cause I have serious things to get back to but it's nice while it lasts.

Aw chubby owls are cute and I like the colour scheme. Gradient chevrons are v fun too. I was going to paint something on my thumb but then I liked it without cause that polish is really pretty. I think th design works well, like pink, blue and green are great. The egg idea is sweet too.

I used the brush of the nail polish quite a bit, like for the blue and the zig-zags then I went in with the toothpicks for all the other details. I wasn't really fussed about proportioning here cause it's meant to be cartoony.

Cool-Toned 3D Cube Nails

Hey there!! I hope you're doing well today and things are working out somewhat ok, especially you hilarious people doing the 31 Day Challenge, I just don't see how anyone has any time?? I have none, I can barely paint my nails once a week let alone 7. Oh the days when I had the time, and still I didn't complete in 31 days. I did this design when school was starting again so when I felt depressed at least I had cool nails. Matteing this was a mistake though, the colours dulled and my matte topcoat is adding white specks that are not easy to remove (at all).

So ignoring the flaws I pointed out in my intro I really like this design, 3D cubes always look cool. I love the colour scheme too. Also the fact it isn't a full design made it mad spiky the other way round and I really really like that.

I did the black outline and then filled in the spaces, it was very easy to go over the lines so I had to redo things so much. I just went one colour at a time so it was very random. But I like the outcome, I don't think any colour dominates.

Blue: Models Own - Asscher Blue
Black: Rimmel - Black Pearl and Ciate - Chalkboard Paint
Darker Blue: Barry M - Malibu
Mint Green: Barry M - Pole Position

Who's That Pokémon? Skitty!

Hello there everyone!! I hope you're doing well. School is back in swing but I'm coping (just about haha), applying to university is coming so soon which is insane, what is happening??
Anyway today's nail art brings us back to fun times and my new Pokemon obsession, I'm trying to fill the Pokedex right now and it's quite the task. I've been addicted to wondertrading (I can trade for hours at a time), I guess I just like the possibly of getting something good i.e. I've got 9 shinies from Wondertrade so this is what keeps me going back. I don't think you can get Skitty in Pokemon X but I got one in Wondertrade and it's just ADORABLE!! So that's why I had to paint Skitty.

It's such a cute little pink and yellow cat with that crazy tail. I did not do Skitty justice at all!! She's SO much cuter. But that being said I still like it and I really liked the design. Purple and pink is great and you can never go wrong with glitter (I always say this, you totally can but shhh) and the added flakies work so well.

I painted the white base first and then went colours then black outline. I proportioned wrong, the eyes should be more spaced out. Black outline with a toothpick is hard cause it's hard to get it the same width the whole way round.

Soz a bit blurry

Gimme Glitter: Etude House - #346

Hello!! Today I have another Etude House polish to show you. Man I love glitter so much, I don't care about the difficult removal at all. Glitter is that great. The mix here is so good too.

#346 is a clear base with tons of big matte glitter, theres blue, pink and white hexes, white and yellow circles, pink butterflies, blue moons, yellow and pink stars, blue snowflakes (not shown here) but most importantly huge pink holographic circles. They are fabulous. The mix is like the definition of fun , I love the colours together and big shaped glitter is as fun as it's gonna get.

Just as a side note, the bottles are different and more boring. I liked the cute fancy pink lid but I suppose the plain circle white lid is more practical for storing and easier to see the colours. But when have I been about that life? Not that it matters much haha. Again love what Etude House is doing generally.

I love this combination (Orly Frolic and Rimmel Disco Ball). The glitter definitely sticks out so ample topcoat is definitely needed. After the first application the glitter came out pretty easily, fishing for the bigger pieces wasn't hard either. This is a coat and then some extra glitter so make everything look nicer. An issue I've found with Etude House is that there's too much base and while there's probably a touch too much base otherwise it's very good.

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Summer Lovin' Tribal Nails

Hello you guys!! I know summer is over now but I miss it cause school is back haha. Where did summer go?? Well I did this design over the summer and it was simple but I thought it was pretty nice. I know summer was meant to be free but I didn't do much nail art. I guess I was doing other things (*ahem* Pokémon) and I suppose my nail stuff wasn't as readily available. This actually might be the only design I did over summer :O actually there was the dragonfly design too haha.

It's a simple tribal with hearts incorporated. Simple but cute and I came up with the design myself, it's not that hard, just have to put some effort in :/ I put this over some glitter and I like it peaking through. Zig zags are fun. I put tinted glitter over the black and it was so fun, looked great and sparkly in the sun.

I drew this with my black pen and some toothpicks, my black pen sometimes explodes and gets extremely thick so I have to use a toothpick. I'm happy with how straight the lines are, though not gonna lie I'm pretty good at drawing straight lines freehand (I refused to use a ruler as a child and now I can draw pretty straight lines freehand).

Yellow: Rimmel - Bee A Honey
Glitter: Etude House - #346
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Purply pink glitter over the black: Barry M - Socialite

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a fab day!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Etude House - #117

Hey there guys!! I have more glitter, it's been quite glittery for a while here and will be for a bit more. Going to Asia means Etude House. I love the Korean brands cause they're doing very interesting things, I got a lot of lip products from there and they're so fabulous. There's this liquid lipstick in the shape of an actual lipstick and it's so cool and amazingly bright. Anyway to the glitter!!

#117 is a clear base with matte pink, white and shiny red heart glitter, small matte white and pink glitter, some slightly bigger pink hexes and some white bar glitter to boot. I think some pink leaked into the base but I don't mind. This polish is actually really really nice, I totally paired it wrong though (Rimmel Bee a Honey was the wrong choice). But will be using it again with better combos cause it's lovely :)

Every year I like the glitter polishes more and more in Etude House, I have another one that I'll be showing son and I like it better than this one. It's what you'd see from an indie and I don't see mainstream brands doing polishes like this. I feel like they're do more interesting stuff than The Face Shop (but I think The Face Shop is better quality).

The glitter spread was really good, there were bubbles but not entirely the polish's fault. It was hot and I'm never patient enough. The glitter density was very good, just have to fish for the hearts a bit but that's what happens with big glitter. This could've been a coat and then a few additional hearts.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a really nice day!! :)

Purple Nails: Orly - Frolic

Hey guys!! School's started back up which is always a sad time but its' actually not been too bad so far. But again, early days yet. While on holiday I got a few polishes, this being one of them and I totes love this colour.

Frolic is a pinky toned medium purple and the colour is so gorgeous!! I just love it, I don't have a purple like this at all. It's the pink tone I've been looking for cause if you didn't know I hate red toned purples, they are not pretty. And what a cute name too!!

I love Orly and I've always found it was a shame that I can't get it in the UK. They used to have minis in Boots but they were rubbish colours. I know Frolic was from a collection ages ago. Orly does such pretty colours, one of my favourite unattainable mainstream brands. We were in a boutique type place and they had a bunch of Orly (and OPI and China Glaze) but I was only interested in the Orly. No regrets cause this is so nice.

All the pictures show how the colour can change in different lighting. The polish was very opaque, I used 2 coats and the coverage was great. It was more of a watery formula but not too much. Formula was really great, makes me want more Orly haha.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)
