Pink Nails: Orly - Miss Conduct

Hey there guys, this polish is actually very very special. I've wanted this polish since 2012 no joke, The Polishaholic triggered it when she showed it in the Orly holiday collection and I knew I needed it. But the thing is Orly's never been a brand that's been easy to access here and I'm not a fan of ordering mainstream polishes online (seems a waste) so when I found Orly in TK Maxx a couple of years ago I've been holding out that maybe, just maybe I would find Miss Conduct. Well I think this post has confirmed that the quest is over ;) I actually found 3 bottles which was a bit overkill, and I wanted to get them all but restraint haha.
Now the polishes for my favourite polishes of last year are complete, so that'll be coming up in due course, I love seeing everyone else's favourite polishes around this time of the year, more things to get :P

The subtle holographic shimmer in Miss Conduct warms my heart. Miss Conduct is a raspberry subtle holographic polish and it's beautiful. I should just buy a proper holographic polish to bite the bullet but this is definitely satisfying, I think the subtly actually makes it more compelling.

I've loved Orly for a long time but it's seriously annoying that they're still not sold in major shops here. They used to do minis in Boots but not any more and the selection was poor. Now I have to rummage through TK Maxx and see what random selection I'll get. Not that that's a bad thing, I love TK Maxx surprises. And TK Maxx in general.
I don't know why I love Orly, I just think their colours are more fun (their neons tho) and I like the bottles (lol) and their nice colours are pure beaut. Miss Conduct is a really cute name too.

The formula was so good, it was opaque in 1 coat and I just did 2 for banter. It was so so easy to apply and was perfect.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a really nice day!! :)

Nude Nails: Seventeen - Forever

Hello!! This is my final Seventeen polish to show you that was in the set my dear friend got for me for my birthday. It was a very nice set and haha if you couldn't tell I swatch in order of which one I want to try first. Normally I'm a best for last kind of gal but not with polish haha. Nudes are the most boring for me tbh but that doesn't mean they can't be nice and you know what this one is.

Soz my fingers are a bit green, was probably colouring or something lol
Forever is a light nude-y mushroom-y kind of jelly polish (I'm good at describing) and it'll be very nice for a nude base which is actually pretty great for nail art. I like that it's lighter than my other nudes too, it's softer and that.

I don't know why this is called Forever but we go with it. I think Seventeen are so on point right now, I think they did a brand redo like Collection did and they're super legit now. I got a lip gloss set from a friend for Christmas and the packaging is so nice!! But moreover the lip glosses are so pretty and the colour selection is bomb. So once again Seventeen are doing really good right now, they're definitely a brand to look into.

There's a nice shiny finish because of the jelly aspect, now we all know that jellies have slightly rubbish formulas but actually Forever is very good considering. I used 3 coats and it built so well, the first coat was super sheer but after another coat I knew we'd be fine.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Red Nails; Seventeen - Dark Heart

Hi there you lot, I have a swatch today. As I say, there are only so many red polishes you need i.e. one. But My mind has been slowly swaying, like I love light orangey tone reds. But today's polish is your run-of-the-mill red, but everyone should have one. It's a nail art staple and sometimes you want to be classy. The shade is slightly different from my other reds but when it comes to red I think it makes no difference. I hope you guys have a good safe New Year's Eve, I'll probably be staying at home and despairing at how soon school is coming, trust me I'm despairing. Why are holidays never long enough???

To be honest it does look nice, I think red suits me much better than other colours but Dark Heart is still just a red creme polish. Do you agree? Do you think when you have one red you have them all?

I think Dark Heart is an interesting name for a polish that isn't a dark red, that's what I'd expect at least. But I still think Seventeen are doing a very good job with all their polishes.

The formula was very good, 2 coats and I'm pretty sure it was completely opaque and it was easy to apply. That's a better formula than some of my other reds so kudos. Lol I don't know what kudos means.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Peach Nails: Seventeen - Pink Lemonade

Hiya, I have a swatch today continuing the Seventeen polishes thing. You know what less waffle and more getting on with it.

Usual sorry about my cuticles and a fun chip I got on my index finger -_-
Pink Lemonade is a really nice pale medium jelly pink and I love this kind of mellowness. Also side note I really like Pink Lemonade cause Lemonade is one of my favourite drinks (tbh it's much better than pink lemonade).

Clearly the Seventeen shade range is pretty diverse, the jellies are really nice colours so good job to them. But the glitters are also unique to me so I think they're doing a good job.

For a jelly polish the formula is actually really good, I won't be reaching for this loads as a base but it only took 4 coats. Compared to Lime Em Up (the green jelly), the formula was far more opaque and generally built better. But a good thing about jellies is that they're easy to apply and you try to balance the bad and the good (I think the bad outweighs for me but that doesn't mean I don't like jellies).

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Green Nails: Seventeen - Lime Em Up

Hey there guys, I'm finally off school meaning hopefully I can get a bunch of posts up as I haven't been doing a great job lol. Continuing with the Seventeen polishes I have a fun green, a jelly too and yeah this colour is great.

I think a darker lime green is a decent description. It's pretty bright and it's a jelly. I love green and this is a vibrant one so it's cool with me.

Lime Em Up is a pretty sweet name, the edges weren't great not helped by the fact that my cuticles are not good in this season, but I'll write more about formula in the next bit.

This took a lot of coats, you know what jellies are like. I did 5 coats but it wasn't thick at all and it did build well, just took a lot of coats. It applied easily but I don't know if I'll be using it as a base any time soon but I do want to find uses for it cause the colour's so great.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!! :)

Purple Nails: Seventeen - Parma Violet

Hey there!! I have a pale purple today and I have to say nail blogging has made me a lover of pale purple polishes and seriously I think this is one of the nicest I've ever seen. Surely we all love pale purple at this stage.

Parma Violet is a super pink toned pale purple, and this is just gorgeous. I love it!! The pink tone makes it look fabulous.

Parma Violet is actually the perfect name, yes I've commented on the names a lot but that's because they're on point. I love Parma Violets, I don't think if they're just a British thing but I think they're so good. The colour of this isn't the same colour of parma violets at all but who cares when it's this nice.

The formula was amazing, 2 coats and it was so opaque and easy to apply. So I'm impressed, gone are the days of super sheer pastel polishes (hopefully at least).

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Seventeen - Sparkler

Hello!! I have more glitter today cause tbh you can't have enough glitter. Ever. I have a lot of choir things coming up but I think I can deal. My exams are over and I did alright and I didn't stress myself out and uni things are going pretty good. Now just have to sort like presents and stuff. And life and stuff but it'll be sweet :)

Sparkler (another cute name) is a tinted base with little blue and purple glitter and it's quite nice. Maybe it'll look over a different base, it's not bad over dark blue (Seventeen - Midnight Sapphire) but there's probably more potential.

With this Seventeen swatch marathon I don't have much else to say. But if you can get Seventeen nail polish I think it's definitely worth it if you see a nice colour. Pricing is so reasonable and that's what you want.

Sorry picture's a lil blurry
The coverage was pretty good, I wanted a lot of glitter and so I used 3 coats, but if you don't want as much lesser coats would definitely be enough.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a nice day!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Seventeen - Winter Coat

Hey there guys!! Christmas is coming!! I know it's a bit late for a first post in December, I haven't even been that busy but I guess I've been doing other things. It'll be swatches for the next bit but I've been very nail art focused as of late so I think it's time. This is really pretty too.

Winter Coat is a glitter topper with small gold glitter and slightly lager pieces of gold and iridescent glitter and it's so pretty!! I love how this looks over pink (Seventeen - Summer Lovin') and I already know it'll look great over loads of things.

Winter Coat is such a cute name I love it. So yes been trying all these Seventeen polishes and I think they're great. The colours have been so solid and so have the formulas.

The glitter coverage was super good, I have 2 coats here and even in 1 coat there was a ton of glitter and it was very easy to apply.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a nice day!! :)

Blue Nails: Seventeen - Midnight Sapphire

Hello fine people!! I have another swatch today, I think this polish is very similar to Kiko 265 just as a side note. Another side note, The Hunger Games was on TV the other day and man it was amazing. It just reminded me of when it first came out and how hype that was and it reminded me of how into the book I was and how great reading too deeply into the movie is. I know the new movie is coming out (has come out? I don't know :/) but I missed the 1st part so maybe seeing the 2nd part isn't the greatest idea. Though now I want to watch them all again, Josh Hutcherson has always been my bae :P

I like this lighting as it shows the really pretty blue shimmer. The name of this was very appropriate, Midnight Sapphire is a very dark blue with blue shimmer. Like it's bordering on black, but I still like it and will use it. I think one hope I'll actually get a proper navy.

I still really liking Seventeen, it's a brand you always see in Boots and stuff but the quality is really good. Like the set I was given was gorgeous in terms of colours chosen and the presentation was really nice too. So it's a thumbs up from me.

Sorry that it's so blurry
The formula was really good, 2 coats and I was sorted. I'm glad that you don't need a high end brand for great formula, no use spending that money (unless it's an Illamasqua ;)).

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Coral Nails: Seventeen - Summer Lovin

Hey there guys!! I hope you're doing sweet, I have exams this week but um haven't really been sweating it :/ There's still time and stuff but these exams don't count for anything and I'd rather a week off. I'm terrible, I know. One of my dearest friends got me an amazing nail polish set so that's what I'll be showing today and for the next couple of posts. It's been a while since we've had a swatch marathon here so it's time.

Sorry we're in that time of year where my lighting is a disaster, as well as my cuticles (well it's not too bad here). You would not be able to tell if this was coral at all. It's way more orange toned and lighter but it is a lovely colour. I love coral and this is just a really nice creme.
Also Summer Lovin is a great name, who cares if it's not? I've never used Seventeen polish before but I'm impressed, already I think their shade range is great.

Also I only have 2 pictures today cause my 3rd picture was so beyond. I know these pictures aren't colour accurate but that other one was so far gone. Seriously my lighting was just non-existent making me use another light source that did not work.
Anyway I have 4 coats here, not necessary but I wanted to remove all streakiness. Otherwise it applied very easily and was very easy to control.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a nice day!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Illamasqua - Blizzard

Hi guys!! It's been a while since we've had a swatch post, just haven't bought a lot of polish which is a good thing. I didn't intend to buy this but TK Maxx has many nail polish blessings haha. Illamasqua for less than £4, you can't say no to that. Last year (it feels so much longer than that though) I bought a white glitter polish as a substitute (Claire's Fluffy btw) but I can now confirm they are not the same. Illamasqua has mad grace, not knocking Claire's though, they had one of my favourite polishes last year too.

Probably not your typical swatch but I wanted a really girly gradient and some extra glitter sprinkled in. So Blizzard has a clear base with subdued pearly white hex glitter and it's really pretty.

You know I love Illamasqua, the only high end brand that I think is worth it. The only one, nothing else is worth it. I'm loving that TK Maxx is selling them for so cheap, now I'll never buy full price again (unless another polish like Melange comes around...). Sure there are dupes and sometimes I'd go for them but the shades are amazing and the formula is flawless. Like it's quality stuff and while expensive not the worst of the high end brands (Chanel anyone?).

The formula was pretty good for this kind of glitter. There's a lot of base but if you load up the brush with glitter and do multiple nails at a time then you're sweet. While there's a lot of base there's also a lot of glitter. The gradient was done with The Body Shop A Grape Affair and Orly Basket Case, the extra glitter is Revlon Belle.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Etude House - #346

Hello!! Today I have another Etude House polish to show you. Man I love glitter so much, I don't care about the difficult removal at all. Glitter is that great. The mix here is so good too.

#346 is a clear base with tons of big matte glitter, theres blue, pink and white hexes, white and yellow circles, pink butterflies, blue moons, yellow and pink stars, blue snowflakes (not shown here) but most importantly huge pink holographic circles. They are fabulous. The mix is like the definition of fun , I love the colours together and big shaped glitter is as fun as it's gonna get.

Just as a side note, the bottles are different and more boring. I liked the cute fancy pink lid but I suppose the plain circle white lid is more practical for storing and easier to see the colours. But when have I been about that life? Not that it matters much haha. Again love what Etude House is doing generally.

I love this combination (Orly Frolic and Rimmel Disco Ball). The glitter definitely sticks out so ample topcoat is definitely needed. After the first application the glitter came out pretty easily, fishing for the bigger pieces wasn't hard either. This is a coat and then some extra glitter so make everything look nicer. An issue I've found with Etude House is that there's too much base and while there's probably a touch too much base otherwise it's very good.

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Etude House - #117

Hey there guys!! I have more glitter, it's been quite glittery for a while here and will be for a bit more. Going to Asia means Etude House. I love the Korean brands cause they're doing very interesting things, I got a lot of lip products from there and they're so fabulous. There's this liquid lipstick in the shape of an actual lipstick and it's so cool and amazingly bright. Anyway to the glitter!!

#117 is a clear base with matte pink, white and shiny red heart glitter, small matte white and pink glitter, some slightly bigger pink hexes and some white bar glitter to boot. I think some pink leaked into the base but I don't mind. This polish is actually really really nice, I totally paired it wrong though (Rimmel Bee a Honey was the wrong choice). But will be using it again with better combos cause it's lovely :)

Every year I like the glitter polishes more and more in Etude House, I have another one that I'll be showing son and I like it better than this one. It's what you'd see from an indie and I don't see mainstream brands doing polishes like this. I feel like they're do more interesting stuff than The Face Shop (but I think The Face Shop is better quality).

The glitter spread was really good, there were bubbles but not entirely the polish's fault. It was hot and I'm never patient enough. The glitter density was very good, just have to fish for the hearts a bit but that's what happens with big glitter. This could've been a coat and then a few additional hearts.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a really nice day!! :)

Purple Nails: Orly - Frolic

Hey guys!! School's started back up which is always a sad time but its' actually not been too bad so far. But again, early days yet. While on holiday I got a few polishes, this being one of them and I totes love this colour.

Frolic is a pinky toned medium purple and the colour is so gorgeous!! I just love it, I don't have a purple like this at all. It's the pink tone I've been looking for cause if you didn't know I hate red toned purples, they are not pretty. And what a cute name too!!

I love Orly and I've always found it was a shame that I can't get it in the UK. They used to have minis in Boots but they were rubbish colours. I know Frolic was from a collection ages ago. Orly does such pretty colours, one of my favourite unattainable mainstream brands. We were in a boutique type place and they had a bunch of Orly (and OPI and China Glaze) but I was only interested in the Orly. No regrets cause this is so nice.

All the pictures show how the colour can change in different lighting. The polish was very opaque, I used 2 coats and the coverage was great. It was more of a watery formula but not too much. Formula was really great, makes me want more Orly haha.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Maybelline Color Show - Bouquet

Hello!! We have more glitter today, I don't think pictures do this justice cause this glitter is really really pretty. The mix is fabulous, I just love the delicacy of the matte glitter in this.

Bouquet is a glitter topper with small and medium copper hexes and light pink and white matte glitter. It's really pretty. For some reason it kind of tinted my pink base but let's hope that was a one off. Not that I mind anyway cause it's a pretty glitter, I forgive all pretty glitter.

This is my first time trying a Maybelline polish and I like it. I like the glitters in that range, I was going to get one ages ago but managed to convince myself not to buy it #selfcontrolled. But I think their cremes are real nice, maybe worth looking into.

The formula was great, barely needed 2 coats. There was so much glitter so good job Maybelline. It was so easy to apply as well so a girl is impressed.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Topshop - Adrenalin

Hey there guys!! It's been another while, this has been a recurring theme this year. I say this all the time which I understand is annoying but I feel kind of bad disappearing for large chunks of time all the time haha. So a lot's gone down in terms of relaxing and loving life cause times have been good. I got my AS level results and I'm really happy with what I got. Now I have to sort university stuff -_- I'm just trying to relax as much as possible before everything gets real again. I do like blogging but I suppose I've stuff been doing other things, like movies and meeting up with people.
Anyway I have a glitter polish which I got cause limited edition packaging cause I'm a total sucker. It's very similar to Razzmatazz but that's one of my favourites. But Adrenalin is pink so totally worth it, and the packaging is rose gold cause of Topshop Makeup's 5th birthday, so even more worth.

Adrenalin is a clear pink base with tons of holographic glitter with some bigger holographic hexes. It's real nice but I did the wrong combo. I love me some holographic glitter, not as much as I used to, I have to say I prefer some matte glitter, it's just so colourful o.O

I've always loved Topshop nail polish, they're cremes are the most solid. As part of the 5th anniversary they released some other pretty cremes but nothing really special. I was even debating buying this one cause it's pretty similar to Razzmatazz but the packaging. As I previously mentioned I am a sucker.

I think I used 2 coats (since I've been away for a while, naturally these swatches were done a while ago), there were no formula issues at all. Very easy to apply and tons of glitter. I put this over Barry M Dragon Fruit.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a nice day!! :)

Green Nails: Barry M - Pole Position

Hello there!! I have another Speedy polish, I saw another mint green in the range but I prefer the more green tone mints rather than blue. Everyone loves mint green right?

Yeah Pole Position is your pale mint green and it's very nice but nothing bank-breaking(?). It's a nice creme so will be good for nail art.

So this was the from the 1st wave of the Speedy range (they have cute checkered lids) and it has a lot of pastels. So it's a sweet collection, lots of nice colours, personally nothing that I think is insane but definitely good ones to have.

The formula was really good, like a good creme polish. Opaque and easy to apply (might as well just write this about all Barrys) and there are only bubbles here because it was a hot day in the nail room. I used 3 coats, they were thin coats so I think I could've used an extra coat for certain areas cause a little bit of streakiness.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day!! :)
