Pink + teal herringbone nails

Hey there guys!! Hope you're chilling, I'm trundling along as usual. Things seem to get more and more busy for me so I'm trying to manage and have as much fun as possible while doing so cause otherwise I'd be drained. Drained is not a good feeling guys. So positivity and that!! I have herringbone nail art today cause it was about time I tried it, plus I do love that geometric look so this had to be right up my street.

I really like this colour scheme, I think it's a pretty solid, teal and pink and the bonus silver/grey only aids it. Herringbone looks cool and it's so simple, adding glitter can only make me happier. The design is mega sweet, you'll probably be seeing it in many different colour combinations in the future haha.

Herringbone is also so easy to paint, if you're not sure I say go for it!! It's actually as simple as it looks. After glittering everywhere, I just got my toothpicks and drew some straight lines (actually straight lines can be hard not gonna lie) and then did arrow lines(?) between the columns. After that I just randomly coloured in some of the spaces, I managed to be neat enough to no have to go over the lines again. It's the small things.

Base: Essie - Naughty Nautical
Glitter: Orly - Go Deeper
Flakes: M&S - Light Mix (really nice over the teal)
Silver: w7 - Silver Mirror
Pink: Orly - Basket Case
Metallic pink: Barry M - Boots Xmas LE 2012 B (brill for this design)
Grey: Barry M - Chai

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a lovely chillin' day!! :)

Coral Nails: Spa Ritual - Wilderness

Hello!! Hope you're doing well, I suppose I am. Many things are going on, one of them being driving, still getting used to it but I think I'm ok. Today I have another TK Maxx purchase to display, my first Spa Ritual polish and there'll be more. I think this is part of a duo so I will be showing off the other half at some point, but lets get to the polish cause this one is noice.

Wilderness is a coral pink textured polish with a strong golden shimmer (like if OPI Jinx was coral). I don't know if textured polish is still a thing (brands moved on from that fast), but I still really like it. I think it's fantastic, I've always been on the textured boat, right from the beginning. But look how pretty that shade of coral is!! I adore colours like that, and add gold shimmer and I'm right there!!

Pretty much know nothing about Spa Ritual, but from this first experience they seem pretty legit. I see swatches on Lucy's Stash and again they look pretty sweet. They seem to be very unique with good formulas, that's all you can really ask for :P

I used 3 coats for full opacity, I think for my nail length 3 coats was necessary cause there was patchiness. And ain't nobody got time for that. Otherwise was formula was great, it just went on, like it should.

So thank you for reading and I hope you have a superb day!! :)

Pastel bunnies + zig zag chevron nail art

Hi fine folks!! It's another nail art day, and a pretty cute one if I do say so myself. Also animal nail art, I really like animal nail art. Whilst I've done bunny nail art before I think this design could be the best and generally the most fun.

I suppose I wanted bunnies and then I got some exciting colours to do some chevron zig zags and weirdly I think it works. The bunnies are real cute, with the little ears and the wide eyes :3 It's all very summery, but you know me, you know I'm always in summer. I think the whole look somehow ties itself together. Plus pastel bunnies look super sweet.

For the zig zags and the main head of the rabbits I just used the brush of the polish. However it was messy and I cleaned it up with some toothpicks. So all the details are done with toothpicks too. For the black I used my pen and was crazy about positioning, I think I got the purple bunny much better than the blue one, but I'm still content.

Base: Spa Ritual - Wilderness
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Barry M - Matt White
Purple: Barry M - Berry Ice Cream
Dark purple: OPI - My Current Crush
Blue: Barry M - Sugar Apple
Teal: Barry M - Guava
Green: Barry M - Greenberry
Pink: Models Own - Radiant Pink and Barry M - Superdrug 50th Birthday (the glitter really added a lot, but glitter tends to do that)
Orange: OPI - Where Did Suzi's Man-go? and Rimmel - It's a Scorcher! (I thought It's a Scorcher! had a better shade of orange to work with the design)

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Teal Nails: Essie - Naughty Nautical

Hey there guys!! I got this polish as part of a set in TK Maxx (a.k.a. the place to be), and well I have to show all the polish don't I? Especially the teal ones, I love teal.

Naughty Nautical is a green-toned teal with silver shimmer that flashes purple and green. Really pretty this one, I think I'd like it better if it wasn't so green. But teal is teal so of course I think this one is great.

Naughty Nautical was a part of Essie's 2013 Summer collection, I tend to love Essie summer collections. The colours are so me and 2013 was a lovely collection, but I was waiting for them to be way cheaper in TK Maxx cause they weren't essential as nice as they were. And over a year later I can get my hands on 1 of them, I saw another TK Maxx set with 2 from the collection but the teal is the one I'm after really. Well the coral was but that one wasn't there. I think Essie does really nice shades, and I'm very particular about shades.

Whilst the formula was more on the runny side it covered pretty well, I used 3 coats and my longer nails are probably a factor in that. Yeah application was smooth and maybe you wouldn't like it as much if you don't like the formula so runny but otherwise it was very good. But beware, Naughty Nautical is a stainer, I used base coat and it still stained so be wary...

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a nice day!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Barry M - Starlight (Limited Edition)

Hi there!! I'm liking the bit of time I get to sit and write up these posts, once school starts back I have to make cupcakes for my class and lol let's not even start about winter exam results but it's nice to have a few days off. It's Barry M limited edition time, I do this every year you know the drill, I pick my favourite limited editions and I show them off. There's still 1 limited edition I intend to get but from the promos I knew this one would be my favourite.

It's holographic glitter pal. The mix is so nice, there's gold and pink (hard to tell but it's a pale pink and it's really nice) hexes with silver holographic stars and small pink glitter in a clear base. It's kind of classy and would be perfect for a party ;)

You know me, you know I love Barry M, and I love those limited editions. Every season I try to get the nice ones, this winter there's 2 in Boots (Moonlight and Starlight), 2 in Superdrug (Jingle Bells and Christmas Tree) and even 1 in Tesco (Twilight). You'll hopefully be seeing one of the other ones, though here's a hint, I'm not the biggest fan of bar glitter. I love that they're glitter polishes too, you know me, you know I LOVE glitter.

Haha I was trying to show the pink glitter and the only way to do that is take a picture in the bathroom, you can see the shower head ahahahaha
You know what to expect with Barry, the glitter spread was super great and there was loads of glitter. I used 2 coats and I didn't even pack the brush with glitter. The stars stuck out a bit, but that's gonna happen when you have curved nails and it's not that bad, otherwise all the glitter stays at bay. I put this over Nails Inc Sao Paulo Streets, cause neutrals are classy, like me. I'm excited to put this over a bright colour though :P

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Purple Galaxy Nails

Hey there guys!! Lots of purple posts going up recently, coincidental I say. But I do really like purple. I adore galaxy nails and it's been a while since my last one, I thought the purple base would make a pretty cool galaxy.

What can I really say apart from it's your standard galaxy except there are more unconventional colours? But good thing that your standard galaxy looks really sweet, I think the blending was pretty ok to good and I wanted to incorporate a bunch of cool tones in. And glitter, you know I'm all about that glitter. One slightly different thing is the use of silver, my white polish is getting gloopy (it always happens) so silver is a nice alternative, adds to the ethereal feeling (I pretend like I know what I'm talking about).

As most galaxy designs go I used a sponge and went colour by colour sponging. I attempted to create the galaxy pattern even though I don't really know what they are. I dabbed some glitter and used a toothpick for the stars, just lots of little dots.

Base: The Body Shop - A Grape Affair
White: Barry M - Matt White
Silver: w7 - Silver Mirror
Light Blue: Revlon - Dreamer
Dark Blue: Essie - Lots Of Lux
Purples: OPI - My Current Crush and OPI - Plum & Get It
Teal: Essie - Naughty Nautical
Glitter polishes: Rimmel - Disco Ball and Topshop - Razzmatazz

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!! :)

Purple Nails: The Body Shop - A Grape Affair

Hello!! I have a nice polish to show you today, quite recently The Body Shop released their nail polish line, Colour Crush or something and I heard good things and they looked quite nice so here I am showing you this polish today :)

From what I saw all the polishes were cremes, but really nice colours at that. A Grape Affair (punny) is a red-toned medium purple creme and it's totally gorgeous, I was going to give this away but then it was so nice and I wanted to try out The Body Shop's polish.

Recently I've been real obsessed with The Body Shop, I've been getting £10 off every month and it really keeps me going back to there. I kind of really want to get the candy apple body butter thing, cause it smells incredible. Anyway back to the polish, the range of colours were really nice and will surely grow, good price at £5 too. As if I needed more reasons to go to The Body Shop, like I almost like it as much as The Face Shop, and I love that place.

The formula was brill and will keep me going back, 2 coats easy and probably 3 for long nails. The formula was smooth and glided and it was pretty much perfect. The viscosity was also right in the middle, I suppose slightly on the runnier side but overall really really good formula. Like don't hesitate buying Body Shop polish ;)

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Purple/Green Paisley Print Nails

Hello there fine people, coming right at'cha with more nail art. It's been pretty nail art-y recently, and that's the way it should be. Nail art is my fave. I think taking that break from writing and posting was nice just to try and get myself in order (order is a subjective word).
I think I'll be having some good stuff up soon, it was my birthday earlier this month so I do have some polish to display and I enjoy writing those posts so hopefully I can have some good quality content up before the month is over (and it will be considering how fast time has been passing, it's not just me right??). And woohoo my exams are over so hopefully I'll up and posting a bunch soon (if I don't get distracted, I can be a very distracted person sometimes).

I feel like it's been a while since I've done paisley print nails and even once in a while I have urges to correct the absence of certain nail art designs. I thought the clash of pink, green and purple would be cool. I like the design as a whole but the colours don't blend very well together. I reckon I could've got the gradient effect painted much better. But once you slam that glitter on top everything is solved.

This was a toothpick affair and I tried to use the 3 colours in different orders with each paisley pattern. It was hard to do thin lines inside the middle sections. Under the paisley print I also jellied a sandwich and that actually looked really nice by itself. I think the segments of paisley are actually pretty messy but something I just dealt with haha. Also mattified cause that's what the cool kids are doing. Haha I don't know that but I like matte manicures a lot.

Base, jelly and glitter: Per Una - Pink (no name), Barry M - Superdrug Summer Limited Edition 2013 A and OPI - Polka.com
Light Green: Etude House - No. 86
Green: Barry M - Greenberry
Darker Green: Barry M - Kiwi
Purple: Illamasqua - Jo'Mina
Plum: OPI - My Current Crush
Red: Barry M - Raspberry

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a really nice day!! :)

Who's that Pokémon? Mupkip (with dripping chevrons)!!

Hey there guys!! I'm here with some Pokemon nail art, apparently now my favourite nail art. Not gonna lie especially this design, I adore Mupkip and I saw the dripping chevrons at Chalkboard Nails and it's pretty much my new favourite design. It's so easy to paint and it looks so cool!! I think everyone should give it a try cause it looks incredible :)

So yeah here we have some Mupkip, cause I herd u lyk them ;) And some really funky dripping chevrons that go with the colour scheme of Mudkip. I thought Mudkip would be quite appropriate since Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is coming out really soon. You know Mudkip is your water starter and who I intend to start with, if I get the game (hopefully I will cause it looks really great) Look how cute Mudkip is!! Awk bless.
I really love this design, I know the combination seems totally unrelated but I like the strange combinations ya'know. The matteness was also really nice, matte nails are great. I really want to do those chevrons in every colour combination, for seers they are amazing :3

Whilst I think the dripping chevrons are amazing, they are the most time-consuming thing. I wanted a random colour scheme which meant I did each row at a time without having a set pattern so that took even longer haha. As usual I used my toothpicks and as you can imagine I just painted each row trying to keep the zigzags as neat as possible. Some of the chevrons aren't completely aligned but I can look over that. I added the drips randomly at the end.
For Mudkip I started with a white base, and added the appropriate details. Sounds like bundles of fun, I know. But the outcome is worth it :)

Base: Color Club - Sky High
Blue: Models Own - Asscher Blue
Light Blue: The Face Shop - BL601
Orange: Rimmel - It's a Scorcher!
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Barry M - Matt White
Light Turquoise: Barry M - Sugar Apple
Gold: w7 - Golden Sands
Teal: OPI - Sea You In Hollywood
Periwinkle: Essie - Bikini So Teeny

Pop Art Heart Nails

Hi there, welcome back to PlumeriaPainted!! With more nail art! Yeah I've been really busy, but isn't this the story of all of our lives. But there's been exams and I have masses of fun work to do, however I've finished half of my exams today so hopefully I'll be back in business soon :) Today's design is a simple one, but like most things I like it. I have to say this design translates way better in photos than in real life. I was not keen on this in real life, go the power of photography.

It's just a little cute heart pattern, but with an outline which makes it pop art. I think my favourite part of this design is the holographic glitter hahaha. No but I like the design in photos, it's simple and sweet.

The hearts were painted with toothpicks but cause the colours were too similar and basically I painted the hearts badly so I had to add an outline with my black pen. The spacing isn't totally right either but that's something I can overlook for this design.

Base: Etude House - #60 and Barry M - Fairy Lights
White: Barry M - Matt White and w7 - Lava Flow
Pink: Models Own - Radiant Pink
Light pink: Barry M - Strawberry Ice Cream with Per Una - Pink (no name) underneath
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a nice day!! :)

Red/Blue Blossom Nails

Hey there guys!! It's a nail art day and I love floral nail art and my problem has always been that I'm not very good at it :( Again it's another hit and miss thing for me, except I think with floral nail art when I hit, I HIT!! I'm very happy with this one, elegant flowers are the shizz.

I was trying to be artsy and when I do that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When I don't try really hard it tends to work and vice versa (reverse psychology?), and artsiness is me in this design.
With the peach base, I thought some pinky red and blue flowers would go really nice on top. I think I managed to do the shading ok too. The black dots really helped the design an thankfully I didn't mess it up!! I felt so elegant with this design on ;)

For the artsiness, I got my toothpick and actually just went mental making loose flower shapes. Seriously mental, there was no set shape going on (I think that's my downfall) and I avoided outlines this time round. The leaves were more structured also I didn't want them all over the place so they're very orderly. For the bits of glitter I did a little bit of fishing, not tough fishing though if you know what I mean?

Base: Paris Collection - Brown Beaute
Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips
Pink (hard to see): Models Own - Radiant Pink
Dark blue: H&M - Blue My Mind
Light blue: Models Own - Asscher Blue
Black: M&S - Petrol
Green: Illamasqua - Melange
Green glitter: Orly - Go Deeper

Thanks very much for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Peach Nails: Paris Collection - Brown Beaute

Hi there you!! This is a very old peach polish of mine with a really random brand but I wanted to give it a test run. Surprisingly I like it and I'm still working on swatching all my polish. This is a step closer to that goal!!

Brown Beaute (like the most deceptive name, this is just not brown) is a pearly orange-y peach polish. Pearly being the key word, we can all relax cause this isn't a frost. It's quite a nice colour, generally I do really like a sweet peach.

I still don't know much about the Paris Collection brand, maybe it's Canadian? But I've never seen it ever since my Canadian pal gave this to me 3 years ago. Hey the more you know.

Ok you can see bubbles but that could be my fault cause I am bubble queen. Maybe the formula would be bad to others but I thought it was ok. I needed 4 coats but they were thin and it built decently well. I've seen worse formulas :P

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Clashing gradient + dotty flowers nail art

Hi there!! I hope you're doing well, chilling and that. Today I have some simple nail art that I thought I could quickly do and just wear for the week. The design took longer than anticipated and I ended up taking the design off after a couple of days (not that I didn't like it, I really liked it!!) cause it was thick (can't deal with a thick manicure). However I still think this is a simple cute look that's fun to "wear".

I like clashing colours a lot and I actually spent of a long time for the colours to use. I love glitter gradients but unfortunately my gradients are very hit and miss, I guess this one was in-between.
The accent nail was meant to have nothing but it just looked really out of place so I added the little flowers which are cute and so easy to do and I'm glad I added it to the design as it ties everything together. Oh yeah The Teen Queen looks great as it always does.

I use the sponge method for my gradients and after having to do tons of layers I just resorted to dabbing with the brush of the polish. For the little flowers I just used a toothpick with the corresponding polish and went with the flow on the colour scheme of the flowers.

#cuticleproblems :/
My hands match for once in my life!! But never again, I love not matching. Well not completely matching cause the accent nail is different but it's the closest I'll get to matching.
Orange, green, blue gradient: OPI - Where Did Suzi's Man-go?, Illamasqua - Melange and H&M - Blue My Mind
Glitter: Hare Polish - The Teen Queen
Neon pink accent: Claire's - Hundreds and Thousands
Light pink accent: The Face Shop - Strawberry Milk Yogurt
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire
Pink: OPI - Charged Up Cherry
Light green: China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint
Blue: Models Own - Asscher Blue

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)
