Pastel bunnies + zig zag chevron nail art

Hi fine folks!! It's another nail art day, and a pretty cute one if I do say so myself. Also animal nail art, I really like animal nail art. Whilst I've done bunny nail art before I think this design could be the best and generally the most fun.

I suppose I wanted bunnies and then I got some exciting colours to do some chevron zig zags and weirdly I think it works. The bunnies are real cute, with the little ears and the wide eyes :3 It's all very summery, but you know me, you know I'm always in summer. I think the whole look somehow ties itself together. Plus pastel bunnies look super sweet.

For the zig zags and the main head of the rabbits I just used the brush of the polish. However it was messy and I cleaned it up with some toothpicks. So all the details are done with toothpicks too. For the black I used my pen and was crazy about positioning, I think I got the purple bunny much better than the blue one, but I'm still content.

Base: Spa Ritual - Wilderness
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Barry M - Matt White
Purple: Barry M - Berry Ice Cream
Dark purple: OPI - My Current Crush
Blue: Barry M - Sugar Apple
Teal: Barry M - Guava
Green: Barry M - Greenberry
Pink: Models Own - Radiant Pink and Barry M - Superdrug 50th Birthday (the glitter really added a lot, but glitter tends to do that)
Orange: OPI - Where Did Suzi's Man-go? and Rimmel - It's a Scorcher! (I thought It's a Scorcher! had a better shade of orange to work with the design)

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Rabbit (from Winnie the Pooh) Nails

Hello there fine folks on this lovely day (hopefully). This is my 5th Winnie the Pooh nail art design and I'm really liking them, here's my Eeyore one which links to the Tigger, Piglet and Winnie designs. This was my Easter manicure (now you have an idea of how behind I am) cause of Rabbit, and that's Easter appropriate. I got no chocolate eggs but I'm really ok with that, I get more than enough chocolate anyway. My Rabbit design is different from my other ones cause this one follows more closely with how Rabbit actually looks, oo being more artsy!! But not really.

So here I have Rabbit amongst a bunch of carrots and polka dots, I am really proud of how Rabbit turned out, it's nice when things work out right and I think it looks nice. The carrots were dodgier but I don't think they detract at all, and of course polka dots are always cute. I'm onboard with all cute things so I like this a lot.

I started with the polka dots with a bobby pin and I began to tackle Rabbit. I started with a general white base and added the black outline first(!), and then kind of coloured it in. Man proportioning will always be an issue for me but I got there eventually. I finally used my toothpicks for the carrots, I tried making them artsy but in the end I always fall back on cartoony.

Base: w7 - Sheer Lemon and Essie - Shine of the Times
Red: Essie - E-Nuff Is E-Nuff
Yellow: Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream
Pink: Per Una - Pink (no name)
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White and Barry M - Matt White
Orange: Essie - Fear or Desire
Light Orange (that you can't see at all :/): Rimmel - It's a Scorcher!
Green: OPI - Jade Is The New Black

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!!! :)

Who's that Pokemon? Buneary!

Hello there guys, I hope you guys are enjoying your weekend and not trying to tie up the loose ends of schoolwork like me!! :P I don't know if I've inadvertently started a new series but probs not, I don't know enough about pokemon unfortunately. But Buneary is adorable!!

Buneary is an adorable normal type pokemon and yeah she (or he)'s adorable so I had to do nail art. And I'm pleased with this one, I love cute bunnies and I think I painted them cute (I fail at saying intellectual things).
I have never played with Buneary (I don't even know what gen she is, fail -_-) so I don't know if she's good or not but thing is I would just pick all the cute pokemon, cause do I care if they're good? You need to know little about me to know that cuteness is everything.

I was trying to do a green ombre base kind of thing but I failed as I should've put Cool Jade before Greenberry (-_-) thankfully in the end I didn't care as it was covered up. So it's more a green skittle than ombre. Painting wise I can't really say anything other than I painted some bunnies, I did a white base and then went colour by colour. Those yellow eyebrows were difficult to position as were those eyes, much fixing had to happen.
OO THE GLITTER. Whilst I was painting I didn't know what to do with the 2 bunny free nails, and then what happens? The mail comes in with my first Hare Polish, clearly it was meant to be. Buneary, Hare, see the theme? It was meant to be. You better believe there's going to be a post dedicated to this glitter, and I have much to say.

Greens (thumb to pinky): OPI - Jade Is The New Black, Barry M - Greenberry, Max Factor - Cool Jade, Illamasqua - Nomad and China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint
Brown: Paris Collection - Mauve Melody
Yellow: w7 - Sheer Lemon
Pink: Per Una - Pink (no name)
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Barry M - Matt White
Normally I use my white pen for these kind of things but it just wouldn't work. But this was great as no smudging!!
Glitter: Hare Polish - The Teen Queen

Oo bonus picture!! I have a Buneary plushie!! I got it quite a few years ago when I went to Japan, I know the Japanese name phonetically is Mimirouru, I had to do a whole search on google to find out the english name so I could do this design. I wasn't sure if I was going to include my plushie but I decided if you have a cute bunny plushie (oh my goodness plushie is such a cute word) you pose and take a picture with it!! Yes I sound crazy, and yes I don't care :P

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day!! :D

Miffy In The Paint

Hi there guys!! I have some incredibly awesome highlighters from my great aunt (the tip of the pen is a bear. I just can't) that have Miffy on them so I decided to do some Miffy nails. It was meant to be inspired by those highlighters but in the end I just did a Miffy design ("Miffy in the paint" is one of the quotes from the highlighter, clearly it was made in Asia haha).

Miffy is SO cute!! This is my favourite kind of nail art (cute cartoons) and I can never do enough. My favourite is the Miffy on my thumb with the daisy dress (I decided to put that extra detail in). The paintbrushes fit the design and the yellow bear is also adorable (I have no idea what it's name is, I looked it up and got nothing). I like all the colours too, and the subtle floral background (which wasn't originally going to be a floral background). Frankly I love that it's so childish, it's got a cute elementary thing going on with it. Nothing at all wrong with childish ;)

I was a Miffy fan when I was very young, my mother commented asking if I was into this again. But I didn't remember being into Miffy but then memory attack!! I watched Miffy and Friends when I was about 5 and that was a great show. Miffy's author is Dick Bruna and I think his simplistic style was perfect for this.

White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Blue: Nails Inc - Baker Street
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire
Green: OPI - Jade Is The New Black
Red: Essie - E-Nuff Is E-Nuff
Pink: Barry M - Superdrug Limited Edition Summer 2013 A (over Barry M - Matt White)
Cornflower Blue: Essie - Bikini So Teeny
Mustard Yellow: Topshop - Naked

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day!! :3

The iPhone (Nail) Series: Happy Street

Oh hello there lovely people!! Welcome to the 2nd instalment of The iPhone (Nail) Series, I have some nail art based on my current favourite iPhone game, Happy Street. I stumbled upon this game last year and it's just the best. Mostly the game is ADORABLE!! The characters are seriously the cutest (I'm being very superlative, that's not an adjective :/) and everyone is always happy.

These are the main characters of Happy Street. Thumb to left to right, Billy, Zoe, Pepin, Nyok and Dahlia. I play Happy Street for quests, I have to complete all the quests, when there are no quests I am sad (not really haha). Recently the game brought in a train feature which is virtually constant quests for various items, so currently I'm happy with Happy Street. Except when I get all the items it's gonna be a problem, but that won't happen any time soon :) Happy Street is a free to play game where you start with a small street and the more time and effort you put into your street, the more it grows.
Another thing I really like about the game is the "story", it's in bunny ears cause it's not your typical "storyline", but the characters interact with each other and has made me crazy over the Billy/Zoe coupling (THEY NEED TO BE TOGETHER). This is what the game does to you, makes you want a fox and a cat together. I'm sure the game is aimed at kids but the characters sometimes talk about inflation and sometimes there are the weirdest innuendoes that the creators must've had an older audience in mind too. I really could say so many good things about this game, and there's no reason not to give it a try (well there's the possibility of getting addicted), it's free!!

I really like all the characters (Zoe being my favourite by a small margin), except Dahlia (the purple bunny), I should like her but I just don't, her character isn't substantial to me. So Nyok and Dahlia are getting married, Pepin is your money obsessed wolf and the Billy and Zoe thing is slightly heart-breaking so I won't be mentioning it (also it's a bit of a spoiler), BUT THEY HAVE TO END UP TOGETHER (this game does this to me).
I'm the happiest with how I painted Billy, Zoe the 2nd happiest, the characters aren't painted perfectly, but otherwise I'm quite satisfied as they are cuties.

I started with a gradient of Ciate - Cookies and Cream, Per Una - Pink (no name) and H&M - Check Me Out, it started well as I was trying a different gradient technique, but as usual ended in fail. I knew it was getting covered up anyway. I sealed the gradient with OPI - Pirouette My Whistle, not the greatest move as the glitter dulled the colours and didn't look as nice, but early stages it's ok.
I started the characters with painting a white base with Lovely Me:Ex - White and all black details were done with Lovely Me:Ex - Black.
For Billy (the fox):
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire, Light Brown: Ciate - Cookies and Cream. I was trying to do shading and it failed. Mint Green: Max Factor - Cool Jade, Light Blue: The Face Shop - BL601 and Blue: Essie - Bikini So Teeny.
For Zoe (the cat):
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream, Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips, Light Pink: Per Una - Pink (no name), Mustard: Topshop - Naked and Pink: Barry M - Fuchsia.
For Pepin (the wolf):
Blue: Barry M - Indigo, Shimmery Blue: OPI - Sea You In Hollywood, Silver: w7 - Silver Mirror. The black didn't show up on the dark blue and it made me sadz, I thought the silver would be a suitable replacement. It wasn't Pepin looked crazy evil so the happy medium was the black over the silver. Red: Nails Inc - Tate.
For Nyok (the dog):
Copper: Nail Polish - Copper (no name), Brown: Paris Collection - Mauve Melody, Light Brown: Ciate - Cookies and Cream and Shimmery Blue: OPI - Sea You In Hollywood
For Dahlia:
Purple: Illamasqua - Jo'Mina, Pink: Per Una - Pink (no name), Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine, Blue: Essie - Bikini So Teeny, Darker Blue: Color Club - Sky High and Green: Illamasqua - Nomad.
Yep that's a lot of colours :/ but I didn't have the exact colours for a few things, not very important though. I like the colour palette the creators of Happy Street used, they all compliment each other.

Ok thanks if you read this extremely long and rambly (what I do best) post, I like this game. I hope you have a great day!! :)

Chubby Bunnies

Oh hey there guys!! How are you this fine Sunday evening? I don't actually know, I'm not dreading school (though I should be) but it's not like I'm aching to get there (but what child ever is??). Since I'm liking the animal nail art right now, I chose to paint some bunnies. They ended up chubby through no fault of their own.

At first I was disappointed with my bunnies, but I grew to think they're cute (and that is the most important thing). A question you may be asking is "Why are those carrots white and black?", no crazy answer just because I wanted them to work with the colour scheme.
If I ever got a bunny (which I won't because my mother despises animals) I would name it "Milk" (because I can) or "Fluffernutter" (HIMYM reference), aw man I'd have to buy 2 cause I wouldn't be able to pick. My friend named her fish "Lorenzo Vonmatterhorn" (the other one "Fish" because she had used all her naming powers), how legendary right? ;)
Purple: Barry M - Prickly Pear (What a cute name :3)
Pink: Color Club - Wing Fling
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
Light Pink: Professional Nail Care French Manicure - French Pink
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
I got new polishes, the Barry M was on my wishlist but I took it off cause I told myself I didn't "need" it (then I decided I did "need" it). OH MY GOODNESS IT'S GORGEOUS, purple is not my colour. BUT THIS CHANGES MY MIND IT'S SO PRETTY. It's a perfect lavender and I just love the colour, it's amazing.
The pink is one of my first Color Clubs, TK Maxx (love) are selling them in sets and I picked up the "Take Wing" collection. Not all for me (but some for me, oh man I am loving brackets today), and it's so pretty, but I will writing about it more next post.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!! :)

"White Rabbit" with some tribal elements

Hey there guys, I should have a cup of inspiration as I am definitely lacking recently. I didn't have the best of days, you know negative people and stuff. But I feel way better than before now. White Rabbit is (I think) a chinese sweet with a layer of edible paper around it. It tastes SO GOOD, recently I got a hold of them and have been treasuring each one. I ate the final White Rabbit sweet after I finished the design :( No more left. I used the packaging as inspiration, I've just realised this is another food inspired post.

I used pale yellow as that's the colour of the sweet. I was originally really unhappy with how the bunny came out as I didn't put it straight and regretted the decision to do that. But now I like it. I made the tribal designs myself, which could be which they look a bit weird, but I'm proud of my attempt, weirdness is a start.
Pale Yellow: w7 - Sheer Lemon
Red: Essie - E-Nuff Is E-Nuff
Blue: Nails Inc - Baker Street
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
Pink: Barry M - Strawberry Ice Cream
Sheer Lemon's formula wasn't too great, 3 coats was still a bit streaky so I did 4, but it's a nice colour. And I didn't use Dutch Tulips for once ;)

Thank you very much for reading and have a lovely day!! :)

31 Day Challenge - Day 24 - Inspired by a book

I wanted this to be inspired by a children's book as generally there are pretty pictures to copy from. I chose Lettice the Dancing Rabbit by Mandy Stanley. It was a childhood favourite of mine. The pictures within the book are adorable so I had to try and copy them.

I basically copied pictures from the book onto my nails.

It didn't turn out well. My second finger with the ballet shoe just didn't work at all. And otherwise the pictures were of bad standard, I guess I was tired and not very bothered.

The only finger I liked was my thumb, where the rabbit "Lettice" was. Looks cute :3 Gosh my fingers are so messy :P

Colours used:
(I have a different picture for this as the original picture got deleted acidentally, nothing to do with technology, just me failing)

Pale Yellow: w7 - Sheer Lemon
White: Natural Collection - White and Sally Hansen - French White Tip
Pink: Per Una - Pink
