Neon brushstrokes + tribal nail art

Hey there guys!! We're nearing November and made it through October alive. I had my formal (or "prom") last week and that was fun and that was my last crazy event and I'm enjoying the week off school I've been blessed with. Meaning I did nothing productive lol. Need to sort that. I think November'll be nice. I know it's Halloween time but let's be real Halloween is one day of rubbishness, I have no nail art for that. Also I have nail art I'd prefer to do. Like this little design that was pretty rad, I love neons.

So I used the distressed thing but with neons and since neons are sheer it went well and contrasted that with a jet black geometric design and it's sweet if I do say so myself. It's so striking and I love that. Also I love triangles, fun fact.

So we know how brushstrokes go down with the wiping off all the polish from the brush and going with that. Then I got my toothpick and painted the black pattern, I just went with random designs there's no real correlation. I try my best to do freehand straight lines, I think I've got quite good at it over the years. Of course they're not ruler straight but we do the best we can :)

White: Barry M - Cotton
Black: Rimmel - Black Pearl
Pink: Nails Inc - Notting Hill Gate
Yellow: American Apparel - Neon Yellow
Orange: Models Own - Beach Party
Purple: Orly - Frolic
Green: China Glaze - I'm With The Lifeguard

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Colourful half triangles + Pink glitter nails

Hey there!! Hope you're having a good day and life is being cool with you right now. I now it can be overwhelming, I've been there, done that and there's a chance I'm going back cause I do A levels haha but not really. Today I have a sweet mani cause I love geometric patterns, I was once again inspired by Base Coat Top Coat but different colour scheme. Was in a bit of a creative slump, let's hope I get out haha.

I really really liked this look cause it's really cool, I love uniformity. I was going to do a full design but those 3 nails took ages so I was like "Ok that's enough" and I like accents so it all works out. I love the kind of grid pattern the spaces in between the triangles left. I wasn't sure of the rainbow triangles but I like the way it looks. The more colours the better right?

I got my toothpicks and did the little triangles one by one, so as you can imagine is why it all took so long. Like it's not perfect but I'm still happy, when you're freehanding perfection doesn't happen but that's the charm of it.

Blue: Nails Inc - The Tide Is High
Pink: The Face Shop - Strawberry Milk Yogurt
Rainbow triangles (in rainbow order): M&S - Poppy, OPI - Where Did Suzi's Man-go?, Essie - Fear Or Desire, Rimmel - Bee A Honey, Barry M - Pole Position, Barry M - Kiwi, OPI - Jade Is The New Black, Barry M - Malibu, Barry M - Prickly Pear, Orly - Frolic (my current favourite), Barry M - Miami, OPI - Charged Up Cherry and Rimmel - Black Pearl

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Colourful triangle pattern nails

Hey there!! You're probably busy right now just cause everything always seems to be busy. But while it's busy I hope that it's also worthwhile. One of the reasons I've been posting less is cause I have my Grade 8 piano coming up in less than a month and a girl has to practice and keep her nails short. But short nails can still have sweet designs.

Triangles are my favourite shape, they're just edgier than circles and squares. I think about shapes more than most cause I do A level maths. It's hard, I'm sure you guys who've done it know that. Anyway getting away from maths I love the bright colours and just how cool the triangle pattern looks. It's just mega fun.

I used toothpicks to freehand this as usual, as you can tell the triangles are not all the same size but that doesn't bother me. It's just so uniform and I like that sometimes.

Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Red: OPI - Jinx
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire
Green: Barry M - Kiwi
Blue: Barry M - Malibu

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!! :)

Tessellating Triangle Nails

Hey there!! Life's been a little bit hectic lately but I'm trying to find balance. My whole life I've been trying to find balance and I don't think I've got there yet, balance is hard. So today I have some funky cool geometric nails, I just love triangles so here I am more triangles but colourful ones that look quite cool.

I had a silver base and I guess I just wanted some geometric nails then I saw a cool triangle pattern. I painted the triangles with the flow cause I just kind of gave up with following the pattern. So I went a bit loose and free with the triangles. I have to say the textured polishes made the design, the extra sparkle and something something was really significant.

I used my toothpicks and just freehanded them triangles. When it came to positioning I tried to get them all the same size (hard, it was hard and I didn't complete succeed) and I just guessed where the triangles would fit in the design. It was quite successful overall I guess. All the colours do make me happy.

Silver: w7 - Silver Mirror
Textured Blue: Essie - Lots Of Lux
Teal: Barry M - Guava
Textured Purple: OPI - My Current Crush
Purple: Illamasqua - Jo'Mina

Sparkly Red: OPI - Jinx over Barry M - Carousel
Light Orange: Rimmel - It's a Scorcher!

Blue Tribal Nails (inspired by my top!)

Hiya you!! I hope you're chilling and on holiday and if not you're having a good time regardless. I really like tribal nails so I did some, based on this really pretty top I love from Bershka (aka my favourite clothing store). Though I changed up the colours and the whole design (including the base) very much went with the flow.

This is a different kind of tribal that's less uniform and there must be a name for this kind of design that I clearly don't know. Triangles are a great shape and I'm happy to have lots of them here. The colours were nice together and it's funky haha.

I used a bunch of toothpicks of the different colours for this design, a lot of time I went away from the design of the t-shirt and added extra triangles and stuff.

Base: Revlon - Dreamer, Barry M - Silver Glitter, Barry M - Amethyst, Rimmel - Disco Ball, OPI - Polka.com sandwiched by Barry M - Blue Moon. Which looked really really nice by itself, who knew Blue Moon would be such a great sandwich topper(?) and all of the glitter was of course great, though potentially I could've got a little bit carried away.
Blue: Essie - Lots Of Lux, I needed this in the design cause it's so gorgeous and I had a Lots Of Lux craving haha
Pink: Barry M - Fuchsia
Green: Barry M - Kiwi
Gold: Topshop - Naked and w7 - Golden Sands

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a marvellous day!! :)

Fun Triangle Nails

Hey there, I hope you're having a good day. I have nail art today (woop woop) and I really really like this one. I've always loved a good geometric design and I think I have managed to achieve this time. The uniformity and regularity of geometric designs look so cool and balanced. Hey I always like a good bit of balance.

How colourful!! How fun!! This is the feeling. I'm happy with how neat I managed the triangles, it was time consuming. But worth it!! I really like those colours together too. Of course I needed some variation so I did some glitter placing, I should've just done the same triangles for the whole design. But I do like some placed glitter (and glitter in general not gonna lie) and I like adding some interest.

Yep like usual I got my toothpicks and just painted those triangles, no other rhyme or reason I just painted them on. For the glitter, I fished the glitter out of the respective bottles (which was sometimes slightly hard cause there's lots of different colours of glitter in the bottle that wants to stick together) and placed. Sometimes there was a lot of fishing haha.

Base: Barry M - Fuchsia and Barry M - Superdrug 50th Birthday
Orange: Rimmel - It's a Scorcher!
Blue: H&M - Blue My Mind
Green: Barry M - Kiwi
Purple: Illasmasqua - Jo'Mina
Plum glitter: Orly - Ridiculously Regal
Aqua and Purple glitter: OPI - Polka.com
Neon Yellow, Pink, Green and Blue glitter: Claire's - Dizzy
Matte Pink, Green, Blue and Red glitter: The Face Shop - CMX321
Orange glitter: Barry M - Superdrug Xmas LE 2012 B and The Face Shop - Vanilla Sugar Yogurt (which ended up being a huge mistake cause the white base of that polish really interfered)
White glitter: Claire's - Fluffy

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a fabulous day!! :)

Cool-toned Sliding Geometric Nails

Hey there my favourite chums, my title makes this design seem fancier than it really is but that doesn't mean I like it any less. I actually really like it, though I do like most geometric designs. I saw a geometric pattern, thought it was sweet and used for inspiration for my nails.

Yeah I think geometric designs are awesome, and I like the diamonds in this one, how the shapes kind of "slide" together. And letting the glitter base shine through was something else I liked. The jagged edges are pretty beast too, I like some rough edges. Of course I like all the colours too, ok pink isn't cool-toned but this shizz is pretty cool in general.

I can't get away from that black outline, but I like black outlines so expect more of them. I drew the outline then filled in the shapes with various polishes with toothpicks.

Base: Essie - Lilacism and Nails Inc - Westminister Bridge Road
Blue: H&M - Blue My Mind
Rose Pink: OPI - Japanese Rose Garden
Teal: Barry M - Guava
Mint Green: China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint
Jade Green: Max Factor - Cool Jade
Bright Green: Barry M - Greenberry
Cherry Pink: OPI - Charged Up Cherry
Cornflower Blue: Essie - Bikini So Teeny
Light Purple: Barry M - Berry Ice Cream
Purple: Illamasqua - Jo'Mina
Hot Pink: No. 7 - Me! Me! Me!
Dark Purple: OPI - Plum & Get It
Sparkly Blue: Essie - Lots Of Lux
Dark Pink: Barry M - Fuchsia
Light Blue: The Face Shop - BL601
I like using all the colours. Quite clearly.

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Triangle + V Leopard Print

Hi there guys!! It's about time for a leopard print right? I've been really good about my 2 leopard a month limit that I haven't been doing them (slightly due to my not painting as much), mostly because I've been doing quite a lot of different types of nail art. I like that.

I wanted to create some shapes with the leopard spots, and I like the almost cascading effect on my index to pinky fingers. Leopard shapes are pretty cool. Not gonna lie. But not gonna lie I could've come up with a much better colour scheme.

I created the leopard spots with my white pen, filled them in with nail polish with the brushes and went round the spots with my black pen. Usual fare, nothing exciting.

Blue base: w7 - Mosaic
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Pink: The Face Shop - PK105
Orange: Models Own - Beach Party
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Green: Barry M - Greenberry
White base: Lovely Me:Ex - White

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

31DC2013: Day 4 - Green Nails

Hi there guys!! Today was a day I went in not knowing what I wanted to do, sometimes these are the best days (or the worst) as anything can come to you. I painted my nails with Barry M Greenberry and went from there.

I decided I wanted some kind of geometric thing on my accent and thumb so I drew some lines. I thought of those studs that look nice near your cuticle so angular hearts came from that. The middle finger hearts ended up a bit too big than I wanted it to be but then it ended up being perfect for when I saw a star on my thumb and used pink to highlight it. I drew another heart on my middle finger to connect the pink from my thumb into the mani. It was like filling in the gaps with all the colours, I had fun.
After I was done I was completely satisfied, I think this is mosaic-esque and all the triangles there are my favourites. I think is super cool and edgy (which is my aim cause I'm pretty much the opposite of edgy).

By the way I do hope to get some studs one of these days, they look awesome. After filling in the spaces I would go over the outline again with the black pen to make is crisper. I had a kind of plan going into this but I scrapped it (coincidentally like last year, but last year's was a mess). It was simply to add some bows, it's quite clear why I didn't do this, too simplistic (no offence to bows, they're cute). Whilst I probably would've gone crazy with other elements, I'm loving the design I created instead.

Blue Green: Barry M - Greenberry
Light Green: China Glaze - Re-Fresh Mint
Neon Green: China Glaze - I'm With The Lifeguard
Dark Green: OPI - Jade Is The New Black
Pink Foil: Barry M - Boots Xmas LE2012 B
Medium Pink: Orly - Basket Case
Rose Pink: OPI - Japanese Rose Garden
Red-y Pink: OPI - Charged Up Cherry
Neon Pink: Nails Inc - Notting Hill Gate
Dark Pink: Color Club - Wing Fling
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White base for the neons and dark pink: Lovely Me:Ex - White

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a great day!!! :)

My Top 10 Favourite Nail Art Of This Blogging Year :D

Hello there you fantastic, extraordinary, amazing people!!!

Happy blogaversary to me, happy blogaversary to me, happy blogaversary to me, happy blogaversary to ME!! If you couldn't tell, today is my blogaversary. Frankly I find this crazy, it's been a year since I started this blog (also coincidentally my 222nd post). I really didn't know if I'd continue after a month since the internet in general confuses me, but I persisted to find my love of blogging. I'm also proud of my update schedule, I don't post everyday but I personally think I maintain a high amount of posts each month (well not currently due to exams).
This is my little haven where I can write any and everything about nail polish/nail art. It's perfect. In real life, if I was crazy obsessed nail polish girl. 1. Everyone would be creeped out and confused (I know a lot about nail polish) 2. No one would care, which makes me sad :( (not really haha). But here I can go as crazy as I want, mention every little detail and I'm not judged and (maybe) people find it interesting :) Which is the bomb (in a good way).
I may not have the most followers in the world (and that could definitely change in the future, imma still growing and finding ways to grow :)) but anyone who has followed, commented, played ANY part in Plumeria19 has meant SO MUCH to me. The comments I receive are the best things ever, they really make my day and more, e.g. today wasn't my greatest day, it's like these 2 guys were doing everything to try and ruin my day. But I remember my blogaversary and all you lovely people and I completely forget about all that. I am truly thankful for it all. And I promise every time someone follows this blog I do a raving happy dance (rave arms and everything). Every time. I really love the nail blogging community. Come on lovely people who only talk about nail polish/nail art, who can't love that? :)

Look at my first collage, isn't it spiffy? ;)
This time last year I started the 31 day challenge, but unfortunately things are too insane for me to do that right now but instead, in celebration I've decided to compile my favourite nail art of this year (also because I love lists). I know people normally do this at the end of the year, but I wanted to include a year's worth of designs. This blog is primarily freehand nail art, so duh I'll be showcasing my favourite nail art!! :D

10. Pastel Gradient Leopard Print. Because I couldn't not have leopard print in here. I did a legit gradient too (rare occasion), and combined makes number 10.

9. Geometric meets floral. I entered this into a contest (and lost, which I didn't really mind :)), and I found my love of geometric. Combine that with all the colours, it's a wonderful thing.

8. Rainbow Geometric Cupcake. This design basically combines all of my favourite nail art things, food, my favourite colour combination, an awesome glitter and triangles. 'Nuff said really.

7. Tigger. My 2nd ever blog post (so the photography is not so hot) and also my most popular post. The little Tigger is pretty adorable and my mum even approved of it (which is extremely rare).

6. Pop Art Cupid's Arrow. Within the post I explained I was extremely inspired by Professionaldq (who's pop art design I fell in love with), after using her tutorial I did the design again and changed it up, added the heart about to be shot by the arrows (but not that graphic). But this is how I realised I adore pop art (the uniform dots and how in your face it is), so props to her :)

5. Delicate Flowers + Gradient. My best floral nail art to date (in my opinion), the delicacy and the bombin' gradient. Finally my love of flowers being shown through nail art.

4. Ice Cream. I LOVE the colours used. I LOVE ice cream. I LOVE food nail art. I LOVE geometric. So I LOVE this design.

3. Rilakkuma. I didn't know the greatness of this bear. He's too adorable, and having him on my nails was so fun.

2. Paddington Bear. Oh hello another bear, coincidentally I use Baker Street as an accent in my top 2. Paddington Bear is number 2 because I am so happy with how I executed him. Having him as an accent was more than enough as I felt I was precise with his features.

1. Mario!! And here we are, number 1. My main man Mario who can make a mani (unintentional alliteration, love it). I am a massive Nintendo geek and this made me unbelievably cheerful having him on my nails. It's Mario (whom I think I painted well), Mario is awesome (I really have to get round to doing all the other characters).

So that's my favourite nail art of this year, I hope you enjoyed this post as I sure enjoyed writing it. Hopefully this next year will be filled with lots more nail art, new features and general improvement in everything. Thank you so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so much for reading this post or any post on Plumeria19 over the past year. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! :D Have a brilliant day!!!

Geometric Rainbow Cupcakes

Oh hey there guys!!! Hope you're having a great start to your week. I have been revising (whoop whoop), I have properly started after who knows how long of procrastination. On that note my posts will be reducing significantly for the next while. I have to spend less time blogging, which bums me out, cause I love it!! But hopefully late June I will be back with "regular" posting, but I won't be disappearing completely (hopefully anyway). I'll also be back with a snazzier blog (I'm hoping if I write it I'll actually do it, computer stuff scares me)!! :)
Since I'm painting less I wanted a nail design that I'd want to keep on for a long time, so of course I go back to geometric patterns and FOOD (I love food ^_^)!!

This might look a tash familiar, as quite recently I did similar design. But I loved that one, so another one can't hurt. Also I think it's rather different.
The geometric design is inspired by the inside cover of Esc (might do a full design inspired by it as it's awesome) by Clara C. I adore her music, I don't know why it took me so freaking long to get her new album. And it's amazing; I have to say the second half of the album is better than the first. My picks from the album are "You've Got It All", "Eventually", "By The Blue" and "Fish", but they are all great.
So I went with that colour scheme, and I wanted to paint another kind of dessert, but I really couldn't think of one, so cupcake had to do (good thing cupcakes are SO cute :3).
I especially like my index finger, to me it kind of looks like a robot. Which I think is funky.
Purple: Barry M - Prickly Pear
Red-y Pink: OPI - Charged Up Cherry
Orange: Essie - Tart Deco
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
Pink: Orly - Basket Case
I have been adoring Prickly Pear, it's gorgeous man. I used 3 coats, but you could probably do with 2. I wanted to use opaque colours as that makes everything so much easier, Charged Up Cherry, Tart Deco, Blueberry Ice Cream and Basket Case all fit the bill.

I have to mention the Color Club topcoat. It came with the set I got from TK Maxx. For one I wasn't sure if it was topcoat or basecoat cause it didn't say!! But I reckoned it was topcoat (still not really sure, but pretty certain).
Topcoats are scary for me as all they do is smudge for me, but the smudging was near non-existent this time (:O). I applied at snail's pace, I'm being serious, I applied it SOOOOO slowly, which probably helped. The topcoat is also really shiny, it has an almost gel-like consistency. Don't accidentally get some in your cuticles as it comes off weirdly and makes your fingers look dry. It's very thick as well, I couldn't get a thin coat.
But the thing that really surprised me was that my manicure was super smooth after. I know that's what topcoat is meant to do, but I find a lot of the time it's still lumpy after, less lumpy than before but lumpy nonetheless. So smooth this was, could've been due to the thick coats but it didn't dry thick. I was just surprised at the shininess and smoothness, topcoats aren't normally that nice to me.

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a lovely week!! :)

Celebrate good times, comeon?

Hi there nail people!! I'm not sure about my title, the nail art is related but really I have no good times to celebrate right now. All I have to look forward to are exams and to put it simply I am not looking forward to exams :'( I've had a lazy day today (as I have everyday), I really do need to do some kind of work, but blog post first (procrastination at it's highest levels :/). I have some simple nail art today, those banner things you put up at parties, apparently they're called "bunting".

I like triangles, this is quite cute. It could be a funky half moon manicure... I really have nothing else to say, this is a first. No ramble from me today ;)
Pink: Barry M - Fuchsia and Revlon - Belle
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Green: Illamasqua - Nomad
Purple: Essie - Lilacism
Dark Blue: Kiko - 265
I've never know how to describe Belle until now, it's small silver and iridescent glitter (they're tiny squares!!!) with larger holographic pieces of glitter. It's a nice one, my best friend got it for me almost 2 years ago. Once again thanks to her :)

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely productive day!! :)

Geometric Diamonds (if spiders liked geometry)

Hi there!! How are you all, I'm hoping good. During the holidays I never know what to do, as much as I love the holidays (soon when my proper exams begin holidays will cease to exist D:) I sit around wondering what to do. But currently I'm thirsty, after this post I'm gonna get a drink :P Today I have some rather random nail art, I did some glitter gradients then drew something on top. I really don't know, they weirdly remind of diamonds (strange diamonds) or if spiders made geometric webs.

This is probably the kind of design that would grow on me. just looks... strange (but kind of cool). I like the uniformity of the index finger. I want to experiment with the pattern for another time. I'm surprised with how much I like the purple gradient, Shambolic really works in this case.
Purple: Essie - Lilacism
Pink: OPI - Charged Up Cherry
Purple Glitter (lightest to darkest): Nails Inc - Abbey Road, China Glaze - Luxe and Lush and Butter LONDON - Shambolic
Pink Glitter (lightest to darkest): OPI - I Lily Love You and OPI - Excuse Moi!
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Charged Up Cherry is really red in the pictures, and in all honesty really red in real life too, I'm not too keen on that.

Thank you for reading and have a nice day! :)

Pink + Black Triangles

Hi there!!! The long week is over once again, darn school for giving me a gazillion homeworks and tests but I'll freak out about that later -_- I've been in a very triangular mood (you can feel triangular too!!!), so I freehanded some triangles once again. You can't go wrong with triangles :P

They're kind of like black Doritos, or ones that are severely out of date. Sometimes the design looked really cool, other times not so much. It looks nice in the pictures so I'll take it ;)
Pink: The Face Shop - PK105 with OPI - Excuse Moi!
Black: Topshop - Gypsy Night and Rimmel - Black Pearl
I also made this matte and Excuse Moi! looks cool matte.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!! :)

Primary Triangles + Glitter + Cupcake = LOVE

Hi there guys!!! Hope you all had a wonderful day, cause I pretty much had a wonderful day and I hope for people to feel the same!!! Today's nail art design, is very very me. Every element is something I love, there's geometric, glitter and of course some cute food.

I love the colour combination of red, yellow, green and blue. Oh my, it kind of reminded me of those fun banners you hang up at street parties or something. I was unaware that the triangles were inspired by an idea I have for a nail polish line (currently a distant dream :P). When I do geometric patterns I tend to only do triangles :/ I love triangles ok. I wanted a nude base and I actually really like the way it looks, the glitter looks awesome over the nude. I need to incorporate cute food into EVERYTHING I do, it was meant to be ice cream but I was like "That's familiar", so cupcake it was.
Nude: w7 - Linen ( has a great formula, you could totally get away with 1 coat. I did 2 of course)
Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Green: Illamasqua - Nomad
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
(Awesome) Glitter: Barry M - Superdrug Xmas Limited Edition 2012 B
I was also in the mood for matte nails (it's been too long), so that's what I did. I was careful in case of smudging (my nail art bane of existence) and thankfully it turned out right :)

Thank you very much for reading and have a wonderful day!!! :)

Pick 'N Mix: Geometric + Glitter

Hey there guys!!! I decided to start a new series (I love making up series, not gonna lie), because why not? ;) I'm making these pick 'n mix posts random skittles that really are just random. I was inspired by someone's schoolbag I saw and I thought the pattern looked really cool, I saw the brand and looked it up. I wasn't creepy and didn't take a picture or anything, kind of awkward now though cause I asked to take a picture of someone else's bag for nail art inspiration. She understood but more on that in the future :/ Then everything stopped fitting together and I rolled with it.

The bag was from a brand called Mi-Pac and the bags look nice but the triangle one is really the only one with substance (from the range I saw). I changed things up a bit then the glitter happened and everything went crazy. There were several points where I really disliked this design but it's good how small things can fix up a design for you. It just shows you shouldn't give up!!! I'm gonna write more about the "glitter gradient" nail tomorrow, where I have a different design with it. The geometric design isn't as nice as I'd like it to be but even though everything is so mix matched here I still quite like it, everything doesn't have to go together ;)
Green: Barry M - Mint Green
Pink: The Face Shop - PK105
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White and Models Own - Snow White
Dark Green: OPI - Jade Is The New Black
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Light Blue: Revlon - Blue Lagoon
Dark Blue: Kiko - 265
Yellow: Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream
Green/Blue Glitter: Orly - Go Deeper
Red/White/Blue Glitter: Barry M - Superdrug Xmas LE 2012 B
Sometimes a bit of mish mash is a good thing. I think this looks better in real life, you can see the mistakes clearer :P

Thank you for reading and have a great day!!! :)

Year of the Geometric Snake

Hey there guys!!! Happy Chinese New Year (to all those who celebrate :))!!! We had all our festivities last night, food a plenty ;) I wasn't sure whether I was going to do a design or not, it was on the back of my mind but I wasn't really thinking. But I felt geometric (cause that's feeling) and I had a design in mind so I went for it.

I made it matte cause I love matte nails. I looked up some geometric patterns and copied a triangle one. I love the way geometric patterns look, so cool!!! The snake wasn't meant to look shoehorned in, but in hindsight it does look shoehorned in. Doesn't mean I don't like it, I like it very much. I kind of randomly painted a snake and thankfully it worked (I love when that happens). He's a cute one (if I do say so myself).
Robin's egg blue: The Face Shop - GR501
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Pale Blue: The Face Shop - BL601
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips
Green: Illamasqua - Nomad
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Pink: Orly - Basket Case
Yellow: w7 - Sheer Lemon
You can't really see the pale blue which kind of annoys me but I was determined not to use a darker blue, I'm not too fussed though, design was still fine.

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!!!! :D

Geometric meets floral

Hello there guys. I hope you are all well, I have homework to attend to but I have time to write this first ;) This is my entry to Kelsie's Nail Files nail art competition. I loved the pictures on her Pinterest board and I think it's a great theme for the competition. The shorts on her board immediately drew my attention but I didn't know what to do with it. 2 other pictures also grabbed my attention and I kept coming back to them, so I decided to use those pictures as inspiration for this design. This is the result.

I'm very very happy with the result, it's definitely become a new favourite nail art that I've ever done (I hope that makes sense :/). I love geometric patterns, I must do more and the floral pattern is SO simple but it looks really pretty. Again I have to do more. For the triangles I used the picture at the beginning but I began to improvise the design and randomly fill in the triangles. I like how spiky the triangles are at the cuticles of my middle finger.
Geometric pattern polishes:
Mushroom: Nails Inc - Porchester Square
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
Pink: Essie - Your Hut Or Mine?
Silver: w7 - Silver Mirror
Peach: w7 - Linen
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Gold: w7 - Golden Sands
Blue: Kiko - 265
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Floral pattern polishes:
Pink: Orly - Basket Case
Red: Essie -  E-Nuff Is E-Nuff
Mustard: Topshop - Naked
This was the first time I used Porchester Square as something other than a nail art colour, it's like the opposite of a me colour but I like it and the formula is great, I used 2 coats but you could definitely get away with one. Still not turning to neutrals anytime soon though. It was heart breaking to sponge over my geometric design (I painted it carefully) but I'm glad it led to something better.
