31DC2013: Day 4 - Green Nails

Hi there guys!! Today was a day I went in not knowing what I wanted to do, sometimes these are the best days (or the worst) as anything can come to you. I painted my nails with Barry M Greenberry and went from there.

I decided I wanted some kind of geometric thing on my accent and thumb so I drew some lines. I thought of those studs that look nice near your cuticle so angular hearts came from that. The middle finger hearts ended up a bit too big than I wanted it to be but then it ended up being perfect for when I saw a star on my thumb and used pink to highlight it. I drew another heart on my middle finger to connect the pink from my thumb into the mani. It was like filling in the gaps with all the colours, I had fun.
After I was done I was completely satisfied, I think this is mosaic-esque and all the triangles there are my favourites. I think is super cool and edgy (which is my aim cause I'm pretty much the opposite of edgy).

By the way I do hope to get some studs one of these days, they look awesome. After filling in the spaces I would go over the outline again with the black pen to make is crisper. I had a kind of plan going into this but I scrapped it (coincidentally like last year, but last year's was a mess). It was simply to add some bows, it's quite clear why I didn't do this, too simplistic (no offence to bows, they're cute). Whilst I probably would've gone crazy with other elements, I'm loving the design I created instead.

  1. Oh oohh!!! I like the star on the thumb best! Especially how the colours all contrasted nicely against each other! Also the idea of mosaic-heart-studs super cool too! Hehe, great job on today's challenge! In my opnion, i think they turned out beautifully! :D I love those unexpected outcomes, they always tend to become the best - serendipity!

    1. Hehe I like the star too (I don't know why I'm so big on stars right now), I'm glad this idea came randomly, you're so right they can become favourites when you don't expect them to be!! Thank you very very much!! :D

  3. Love this and the other designs I am looking back at now...please please consider adding another way to follow you other than Bloglovin' = it's filled with quirks for some folks (like me) and they have on on problems with their dashboard and it linking off to blank pages...they have written to me 3 times now apologizing saying they know they have issues and are working on it...but I don't have time to go to Google and take the blog names off my blogloving and look each one up. Email following is what many folks have switched to since google reader went off line and it (for me) seems the best - I always preferred it anyway over reader because it works no matter what device we are using.

    1. Hey thanks!! :) And thanks for your feedback and being willing to follow this blog, I'll try to figure out how to set up a follow by email thing. I'm glad that the issue is bloglovin/google and not me cause then I'd have no idea how to fix it :)
