Tessellating Triangle Nails

Hey there!! Life's been a little bit hectic lately but I'm trying to find balance. My whole life I've been trying to find balance and I don't think I've got there yet, balance is hard. So today I have some funky cool geometric nails, I just love triangles so here I am more triangles but colourful ones that look quite cool.

I had a silver base and I guess I just wanted some geometric nails then I saw a cool triangle pattern. I painted the triangles with the flow cause I just kind of gave up with following the pattern. So I went a bit loose and free with the triangles. I have to say the textured polishes made the design, the extra sparkle and something something was really significant.

I used my toothpicks and just freehanded them triangles. When it came to positioning I tried to get them all the same size (hard, it was hard and I didn't complete succeed) and I just guessed where the triangles would fit in the design. It was quite successful overall I guess. All the colours do make me happy.

Brown Nails: The Face Shop - GL112

Hello there guys!! It's another swatch today and this has to be one of my favourite brown polishes. Again not that means much but it is true. This is a cool polish that I was given ages ago and there's no sign of gloopiness whatsoever.

GL112 (cool name bro) is a shimmery foil-like light brown which can have a subtle green/purple shimmer. As I said it's a cool polish and it's very shiny in a reflective sense which is always nice.

This is quite an old Face Shop polish, it's in the old style of bottle (which isn't actually that old) and I don't think it's available anymore :/ But from all The Face Shop polishes I show here I do really like them and the gems are really fantastic.

I used 2 medium coats for full opacity but in my pictures it seems it isn't opaque was it definitely was in real life and the formula applied very well, no issues.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Nautical Print Nails

Hello there guys!! I was feeling like some nautical nails and so I did some nautical nails. Nautical never disappoint me, they're like textbook cute with a great colour combo and really cute patterns. I really like this one today!! :)

So I was going for different nautical "prints" with hearts, anchors, stars and stripes. I really like that heart print, ever since my Reese and Cyrus Animal Crossing design I have been <3ing heart print, it's so simple but SO CUTE!! I always like anchors so that worked well for me. The duff nail is the star and stripe one but I think it adds to the design; go double accents ya'hear!!
Also Last Friday Night is such a super pretty polish, I totally forgot. It's the perfect subtle, delicate (that blue shimmer though) glitter.

For all the prints I used my toothpicks carefully and the stripes were with the brush of the polish, that's why they a little bit messy (but such are stripes).

Light Blue: Barry M - Sugar Apple
Red: Essie - E-nuff Is E-nuff
Blue: H&M - Blue My Mind
White: Barry M - Matt White
Teal: Barry M - Guava
Glitter: OPI - Last Friday Night

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Silver Nails: w7 - Silver Mirror

Hey there guys, I did this is my first edition of Silver Nails!! I've never owned a silver polish before. I guess it's not really my colour and it's not really a colour people give cause ya'know it's all about the brights. This isn't even my polish, I stole it from my sister hahahahahahahaha. Don't worry she doesn't mind. Is silver an unloved colour? You decide.

Silver Mirror is as you can guess a silver polish, I reckon it's more a foil than a chrome or anything like that. Not that I know much about foils or chromes or anything. But yeah I like it, it's cool, and it's kind of reflective.

Silver Mirror is a great name, this polish doesn't reflect images (ok I know it's not gonna be a real mirror polish). w7 has always created solid polishes and this is no exception, I've shown a lot of w7 polishes on this here blog and I really don't think I've come across a terrible one in any way. You want a solid silver polish, Silver Mirror is a good place to start.

The formula of foils tend to be very good and yes Silver Mirror does follow that pattern.I used 2 coats and the opacity was there and the formula was easy to work with. A downfall though, is that the tipwear for this is real. This polish wears away so easily, of course some topcoat would fix this but sometimes a girl doesn't always wear topcoat and she doesn't like to see the tips of her nails, hypothetically.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a funky day!! :)

The totally doable I have a life challenge! - Ikat monster

Hey there fine fellows, I have the final bonus part of the challenge today as this was one of the ones I missed in the early stages of the challenge and of course I wouldn't pass up a good ikat. I really like how they look!! I did want to do something a little different from your regular ikat, and this is what came of that.

Hopefully you can see the angry, not amused face on the 3 fingers in the middle. It's a monster. The thumb and pinky have spiky claw-like ikat print. This is how I do different. Yeah it's not my cutest look which is a reason why I'm not in love with it. But I'm happy with my branching out, trying something new!! Also with the glitter I included for this look; it looks great matte.

So I freehanded the white part with the brush of the polish. Actually I did the whole coloured bit with the brushes of polishes as I got too lazy to use the toothpick. I tried to do artistic strokes (like I've been doing a lot recently) and finally I used my black pen for the outlines and evil eyes and sad faces. Maybe I should've made it angrier.

Sorry for the slight blur
Purple: OPI - Plum & Get It, Models Own - Indian Ocean and OPI - Polka.com
White: Barry M - Matt White
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Yellow: American Apparel - Neon Yellow
Orange: Models Own - Beach Party
Pink: Barry M - Superdrug Summer LE 2013 A
Green: Barry M - Greenberry
Blue: Essie - Lots Of Lux
Red: Barry M - Carousel

This is the conclusion of this challenge and I had fun with the prompts and messing with them. I came up with some pretty wacky stuff sometimes. It's nice to do a challenge for once, as it may be a while 'til I do another one :/ Always busy I am. Thank you for reading and I hope you have a cool day!! :)

Purple Nails: OPI - Plum & Get It (Reswatched)

Hello!! We're still reswatching (not for much longer, I only have 1 more polish to reswatch!!) as my last swatch had major tip wear that for some reason I didn't fix up. But anyway today's swatch is much better and this is a nice polish. For the last while I have been a purple girl, it's a great colour.

Plum & Get It (appreciate the pun but it's not the best) is a deep purple with a hint of subtle shimmer and it's a cool polish. My only dark purple and it's a good one, look how nice it is in the pictures!! Even a not purple fan can enjoy this cause it looks all glowy.

You guys know I like an OPI, some may think they're overrated but I still really like them. Their cremes cannot be faulted and some of their glitter polishes are legit. I got this here polish from my bezzie, probably TK Maxx cause TK Maxx is a boss and seriously you can the best prices on nail polish.

I'm pretty sure this is a legit 3 coater, 2 thick coats would do the same job but for my thickness of coats I need 3. It glides well and there's really no formula issues but it's not a beautiful formula if you know what I mean.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

The totally doable I have a life challenge! - My favourite beverages

Hello there!! I hope you're doing great, I'm gonna complain again about how busy I am and why do I have all the homeworks? I've had to write a list to remember to do basic things. I forgot to take a shower -_- Just -_- I just want to relax like before but unfortunately school has begun and relaxing is just not on the schedule. So this is the final part of the challenge (I do have one bonus look though) and it's beverage; it's a bit random and though the look I created is basic, I really like it.

I just created patterns of all my favourite drinks. I like the simplicity and I think it's pretty cute. So drinks form thumb to pinky is strawberry milkshake, lemonade, water, orange juice and root beer. I LOVE those drinks. Skittles in general are fun too. I matted the manicure and I love the matteness, I forget how it can really add to a manicure. So the circles are meant to be bubbles.

I freehanded the details with toothpicks as usual and there was lots of little strokes of colour added for dimension. Not like fancy dimension, basic dimension but I think it works. Fancy dimension isn't me after all. Strawberries didn't really work out the way I wanted them to but I don't think it detracts.

Pink: Barry M - Dragon Fruit, OPI - I Lily Love You, OPI - Charged Up Cherry, Barry M - Strawberry Ice Cream and Barry M - Princess
Strawberries: OPI - Dutch Tulips, Rimmel - Sunshine over Barry M - Matt White and Barry M - Kiwi

Blue: The Face Shop - BL501, OPI - Get Your Number

Red Nails: Essie - E-nuff is E-nuff (Reswatched)

Hi there guys!! I have an old polish to show you today. I got it a while ago and it came from quite an old collection. But this is a really great one. In nail art it's easily becoming my go-to red cause it's fab.

'Pologies for the cuticles :/
E-nuff Is E-nuff is a light red creme with orange tones. I sometimes think of it as a tomato red. But otherwise there's not much to say apart from that it's a really nice shade.

I think this was from a Winter collection in 2010(?) but I found it in TK Maxx (that said I need to go to TK Maxx :P). I've always thought Essie was great and that regard still holds cause I love their particular shades and nice formulas.

Speaking of nice formulas, E-nuff is E-nuff definitely has one. It's an easy 2 coater that glides and is smooth and the thickness is probably perfect to most people.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a nice day!! :)

The totally doable I have a life challenge! - Striped Mostachioed Macaroons

Hey there guys!! Man it feels a while since I've written one of these. Been busy ya'know, having a life ;) I know this challenge is well and truly over but to be real I actually finished the challenge before August was over but it takes me a while to get things up :/ Anyway today was stripes and um yeah here's more food. Side note: I was watching Modern Family as I was painting these and oh my gosh Haley and Andy are my new OTP, I was crying from cuteness and new season is coming out this month!! But not like I can watch it cause I don't have cable.

Originally I was going to do a fruit basket but then I realised a previous prompt was pineapples so it'd be a bit fruit overload. Also cute food never gets old with me. I actually really liked the stripes by themselves, they were very Battenberg-esque. The filling is intended to be the moustaches, well I didn't plan it that way but it came out that way. It's more charming in my opinion anyway. I added extra glitter pieces cause I need extra stuff to fill space. Also glitter.
By the way I LOVE macaroons, I think they taste so good and that's not just the colour of them being a placebo, they are yummy ^_^

The stripes were freehanded and kind of straight. I did have to go back and touch up with the brush and toothpick. Otherwise the macaroons were painted with a toothpick and I placed glitter after fishing. The glitter was very prickly and some fell off (ring finger). But moons and stars though.

Yellow Nails: Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream

Hello guys, it's good to see you on this swatch day. It's always a good day when it's a Barry M. This was my first EVER Barry M, so it was almost received 4 years ago :O So yeah disclaimer this polish is good but my bottle is very gloopy. But you can understand why right?

Lemon Ice Cream is a nice paler yellow. But from the bottle you'd expect it to be paler but it comes out brighter on the nail. It's a nice yellow, the colour is nice even if you're not the biggest yellow fan like me.

If you don't know by thoughts on Barry M... You must be new :P No obviously I adore Barry M, it's by far my favourite nail polish brand and I can't wait to get my hands on some Autumn Gellies ^_^ The Ice Cream polishes came out quite a while ago, but there were a bunch of them and they're all pastel and I'm pretty sure I am them all.

Sorry the polish looks a little gloopy here
Now the coats were more thick and gloopy than most peoples' bottles but even before that the formula is generally very thick and maybe some people would really dislike that. I personally don't mind it but it;s not the easiest formula. I used 3 coats and it was still a little bit streaky but I didn't think it needed another coat. You know yellow formulas, they're never the best.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

The totally doable I have a life challenge! - Guilty pleasure = Hey Baby by DJ Ötzi

Hey guys, I'm still here doing the challenge. I'm also still here with a bunch of homework I'm procrastinating on. This is my life guys. You can't change me!! The prompt was guilty pleasure. Now I have a lot of guilty pleasures. Frankly the majority of my hobbies are guilty pleasures, whether it's gaming, reading or 1930's music I felt they didn't truly capture the essence of a guilty pleasure. That's why I've decided to pick a song that really is a guilty pleasure but I love it with all my heart. Guys, the guilty pleasure is real.

So I decided to create a design based on the feeling of the song. Which of course called for pop art. I think the explosion around the "Hey Baby!" really reflects the emotions in the song. There is an exclamation mark on my index finger to show that this "Hey Baby!" is exclaimed!! I wanted a more basic colour theme and I thought it was sweet. I do really love pop art cause it just looks really cool, edgy and bold.
But seriously Hey Baby is such a song. I first heard it when I was 5 and when I recently rediscovered it over the summer; now I can't help but belt it out all over the house. It's just that kind of song that needs to be spread to send out happy vibes. That "heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey" cannot be topped. Or the oohs and the ahhs haha. It's just a nice regard too; so many songs are about being too cool for people but this one is the opposite. It's willingly asking something that people think they are too above to ask. Let's not even start on the happiness the key change brings me. It's just great.

After some research I realise this song was a cover of a song in the 1960's and was the unofficial theme of the 2002 FIFA World Cup. It was also No. 1 in the UK, Ireland, Australia and Japan. That's pretty legit. If this song doesn't make you feel warm inside, then my friend you have a heart of stone ;)

I started with the shapes before putting the outlines on them. I think it was neater this way. I used a mixture of a brush and a toothpick. The writing was with a toothpick and that was hard. I did the little dots with bobby pins and that worked out pretty well.

Base: Essie - E-nuff Is E-nuff and OPI - Jinx
White: Barry M - Matt White
Yellow: Topshop - Naked and American Apparel - Neon Yellow
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Green: Barry M - Kiwi, Rimmel - Block Your Green! and Orly - Go Deeper (i.e. the saviour of the writing)
Blue: Revlon - Dreamer
Light Green: Etude House - Play 86
Shiny Blue: Rimmel - Azure
Orange: Rimmel - It's a Scorcher!
Medium Green: Illamasqua - Nomad
Dark Blue: H&M - Blue My Mind

Thank you so much for reading this long and I sound crazy post and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Pink Nails: OPI - Japanese Rose Garden (Reswatched)

Hey there guys!! Hope you're having a nice day so far. I have a pink polish today if you couldn't tell, which you definitely could. My last swatch of this was just a complete shambles, the lighting was a mess and generally it just looked terrible. But we are mending this today.

I think my mind has kind of changed for this polish. I used to really not like this shade of pink but now I think it's actually quite nice. Japanese Rose Garden is a cool toned pink that's rather dusty in appearance. Dustier than in pictures. I think there might be the tiniest hint of silver shimmer but it's pretty invisible at all times. But it's quite a nice shade, I'm not hatin' :)

This polish is the bomb.com (I never say things like this) for water marbling. It's perfectly opaque and spreadable. Not that I water marble very much, I think I'll have to force myself to do another one (I do 1 a year). You guys know how I feel about OPI (maybe), nice colours, great formulas, pretty much the quintessential nail polish brand. Right?

Like the formula I mentioned for water marbling, it's totally perfect. It's so opaque, I used 2 thin coats but as usual 1 thick coat will do. It's so smooth and the easiest to apply. OPI really really really got the formula right here.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

The totally doable I have a life challenge! - Classy lace design

Hello there guys!! Happy September guys!! This is my catch up design for the first day of the challenge: classy. It's a very broad theme but I like that, means I can branch out in crazy directions. Nothing says classy to me like lace. Also recently I have been loving lace tops, they're so pretty.
On another another note I was wearing this design during my week off blogging (which was a while ago now...), where I was a leader in a summer scheme (it exhausted me, which was part of the reason I took a break) and the people liked this design (and the tropical beach one :)). This design also got destroyed by paint in that summer scheme when I joined the face painting crew hahahaha.
Yes I'm still doing this challenge when the 31 Day Challenge has started to roll. There is no way I'm doing that challenge unless I was insane. Girl has work to do. Girl has a life to run. That was the point of this challenge and the 31 Day Challenge is the opposite :P

I wanted the simplicity of black and white. I like white lace after all. I used an image from google images and changed it up a bit. Mostly from the fact that the lace is very fat (which it's ok with, it's accepted itself :P).
So there's mostly flowers and some hearts. Some curly lines and some leaves. I added extra lines within to make it more lacy? I do like it.

As you might be able to guess I got my toothpick and white polish and got to werk. My white polish is reaching gloopy stage (the stage every white polish inevitably gets to) but it's lasted much longer than other weaker white polishes. I also added a touch of glitter though the same toothpick method.

Black: Topshop - Gypsy Night
White: Barry M - Matt White
White textured polish: Barry M - Lady
Silver glitter: Barry M - Silver Glitter
Bonus glitter!: Essie - Shine Of The Times

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)
