Pink Panther Nail Art

Hello there guys!! Got some Pink Panther nail art today, now I haven't watched the new Pink Panther films but I know I watched one of the old ones and loved it. Unfortunately I have no idea which one it was, hopefully one day I'll find out cause it was so funny!! I remember one of the lines was something like "Maybe he's making me think it's a trap so it's not a trap, but it is a trap so that'll trap me but then maybe he doesn't want me to go so it's not a trap..." etc. etc. but then the villain said the same kind of thing. But in the end it was a trap. Any of you know which Pink Panther film that was?
I've had this on my to-do list for a while, but I always imagined that I'd be doing some kind of leopard print with it, not today!!

So there's the Pink Panther with some paw prints and a nice glitter accent. I think I could've painted more personality into my Pink Panther but I think I painted a more surprised version instead of a sneaky one. I do love The Teen Queen on my thumb, I think it's great over a darker pink, the shimmer goes crazy.

Sorry for the red-ish picture, it was bright that day
Painting over textured polish is different to say the least. I really just used toothpicks this time, the Pink Panther is hard to paint. Oh man proportioning, the ears aren't there and that's not because I wanted it that way, lots of touching up happened that day. I painted the outline in pink, that may be a first for me!!

Dark pink and glitter: Barry M - Fuchsia and Hare Polish - The Teen Queen
Pale textured pink: Barry M - Princess (I LOVE this polish)
Candy pink: Barry M - Dragon Fruit
Red-ish pink: OPI - Charged Up Cherry
Light Pink: Barry M - Strawberry Ice Cream
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Barry M - Matt White
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Purple: Illamasqua - Jo'Mina
Green: Barry M - Greenberry
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire
Teal: Barry M - Guava

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Brown Nails: Paris Collection - Mauve Melody

Hi there guys!! Brown nails, this is happening. I now realise how essential a brown polish is in a nail art perspective, it's needed. And I'm glad I have this one, I thought I didn't need it. But I do, but I would never wear it out by itself. I can't do that :P

I didn't think this polish was that shiny but my pictures made it seem that way. Mauve Melody is a medium brown (I'm not good with neutral polish descriptions) with red tones with a subtle purple-y shimmer. I think brown polish on me looks SO WEIRD, like my hands look weird too. Not that I really mind though, I'd never wear this out on it's own.

I don't know much about Paris Collection, at all. I don't see it on other blogs or anything, but it seems like a pretty good brand. I have a couple of polishes from them (they're neutrals which is why they don't see the light of day a lot) and they're good. A while back my friend gave them to me when she was leaving :'( I guess at the time we all didn't realise they weren't my colours, but I still have them in my stash. Yeah I thought I didn't need this one, but I did, and that was bad of me. I was going mental with the de-stashing, and now it seems like my collection has doubled anyway -_- More de-stashing has to be done -_-

The formula is very good on this one, 2 coats and you're sorted, no streaks or anything. The polish is very watery, but nothing unmanageable.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ruffian

Hi there guys, I have late Valentine's day manicure, I started doing these too late cause everything on this blog is late right now, so this is mad late :/ I thought I'd came up with some genius Valentine's manicure idea. So I thought chocolate covered strawberries but the chocolate being a ruffian manicure. But then it's not genius and the execution is dodgy, but at least it looks cute in pictures.

My first ever ruffian manicure, it's not very good. I thought I'd use french manicure stickers, but I'm too lazy for that business so I freehanded it. It's not very good and same goes for the strawberries. Though not gonna lie I like the manicure in pictures even though it's very messy. I don't like strawberry nails very much and my red decided to make things thick, so my topcoat couldn't do much about that and that's why some parts are mad messed up.

I used toothpicks for the tops of the strawberries and the weird seeds. Otherwise I'd use the brushes of the nail polish and my white pen for the base of the seeds.

Brown: Paris Collection - Mauve Melody
Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips (it's getting gloopy :/)
Green: Illamasqua - Nomad
Dark Green: Rimmel - Block Your Green!
Neon Green and Random Green: China Glaze - I'm With The Lifeguard and Barry M - Greenberry
Yellow and white base: Rimmel - Sunshine and Lovely Me:Ex - White
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

White Nails: Barry M - Matt White

Hi there guys!! Ok a post on plain white nails is a bit strange but you know what, I believe that each white creme should have some kind of review attached to it. I've had quite a lot white polish cause of the gloopiness problems I've had, I speak the truth about the white polish. But this is a Barry M, we shouldn't worry too much.

White creme, straight up no frills. There's no hint of other colours or shimmer or anything, this is your plain white creme. But throwing it out there, this polish isn't "matt", don't understand why it was named that way. Apologies for my hand being so red, my lighting was weird and I was cold (who knows if that's related but might as well throw that in).

I trust Barry M, and when I was looking for a new white polish, I was meant to get the Sinful Colors one. But it wasn't in stock :/ So obviously the next choice was Barry M (and Sinful Colors was only the first choice because it was cheap and held 15ml, not gonna lie might do that next white polish). I've had this polish since last June and it's holding up pretty well gloop wise (I bet it's gonna get gloopy now but whatever). I've used up over half of the bottle and it's Barry M, it's pretty good.

I used 2 thick coats, or another option is 3 thin coats. I was a bit sick of 3 coater white polishes so I try to do the 2 thick coats. And there's no bubbling issues or any of the nonsense. It applied well and yes there was the odd streak, but nothing unmanageable. I do think this is a good white polish to have *fingers crossed that this doesn't go gloopy now*, but it's doing a good job of not becoming gloopy currently.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Triangle + V Leopard Print

Hi there guys!! It's about time for a leopard print right? I've been really good about my 2 leopard a month limit that I haven't been doing them (slightly due to my not painting as much), mostly because I've been doing quite a lot of different types of nail art. I like that.

I wanted to create some shapes with the leopard spots, and I like the almost cascading effect on my index to pinky fingers. Leopard shapes are pretty cool. Not gonna lie. But not gonna lie I could've come up with a much better colour scheme.

I created the leopard spots with my white pen, filled them in with nail polish with the brushes and went round the spots with my black pen. Usual fare, nothing exciting.

Blue base: w7 - Mosaic
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Pink: The Face Shop - PK105
Orange: Models Own - Beach Party
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Green: Barry M - Greenberry
White base: Lovely Me:Ex - White

Gimme Glitter: w7 - Mosaic

Hi there guys!! Oh goodness I feel so behind on the blog, school has been throwing out the tests and the assessments and I've been so busy that painting is just not happening a lot. I don't think it'll be getting better anytime soon, so expect less posts from me and more "I've been so busy", cause I have and will be.
Today I have the 2nd polish I got from Poundworld with the "story", it's not very exciting at all I should stop hyping it. But the final polish in the trio is my favourite so at least there'll be a pretty polish there.

Mosaic is a medium blue base with small gold and dark blue/purple glitter. I'm pretty sure this is a dupe to Nails Inc Topping Lane, I wouldn't get this polish at the Nails Inc price cause I was never in love with that one. But if I can get the w7 much cheaper version I'm there. And this is lovely, I love blue polish so this was always going to appeal to me. Basically I love polishes like this, with all the packed glitter, Nails Inc - Sweets Way was in my favourites after all.

I do want all the polishes like this, so I'll be searching. I know Hard Candy have some like this but too bad I can't get my hands on Hard Candy. The Nails Inc is too expensive unless I LOVE it. It'd be real nice if w7 could release a ton more like this. I really like w7, good colours, good formulas, good price.

I thought the formula of Mosaic was great, I used 3 thin coats. But 2 will probably do, especially if they're thick coats. Each coat was glitter packed. This made the finish a lil' rough but nothing that topcoat can't smooth out.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!!! :)

Contrasting Rose Nail Art

Hi there guys!! Here's another Valentine's design, that's late hahaha. I do like all these lovey dovey designs, they can encourage cute (i.e. my favourite thing ever) but not sure how I feel about the actual day, like is it actually a holiday? I really just ignore it, but the whole chocolate, flowers, cards thing seems very manufactured and marketed to me. I shall not conform!!! Haha I don't care, that's my stance on it :P

I have mad struggles with rose nail art (I am the only one who finds them impossible), but this is the first time I'm genuinely proud of a rose design and I love this!! Especially the green and blue roses, they are cool. I went a bit crazy with the backgrounds (the orange and blue one, that could've been rethought) but it's different, and interesting. I used the Copy That Copy Cat rose method, I think it's great. I'm actually happy with how the roses turned out.

For the weird backgrounds I grabbed the polish brushes and went crazy, as suggested before. I used bobby pins for the roses, they were good. And whatever other detail I had for this manicure I used toothpicks.

Purple/Pink base with glitter: Illamasqua - Jo'Mina, Orly - Basket Case and Rimmel - Disco Ball
Orange/Blue base with "shakies" :/ (you can only see them kind of in the above picture): Models Own - Beach Party, Essie - Bikini So Teeny and M&S - Light Mix (really should only be used over darker colours)
Red/White roses: Barry M - Raspberry (I tried using OPI Dutch Tulips first and that failed), Barry M - Matt WhiteOPI - Jinx and Barry M - Lady
Greens of leaves: Illamasqua - Nomad and Rimmel - Block Your Green!
Blue/Green roses: Barry M - GreenberryKiko - 265 and Barry M - Aqua Glitter
Blue/Purple leaves: The Face Shop - GR501, OPI - Get Your Number and OPI - Plum & Get It

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!! :)

And then POP (art) goes my heart!!

Hello there you fantastic person!! I don't know if you get the title reference, it's from the movie "Music and Lyrics" that I watched AGES ago and didn't even finish. I do hope to finish it, I love a good chick flick. And on the note of chick flicks, and romance, here's my first Valentine's Day design (most awkward segue ever?). Everyone else seemed to be doing these designs last month but hahahaha as usual I'm late. Well Valentine's Day itself isn't late, but I have more Valentine's designs to come :/ But this design combines neon and pop art, 2 of my favourite things, obviously it was going to be love (see what I did there?).

Yep a pop art design with all my neons. It's a beautiful thing. My ring finger was inspired by Finger Painted then I went mental. From the pop art hearts to the explosions to the neon glitter. Neons make me unbelievably happy and all the colours... ^_^ I love those pop art dots in general and the whole design I feel comes together in a weird way.

I used my standard bobby pins, toothpicks and nail polish brushes for this look. I dabbed/brushed on Clowning Around, a bit hard to get an even distribution especially of all the glitter colours. But worth it in the end.

White: Barry M - Matt White
Neon Glitter: Lush Lacquer - Clowning Around
Yes this polish continues to bleed :'( but that can't stop it's beauty. I don't think anything can.
Pink: Nails Inc - Notting Hill Gate
Light Pink: Barry M - Superdrug Summer 2013 A
Orange: Models Own - Beach Party
Green: China Glaze - I'm With The Lifeguard
Blue: Nails Inc - Baker Street
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a lovely (;)) Valentine's day!! :)

Nude Nails: M&S - Sun Glow

Hi there guys!! Wow a nude nails post, who knew this would ever happen. And even crazier I really really really like this one. Who knew that would ever happen either!!

Sun Glow is a nude polish (sorry that is all I can describe cause I don't know enough about neutrals) with a lovely golden shimmer (that doesn't show up in pictures) that sometimes flecked orange/green. It's just so clean, almost refreshing. It's very pretty. I did not expect to like it as much as I do but it's lovely, almost mannequin hands. My skin tone is slightly darker, but it's like having no nail polish on but having nail polish on. That makes no sense but I'm not used to neutral nails.

I am so impressed by these M&S polishes as I've mentioned so many times, the colours are great and the formulas have been nice. Though Sun Glow was a big surprise polish for me.

I used 3 thick coats to eliminate all streaks. The formula on this one wasn't perfect but it was pretty good, and I don't mind extra coats. It went on nicely anyway. I can't say much more, it's good business.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

My Little (Chinese New Year) Pony

Hello there my fine folks!! Here is my Chinese New Year nail design!! Ok mine's a bit later than everyone else's but it's still Chinese New Year so it's not like I missed it. I did have this on at the start of Chinese New Year. Since this is the year of the horse I wanted to paint something unusual and not typical, so I tried to think of cartoon horses and that. But nothing came to mind. But after talking to my friend she said I could do My Little Pony nails, which was a total stroke of genius from her. I made it Chinese New Year by using Jinx as a base (suggested by the wonderful Lacqueerisa :)).

My Little Pony is such a cute series, I don't watch it myself but it's pretty clear that the cuteness can't be avoidable with that show. So I painted Rainbow Dash (who seems to be the shizz, it's the only pony anyone seems to know) with a rainbow cloud and Apple Jack (which I had someone tell me who Apple Jack is cause lol I didn't know, I just used pictures) and had an accent of Mars Attacks! for colour and cuteness, nothing wrong with that :P I love bright colours and cuteness and I think this design does that pretty well.

Surely we all know about the obsession with this show with male viewers, "bronies". Frankly I have no issue with it, I think it's funny and I'd probably be a fan of this show too if I watched it. They're probably all just trolling too which I'm definitely onboard with.
Painting wise I did my usual, white base and fill with nail polish and pens, I have to say the ponies were incredibly difficult to proportion, seriously I spent ages trying to get it right cause it wasn't happening. Thankfully I feel like I got it in the end cause otherwise I would not have been a happy bunny.

Sorry about the cut :/ Couldn't hide it in this picture
Red base: OPI - Jinx (it really is the perfect Chinese New Year polish)
Mint base: The Face Shop - GR501 and Glam Polish - Mars Attacks!
I layered Mars Attacks! this time and I'm not sure if I prefer it that way, when it's not layered there's more glitter and I thought if the polish was layered that would tackle the issue of glitter being covered up but it doesn't really. I'll have to see what I do in the future of this polish. Still love it though, can't say no to bright glitter.
White base: Lovely Me:Ex - White
Peach: w7 - Sheer Peach
Pale Yellow: Ciate - Loop The Loop
Neon Green: China Glaze - I'm With The Lifeguard
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Barry M - White
Pink: Barry M - Fuchsia
Red: Essie - E-Nuff Is E-Nuff
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Dusty blue: Revlon - Dreamer
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire
Green (that you can't see): Illamasqua - Nomad

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a lovely day (and had a great Chinese New Year, whether you celebrate it or not)!!! :)

Gimme Glitter: OPI - Lights Of Emerald City

Hello there wonderful folk!! I mentioned in my post about Barry M Raspberry I wore something on top of it for the production of Grease my school was doing. Yes I know glitter isn't v appropriate but once I finished painting I knew I needed glitter and my best friend gave me this polish and it's so nice that I had to. It's also linked to the fact that I love the musical Wicked and we study some songs from Wicked like "One Short Day" in our music class and we lol.

Perhaps red isn't the best base for this but I still really like it. I do want to find the right base for Lights Of Emerald City though. Those squares are awesome.
Lights Of Emerald City is a glitter topper with medium white squares and smaller opalescent squares. I've mentioned that I hate the opalescent effect but that isn't the case here. It looks awesome, the shift of orange to green is sweet and over different bases you get a more blue hue. The opalescent squares look particularly impressive over a darker colour.
Though the white square glitter has the same issue as the square glitter in Minnie Style as there's an extra hinge on one side and I don't like it. But it can be dealt with.

This came out with the Oz The Great and Powerful Soft Shades collection that came out last year. I remember I wanted this polish the moment I saw the promo pictures. But then I saw the swatches, and while I was still convinced the accessibility to this polish wasn't there and I gave up. But then Christmas and best friend who is incredible gets me this and it's great!! The sheer polishes in the Soft Shades collections are not my thing at all, but awesome glitter polishes I can do.

The base was a little thick and sometimes you wouldn't get that much glitter on the nail. So I came up with a method to get a crap ton of glitter on the nails. Basically I'd load up the brush and put it on a nail (and I mean load it up), but the base would be thick so then I spread the glitter on the other nails too so I'd get max glitter on the brush to the nails without it getting majorly thick. Like I'm proud of how many white squares I got :P
I used 2 glitter packed coats therefore making it a bit thick, but it seemed to not be as thick as it dried. There was a bit of glitter moving but nothing major, the formula isn't perfect but it definitely isn't bad.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Hello Kitty & The Diamonds

Hi there guys!! Happy Friday!! By the way my title isn't meant to refer to the singer (though her songs seem cute :P I haven't heard many though), it's merely an accident but I like accidents like that. I actually have not done that many Hello Kitty manicures and cartoons are right up my alley, so another was called for!! And yeah I love this manicure so Hello Kitty was the right call.

I'm loving this, I love the colours of the diamonds over the nude and of course Hello Kitty who is the quintessential cute cat. I feel like it all just comes together in this manicure. I like all the arrangements of the diamonds too, it's pretty cool, like those staircase diamonds. Yeah I love this, there's not much more to say, I love when designs like this come together and I'm not disappointed.

To be honest I messed up my Hello Kitty the first time round and I had to get a cotton bud and start that nail again, the proportioning was just all wrong. I was trying to give Hello Kitty a hat and it was a big fat fail. But otherwise I drew the details with a toothpick dipped in nail polish. The same goes for the diamonds.

Nude: M&S - Sun Glow
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White and Barry M - Matt White
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Red: Essie - E-Nuff Is E-Nuff
Pink: Orly - Basket Case
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Pink diamonds: OPI - Charged Up Cherry, OPI - Japanese Rose Garden, M&S - Peony, Barry M - Pink Foil, Barry M - Dragon Fruit and Barry M - Princess
Red diamonds: OPI - Dutch Tulips, M&S - Poppy, Barry M - Raspberry and OPI - Jinx
Orange diamonds: Essie - Tart Deco, Essie - Fear Or Desire, Models Own - Beach Party and Body Collection - Orange Pink (no name)

Gimme Glitter: Barry M - Fairy Lights

Hi there!! Oh man I've been so busy, I will be trying to get more nail art up but first I have to do more nail art. I've been really pressed for time, so I've got a Gimme Glitter today. I love glitter, hopefully you do too to appreciate these posts. I've said a lot that I really love the Barry M limited editions and this one is no different. I always say I think Superdrug get the better ones and this time I think it was the same deal. I was hunting for this during November and December and when it finally appeared I grabbed. Also the names, so glad there are names now and Fairy Lights is the cutest name!!

Holographic glitter, everything is holographic glitter. Oh my. Fairy Lights is your glitter topper FILLED with small pink holographic glitter. Sometimes simple is better and this is one of those times cause HOLOGRAPHIC GLITTER IS EVERYTHING.

I want Barry M limited editions forever, the Boots holographic glitter one was similar. But not pink, I wanted pink even though because of the holographic glitter they are pretty much identical. Using a darker pink as a base made the glitter stand out more though and in some lighting you could see the pink but it took away the holographic so you'd put it back in the light.

I used 2 coats (1 for thumb), as you know I like having a lot of glitter so 2 coats gave me tons. It spread great and it was beautiful. Oh you holographic glitter.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Rimmel - Disco Ball

Hi there guys!! Happy February, I still have a couple of "swatches" sitting in the bank (not that many) and my "swatching" steam is running out, so probably won't have as many this month.
This little polish was a gift from a friend (there's been a few like this, but somehow my friends know I like nail polish a lil' bit).
I used to hate Rimmel and now, I have no idea why cause their polishes worked fine for me. I honestly think I was going through a crazy phase cause I think Rimmel is fantastic now.

Disco Ball is a glitter topper with small blue and lavender glitter and holographic glitter. I LOVE holographic glitter, it's the perfect addition to this polish. Well holographic glitter is the perfect addition to any polish.

I have Rimmel polishes on my wishlist that I can't wait t get, they look so pretty and when looking through Rimmel's line their colours are so bright and pretty. Which is always an issue for me but I will be controlled.

I used 2 coats over M&S Ultraviolet, I like having a lot of glitter and this had quite a good amount for each coat. I wanna use this again and again for the holographic glitter alone. I'm sure this would look great over loads of colours.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a nice day!! :)
