Yellow Nails: Rimmel - Bee A Honey

Hey there!! It's a swatch day and this polish surprised me. I went out looking for a darker yellow, I really only have one shade of yellow in my collection and girl needs variety. I really was surprised.

Bee A Honey (lame pun but cute name) is an orange-y very Winnie the Pooh yellow creme. It's just such a fun colour!! I was surprised at how much I liked it and how I kept staring at how fun the polish is!! I don't know if I'm a yellow convert but I really really like this one. There's the whole 60 second claim which could be true but generally I ignore that stuff.

Rimmel is very on point, the colour range is fantastic and the price is great. Also their makeup is really nice on a side note!! I got this orange-y red lipstick from them called In Love With Ginger (shoutout to Ginger Rodgers!! :P) and I love it.

For a yellow polish the formula is really really good. I used 3 coats and it was very opaque, my nails are on the longer side and at 2 coats it was only a little bit streaky. Again so easy to apply so I was impressed.

Yellow Nails: Rimmel - Sunshine

Hey there, hope you're doing good. I'm still trying to swatch all my polishes and again we're getting closer and closer. I have about 2 more to go, that's close right? Then I can paint my nails whatever colour with accents to my heart's content instead of going with the whims of the to-swatch pile. This was one of the polishes I was flagging on cause the bottle almost empty so this is not the best swatch. The formula is surely much better but since there's so little polish left I really struggled.

Sunshine is a bright yellow creme, there's not much else to be said. I suppose there's a very subtle shimmer as well but subtle is the word. This is your standard bright yellow creme, I tend to use it for nail art cause it's a good shade except maybe not anymore cause I think this swatch used up whatever was left in the bottle.

I got this polish 8 years ago, isn't that crazy?? And like considering it wasn't that gloopy. It was the last day of primary school and I think yellow was my favourite colour at the time (how things change). Now I think yellow is hard to pull off however in school they were saying how I rocked it and I was totally amped haha. I'm pretty sure this polish is still in stock, it's kind of your generic yellow with a generic name, which isn't a bad thing. Rimmel is a good brand.

This was the hardest swatch I've ever had to do, I know it doesn't look all that great but considering the circumstances I think it's pretty solid. By the way the formula was totally fine when I initially had it but as I've said the bottle is now basically empty. Each coat was a struggle cause I couldn't get any polish out haha. So my review probably isn't the most accurate :/ Ignoring that, the polish was definitely buildable and here was 3 coats and it's almost full opacity, not helped by the half coats I had to do. But yellow polish tends to be more sheer in general and this is not a bad one. Topcoat helped to smooth this out but not completely, like it took a long time to get this swatch even half decent haha.

Yellow Nails: M&S - Maize

Hi there!! It's swatch day and yellow polish, not my favourite colour but sometimes it's fun. This is my second last Marks and Spencers polish so we are working our way through. Not that I know if I'll finish swatching my collection anytime soon cause my life goes everywhere really haha.

Maize is an orange toned yellow with a subtle yellow shimmer and it's nice but you know not my thing. It also really doesn't suit me and I had to paint something over it cause that yellow and my skin tone were not working together.

You know M&S does nail polish? I do go up and check but their colours aren't blowing my mind so I'm leaving them be cause I have so much self-control (this is sarcasm cause I got new polish and the colours aren't exactly the most inspired haha) but I think it's very solid. I always like looking at nail polish no matter what kind, and when I don't have time.

Maize is definitely a layering polish, I used 4-5 coats for this swatch. It built decently and it wasn't thick at the end but you know yellow polishes generally tend to be more sheer. This is why I got bubbles though cause I wanted to the build it fast, the formula was good, it went on easily and there wasn't any streakiness or anything.

Yellow Nails: Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream

Hello guys, it's good to see you on this swatch day. It's always a good day when it's a Barry M. This was my first EVER Barry M, so it was almost received 4 years ago :O So yeah disclaimer this polish is good but my bottle is very gloopy. But you can understand why right?

Lemon Ice Cream is a nice paler yellow. But from the bottle you'd expect it to be paler but it comes out brighter on the nail. It's a nice yellow, the colour is nice even if you're not the biggest yellow fan like me.

If you don't know by thoughts on Barry M... You must be new :P No obviously I adore Barry M, it's by far my favourite nail polish brand and I can't wait to get my hands on some Autumn Gellies ^_^ The Ice Cream polishes came out quite a while ago, but there were a bunch of them and they're all pastel and I'm pretty sure I am them all.

Now the coats were more thick and gloopy than most peoples' bottles but even before that the formula is generally very thick and maybe some people would really dislike that. I personally don't mind it but it;s not the easiest formula. I used 3 coats and it was still a little bit streaky but I didn't think it needed another coat. You know yellow formulas, they're never the best.

Yellow Nails: Topshop - Naked

Hello! I have a yellow polish to show and it's becoming one of my most used yellow polishes. You'll find out why as you read this post ;)
As I'm writing this I'm yet to go back to school, which is one of the single grimmest things that could happen :P As I'm entering 6th form it seems like everyone is really excited. Except me (and my bezzie), I don't get it, I love doing nothing!! Well it's inevitable and by the time you read this the 1st day will have happened; with the trying to find a good seat for the rest of the year(!) and finding out your classes and teachers. You know the drill. Seriously the summer is never long enough ahahahahahahahahaha (that was a long laugh).

Naked is a mustard yellow creme, simple as that. Mustard yellow isn't really a colour I'm fond of but weirdly I kind of like the colour of this. But not that much. Also I'm not sure if it suits me.

I recently mentioned how great Topshop polish is but if you missed that it's very good. I recommend you go to your local Topshop and take a look at the polish. There's a bunch of colours (some very unique, specially the glitter polishes) and it's very likely that the formula will be awesome. The names are generally pretty good. But Naked... Well that's debatable.

Ok THE FORMULA IS SO GREAT!! Come on how many 4 coat yellow polishes are there?? I have them and I just want a fuss free yellow and we have it right here. If you did 1 thick coat you could totally get away with it!! I used 2 thin coats but look at how opaque it is!! And how smooth and shiny it is!! It did apply like a dream, the formula is the perfect medium between thick and runny and so it's perfect to apply.

Yellow Nails: w7 - Sheer Lemon

Hey there guys, unusual thing happening over here, yellow nail polish! Ok it's not that crazy but ya'know yellow polish needs to happen sometimes, and this one was given to me by my bezzie!! And guuuiiiisssseeee the worst 2 weeks of my exams are over!!! WOOHOO!! I be so pumped that I sat and did nothing!! WHAT??! I haven't just sat and chilled without guilt for a while (I add without guilt cause I have sat and done nothing cause procrastination :P). Man it's great when things are this way, only 2 more weeks to go and it's the more manageable exams, the last 2 weeks have been hard man. Cause I'm cool I've also decided to celebrate by reading, not only my some of my favourite books (the Unwind series, man I NEED the 3rd book!!) but also some plays be J.B. Priestley cause I'm really cool :)

Sheer Lemon is a light yellow polish, there's really not much else to say. I'm actually struggling, well I do quite like this polish, a good yellow.

w7 is a great brand and I feel is underrated, the polish is mad cheap and mad good quality. Oo also the colours and finishes are mad (in a good way), if you have easy access to their polishes, go grab like!

Even though I think w7 is brilliant, this is not the best polish to represent them formula wise. It was um 4 coats, thin coats but still 4. Also you can see bubbles, but I've seen worst bubbles before. Otherwise the formula was smooth and manageable, but not the best.

Red + Yellow Circle Flowers + Teal Sparkly Base

Hi there guys. I think the title sums up this design pretty well. I saw this design on a purse in TK Maxx. I should've taken a picture but I didn't want to look like a weirdo, it was a really nice purse. Reminds me that I really want to go to TK Maxx. And just shopping in general. Yeah. I just want to say that this manicure looked WAY better in real life, and it looked mad elegant from a distance, I loved having this on.

Does what it says on the tin. Red and yellow flowers on a teal base. Doesn't look teal in pictures, my camera doesn't like teal. Putting it out there the combination of Barry M Guava and OPI Get Your Number is mad gorgeous. Really. I mean it. Get Your Number made the polish more blue but still it was teal, camera was disagreeing though. But those flowers were simple and fun, looked better in real life, but red and yellow is a nice combo.

As usual I had a white base, then I painted the colours on with the brushes and some toothpicks. The pale yellow took a couple of coats and quite clearly I'm addicted to black outlines.

Gimme Glitter: Barry M Confetti - Sour Apple

Hello there fine folks!! This is the sad day that school starts :( But also the brilliant day where I got a new indie polish!!!! :D Expect to see that soon, it's all mad exciting. Anyway I got this polish as a gift from a dear friend (the same friend who gave me the indie polish today :)), I love all the Barry M's, obviously not all the Barry M's are perfect (but the vast majority of them are) and the "Confetti Effects" could have been the ones to tear me. Bar glitter is a controversial thing but I am not a hater like most people seem to be.

Sour Apple is full of matte blue and yellow bar glitter, dupe to Nails Inc Brighton (well at least I think so), I honestly don't think bar glitter is all that bad, I think it's ok. What I really like is the colour combination, it's like bar glitter Floam!! I know I will never possess Floam (neither am I very bothered by that at all) but having the bar glitter version is pretty nice. Seriously once people start making matte neon bar glitter polishes I will be so done (though once people start making matte neon anything polishes I will be so done).

The Confetti effects came out last year with 5 polishes, what I really liked is all the sweet based names, how cute right? Maybe I'd get another from this collection, wouldn't make it a priority but I rather like this one.

Each coat was packed with glitter, I used 3 coats cause as usual I wanted the glitter packed look, not difficult to apply, everything spread fine so in general application was good. I put this over various green polishes, weirdly the glitter made them all look more similar. This glitter isn't necessarily rough but it's not completely smooth without topcoat. Ok removal isn't a breeze, but once you've "broken through" the mound of bar glitter it's actually not too hard to remove, better than a lot of other glitter polishes.

Yellow Nails: Ciate - Loop The Loop

Hello there lovely one, hope you are well. This is my first ever yellow nails post, I guess yellow just isn't my colour (also it really doesn't suit me). This was a gift from my bezzie (very many thanks to her) with some caviar beads and who knows when those will see the light of day. I know I said I'd be posting less due to exams but I'm actually posting a decent amount, I guess I've got a little bit of myself together (let's not mention the state of revision).

Loop The Loop is just a very nice pale (but not too pale) yellow. I wasn't sure if I'd be a fan (didn't look all that special in the bottle) but surprisingly I am!! It's a very pretty shade I found myself looking and thinking it was lovely which is pretty rare for me and yellows. It's somewhat clean if you get me.
It might become my go-to yellow (which isn't all that prestigious to be honest), as my Barry M (Lemon Ice Cream) is gloopy as anything, w7 (Sheer Lemon) is too pale and requires too many coats and the Rimmel (Sunshine) stains. Also helpful that this Ciate is very aesthetically pleasing.
And just saying that I'm very pleased with my swatch, it looks legit.

I'm not sure how I feel about the brand Ciate, I will very graciously accept the gift and free gifts from magazines but I'm not sure if I'd ever buy any with my own money. None of them really get my attention as personally I don't think they're particularly magical. Also I don't like them taking others ideas then putting an extortionate price on it. But I really like this polish and Ciate's "ethics" don't really bother me all that much.

The formula wasn't perfect (which was a reason I thought it wasn't going to be all that great), the coats are a combination of quite opaque and streaky. Some patches covered and others just not. 3 coats was definitely required, but I don't think anymore would be needed. I used 2 thick coats and 1 thin. The brush of the polish was a bit messed up for me (one of the bristles was sticking out) but it didn't affect anything.
I was totally cynical when applying but honestly for a yellow it's pretty good and I'm just glad it's not gloop city for once and actually applied smoothly.

Pink + Yellow Leopard Print

Hello there wonderful people!!! Hope y'all are enjoying this fine Sunday evening. The weather was absolutely gorgeous today, sometimes good weather can put you in a good mood. English homework on the other hand, can really put you in a bad mood. I got another impossible English homework that I struggled with for 2 hours. Fun -_- And yes you read that title right, more leopard print. I have technically broken my leopard print limit, but since my last one was a fail I've permitted myself another one, which I like (cause I love leopard print so anything leopard print I will at least like).

Good weather = Good lighting, it's all good :P This was meant to be a completely different design but I was sitting for while not painting and I realised it was because I didn't want to do that aforementioned design. So whether that design ever appears on my blog is a mystery but for now we have leopard print. Which is a wonderful pattern, I added little lines this time. I don't tend to do that but I thought I'd give it a try. I don't think it enhances (you see these fancy words, that's due to my english homework) the design but it's nice that it's there.

I used to not like accent nails, you'd never think it from looking at my blog (I have an accent nail pretty much every post). When I first saw it I think I thought it was stupid... For a about 2 seconds clearly, as now it's all I do and I think they look good (which is why I paint them all the time, duh :P).

Combo: Mustard Fire Sprinkles (+ Guest nails)

Kind of a crazy name ;P Basically a combination of a mustard yellow and some flakies. Also the guest nails, my sister's!!! The shape of my sister's nails are SO NICE. When I was younger I used to be jealous of her nails cause they were so long (I used to bite :/) and perfectly shaped.

The manicure was a couple of days old. Also awkward hand positions because my sister didn't know what to do and I didn't guide her very well :/ Oh well. But look how perfect the shape of her nails are :D So easy to paint. I was actually meant to do a post on another combination I did on her. But the thing with my sister, the moment I finish painting her nails. She gets them chipped -_- And she got some serious chips on both of her hands. It was beyond repair. Of course the exact same thing happened this time. She just doesn't care. But I managed to fix the damage and reminded her to be careful (she wasn't). But seriously some of those chips was ridiculous.

It's Topshop - Naked and China Glaze - Luxe and Lush. Her favourite colour is yellow and she agreed to a mustard yellow. Then I told her I had to add Luxe and Lush. Which I didn't really give her an option on. Luxe and Lush looks kind of blue-toned in these pictures but it's more orange close up. Therefore being the "fire". 2 coats of Naked and 2 coats of Luxe and Lush. I think Luxe and Lush is the kind of glitter that would look good over everything. So I had to put it over something else.

This is Luxe and Lush layered over The Face Shop - BL601 and Models Own - Indian Ocean. It still looks pretty :D. The first time I used Luxe and Lush it must not have been "mixed in" well enough, cause 2 coats was more than enough.
