Gold Nails: w7 - Golden Sands

Hey there guys!! Yep it's um been a while, I'll probably explain why in later posts (might uh take a while for them to go up) but you know blogging takes the backseat. Happy St. Patrick's Day!! It's a legitimate thing here, people wearing green and stuff. I kind of forgot, but I hope you're appropriately celebrating. I'm celebrating by not being productive lol, oh wait that's everyday :P I think the gold nails are just about appropriate cause pots of gold and stuff (not like I have this on right now, but I do have green nails, the backlog is so real right now).

Golden Sands is a shimmery gold creme, it's a more dull gold, like more grey-toned as opposed to yellow. Like it leaves faint brushstrokes but they're not prominent at all. I do like this gold it's a funky one.

I'm not sure how great gold goes on me but I liked wearing this. Once again w7 is a great brand at such a good price and should be snapped up with spotted in TK Maxx.

The formula is really good, I used 2-3 coats for this swatch and it covered really well. Applied really easily too, maybe on the thick side but nothing you can't easily ignore.

Brown Nails: w7 - Brownie

Hey guys, it's another swatch day. Even closer I say. Brown has never really been my colour but to be honest I quite like this one. Especially the name, it's my nickname for my best friend who gave me this polish 4 years ago. I feel very sophisticated with this colour. Also it's March, I don't know how we got here, March is mad and I'm pretending that everything is ok... :P

Brownie is a dark brown polish with brown shimmer and it's quite red-toned. It's a great dark brown and while brown isn't my colour I've used this polish a ton for nail art cause it's just a great colour to have.

I always say how good w7 is as a brand but then I don't buy it very much cause I suppose it's not in Boots lol, I buy everything in Boots or Superdrug. I think you can get them in TK Maxx but the colours never really catch my eye I suppose. You can get them online and I feel like the brand in under-swatched cause I never know when the cool w7 polishes are out (like Lava Flow and Mosaic).

This was opaque in 1 coat and I used 2 cause that's what I do. So opaque and so easy to apply, like everything you could want in a formula.

Silver Nails: w7 - Silver Mirror

Hey there guys, I did this is my first edition of Silver Nails!! I've never owned a silver polish before. I guess it's not really my colour and it's not really a colour people give cause ya'know it's all about the brights. This isn't even my polish, I stole it from my sister hahahahahahahaha. Don't worry she doesn't mind. Is silver an unloved colour? You decide.

Silver Mirror is as you can guess a silver polish, I reckon it's more a foil than a chrome or anything like that. Not that I know much about foils or chromes or anything. But yeah I like it, it's cool, and it's kind of reflective.

Silver Mirror is a great name, this polish doesn't reflect images (ok I know it's not gonna be a real mirror polish). w7 has always created solid polishes and this is no exception, I've shown a lot of w7 polishes on this here blog and I really don't think I've come across a terrible one in any way. You want a solid silver polish, Silver Mirror is a good place to start.

The formula of foils tend to be very good and yes Silver Mirror does follow that pattern.I used 2 coats and the opacity was there and the formula was easy to work with. A downfall though, is that the tipwear for this is real. This polish wears away so easily, of course some topcoat would fix this but sometimes a girl doesn't always wear topcoat and she doesn't like to see the tips of her nails, hypothetically.

Yellow Nails: w7 - Sheer Lemon

Hey there guys, unusual thing happening over here, yellow nail polish! Ok it's not that crazy but ya'know yellow polish needs to happen sometimes, and this one was given to me by my bezzie!! And guuuiiiisssseeee the worst 2 weeks of my exams are over!!! WOOHOO!! I be so pumped that I sat and did nothing!! WHAT??! I haven't just sat and chilled without guilt for a while (I add without guilt cause I have sat and done nothing cause procrastination :P). Man it's great when things are this way, only 2 more weeks to go and it's the more manageable exams, the last 2 weeks have been hard man. Cause I'm cool I've also decided to celebrate by reading, not only my some of my favourite books (the Unwind series, man I NEED the 3rd book!!) but also some plays be J.B. Priestley cause I'm really cool :)

Sheer Lemon is a light yellow polish, there's really not much else to say. I'm actually struggling, well I do quite like this polish, a good yellow.

w7 is a great brand and I feel is underrated, the polish is mad cheap and mad good quality. Oo also the colours and finishes are mad (in a good way), if you have easy access to their polishes, go grab like!

Even though I think w7 is brilliant, this is not the best polish to represent them formula wise. It was um 4 coats, thin coats but still 4. Also you can see bubbles, but I've seen worst bubbles before. Otherwise the formula was smooth and manageable, but not the best.

Peach Nails: w7 - Sheer Peach

Hello there, another peach polish that coming quite soon after the last one. I really love peach polish, that's not highlighted enough here. But I very very very specific about shades when it comes to peach, like I LOVE shades like Chanel June (but I am NEVER getting Chanel June, I'm still looking for a dupe) but peach polishes that lean more towards skin tones I do not like, that being said I do like Sheer Peach even though it's a more skin tone peach, I think it's right in the middle so it's acceptable for me.

Sheer Peach is a skin tone peach polish that's sheer in colour not formula. I think sheer is the incorrect word for it. There's hints of the polish leaning orange, it's hard to pinpoint the exact shade, but it's a pretty shade that I don't use enough.

This is another polish from my best friend, given for me birthday like 3 years ago oh my goodness, and it's still here with me. I've already mentioned that I think w7 is a great brand and I shall be hunting for more in pound shops :)

This polish is not sheer as suggested by it's name, the formula was very flowy and went on well, 2 coats did the trick and the formula really was very good, not complaints from me at all.

Peach Nails: w7 - Linen

Hiya you! I do have some neutral polishes I like and this is one of them. Given to me by my best friend before I started this blog. It's been useful for various bits of nail art. It's nice by itself though I would never wear it that way.

Linen is a very light peach creme, I personally don't think it's similar to actual linen but you know that's not very important. It's a nice clean neutral, if you get me, everyone nail polish fanatic should have one.

Once again I'd like to apologise for my cuticles :/

w7 does very legit polish, I've already done many polishes of their polishes, and they are high quality and good and cheap.

I used 2 coats and perhaps I could've used another 1 but overall it covers and the formula was very good. It was opaque and not gloopy.

Gimme Glitter: w7 - Salt n Pepper

Hello there fine folks!! This is the final Poundworld polish I got, and I do like to save the best to last. I love this one, but this whole time I keep thinking it's "Cookies n Cream", totally acceptable right? Salt n Pepper should be a small black and white glitter topper but whatevs I roll with the punches. And finally I tell this "story" I've been keeping to myself, if anything is taken away from the "story", it should be that I saved cash, cause I did.

Salt n Pepper is a white base with tons of small black glitter. I've said this before many times but I LOVE polishes like this!! I could do with every variation of glitter and base with this polish, yes all of them. All of the polishes like this!! I don't know this polish is just so cute, the combination is just perfect, you can't go wrong with black and white.

Ok so we were before Christmas shopping (yeah I got these a while ago and I'm only posting it now, lol at my lateness) and we hopped on over to Poundworld cause my friend wanted to go. I wasn't very keen cause I always had high expectations for the Pound shops and I never got anything good.
But I saw a bargain bin kind of thing (it was more a bargain tub), stuffed to the brim with random makeup and nail polish. And this was a small tub, you really only had access to the stuff at the top of the tub cause it's not a well-designed tub. But I saw this polish, and I manoeuvred my hand around the tub (taking some stuff out) and grabbed this.
But then I saw Mosaic and Lava Flow and then I got my friends and forced them to hold the contents of the tub (it wasn't a small tub), and I literally took everything out and got them to hold it (I was holding stuff too) or put them in random shelves until I got the polishes.
We did put everything back into the tub, and I expected to pay £3 for the polishes, a brilliant deal in itself but because I got them from the bargain tub I got them all for half price, so £1.50. I was well pleased. What a gal does for cheap (and good) polish.
w7 is a really good and cheap brand in general, but 15ml of good polish, can't argue with that. Oh man I am so dramatic, but it was fun.

The base is really opaque, 2 coats is definitely all that's required. I did 3 for the odd not as covered part, but on the whole it wasn't needed. Each coat was packed with glitter and it went on great, all of these polishes are just wonderful.

Gimme Glitter: w7 - Mosaic

Hi there guys!! Oh goodness I feel so behind on the blog, school has been throwing out the tests and the assessments and I've been so busy that painting is just not happening a lot. I don't think it'll be getting better anytime soon, so expect less posts from me and more "I've been so busy", cause I have and will be.
Today I have the 2nd polish I got from Poundworld with the "story", it's not very exciting at all I should stop hyping it. But the final polish in the trio is my favourite so at least there'll be a pretty polish there.

Mosaic is a medium blue base with small gold and dark blue/purple glitter. I'm pretty sure this is a dupe to Nails Inc Topping Lane, I wouldn't get this polish at the Nails Inc price cause I was never in love with that one. But if I can get the w7 much cheaper version I'm there. And this is lovely, I love blue polish so this was always going to appeal to me. Basically I love polishes like this, with all the packed glitter, Nails Inc - Sweets Way was in my favourites after all.

I do want all the polishes like this, so I'll be searching. I know Hard Candy have some like this but too bad I can't get my hands on Hard Candy. The Nails Inc is too expensive unless I LOVE it. It'd be real nice if w7 could release a ton more like this. I really like w7, good colours, good formulas, good price.

I thought the formula of Mosaic was great, I used 3 thin coats. But 2 will probably do, especially if they're thick coats. Each coat was glitter packed. This made the finish a lil' rough but nothing that topcoat can't smooth out.

Gimme Glitter: w7 - Lava Flow

Hi there guys!! I hope you're having a nice January, it's full steam ahead for me. School tends to do that. Anyway polish is much less grim, I'm still waiting to tell the "story" of these, I will once I swatch the final one. There are 3 w7 polished I hauled by the way, I got them in a pretty spectacular way. Key word: pretty (it wasn't that spectacular).

Lava flow is your white base with small red and black glitter. It's mad cool isn't it? I love how dramatic the red glitter is, I need more red glitter in my life. And obviously black glitter is awesome. There's so much glitter it's fab, I love polishes like this.

I guess I have another mini story about this/these polishes. I had these on the wishlist, but thought I was never actually going to get them cause I didn't know any shops that actually sold these so I gave up. But then I find them, it was pretty great, but I'll tell that another time.

The formula of this was really great, each coat was PACKED with glitter so this was 2 coats. And v opaque, the Nails Inc one (Sweets Way), I did 3 coats and there was still some VNL but this 2 coats and not a nail line in sight. I think the base of this one is much more opaque and yet doesn't hide the glitter, a very important balance that w7 has got right.

Red Nails: Nails Inc - Tate + w7 - Burnt Amber

Hey there guys!! I'm hoping you're all well and not dwelling like a bottom dweller(?). Ok I don't know what I'm saying anymore. Today was a bit crazy but I made it through didn't I. Plain red nails are a rare thing for me (I need nail art and red is rather fancy for me), but I performed in my devised play today (it was fine :)) and I wanted my nails to match my character (a scientist).

The play was set in England in around the 70's, I looked up the nail trends for then and it said "bare nails" (which I was like "Lol no"), "deep brick red, browns and burgundies".
I had Nails Inc - Tate (a deep red) sitting there so it seemed like a good idea. It's a one coater, but I did 2. It dried and I hated it, it's not the polish, it's me. It's not my colour, it looked way too brown (it is brick red). What can I say I love brights.
So with my logic I thought some kind of glitter would make it better, but I don't own a red glitter (:O), shimmer had to do. One coat of w7 - Burnt Amber stepped in... And I still hated it but it was slightly better. Burnt Amber is an opaque polish, but it was an afterthought.

The pictures you see here are in natural light which I think the colour is lovely and sophisticated, but when I was painting the lighting I was in made it look brown (and horrible). I don't enjoy brown. But let's enjoy the nice colour in the pictures and don't see this one in a yellow tinged lighting setup. I really should've stuck to my go-to red, OPI Dutch Tulips (what a babe of a polish).
