Who's that Pokémon? Mareep!

Hey there guys, I have another "edition" of this Pokémon nail art thing. I love this series it's like my favourite, Pokémon is so great. This was my Chinese New Year manicure!! I told you this was going to be late. Cause you know Year of the Sheep/Ram. I had a party with my friends and family and it was so fun, Mario Kart was great. There were so many of us that we had to team and my friend and I actually did pretty damn well #kartmasters.

Mareep is so cute and my versions don't do it justice whatsoever, the proportions are totally off but I didn't let it ruin the manicure for me. Blue sheep are cute and then I used Nails Inc Regents Park for the accents cause I haven't used that polish in ages and I love how edgy it is. Though I don't think it was the best choice for the accent but oh well.
Mareep is a 2nd generation Pokémon and Ampharos got a mega evolution in Pokémon X and Y which is cool, man I want that game so bad.

I purposefully chose opaque polishes so I wouldn't have to do a base even if it meant the colours being slightly off. Except the yellow I had to do a white base for that. I started with the wool with toothpicks and the brush then did the blue face and legs with the same kind of technique. I went back with toothpicks and did all the other little details, this is where things went wrong. The face was hard to get right but I think I could settle with what I did.

Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips
Glitter: Nails Inc - Regents Park (Nails Inc have got all fancy now and I liked their old bottles)
Blue: Barry M - Malibu
Cream: Nails Inc - Sao Paulo Streets
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Barry M - Matt White
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Pink: Orly - Basket Case
Brown: w7 - Brownie

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Pink Nails: Body Collection - Orange Pink (no name)

Hello there guys, good to see you. I'm making my way through swatching all of my polishes and that means swatching the random brands but this polish is actually really really so it's good to try to new things!! Just generally, in life.

Orange Pink (I name these myself, really good name I know but they could've tried a bit harder ;)) is an unusual shade it's like a dark peachy pink with a strong orange tone and an almost purple shimmer. It's nice, it's a cool colour. I really have nothing else like it so I appreciate its presence in my collection.

I got this last last Christmas from a friend and I always like a bit of polish :P Body Collection is a random brand but I don't judge. Because it's random they're the kind of polishes with a weird smell but I just hold my breath.

The formula was very watery but very manageable, the colour built really well, I think I used 3 coats. The thing with the watery formula is that it dried slower and I totally smudged but it was ok cause I was painting over it.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Distressed art deco arch nails

Hello there!! Man I cannot believe it's April, life has been going so fast this year!! I know that's every year but I feel it's especially speedy this year. Life moving faster ya'know. More nail art today and I really like this design, mega cool, geometric designs are some of my favourites.

Also this was so unbelievably easy to do and I love the way it looks. I love the colour scheme too, I thought it was very art deco, obviously a much less complex art deco but I don't think that detracts. Distressed nails are also super cool. I like the silver outline too, got to stray away from black you know. I think black would've been too intense, also my pen is acting up :P Oh yeah I was totally inspired by Mr. Candiipants!!

So I got the brushes of the polish, wiped most of the polish off and randomly swiped, I tried to make the distribution of colours as even as possible. Then once it was all dry I got my silver on a toothpick and drew the "egg arches", haha some got totally wonky but I thought it added to the design. No need to be perfect :)

Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips
Orange: Rimmel - It's a Scorcher!
Yellow: American Apparel - Neon Yellow (love this in the design cause it blends great)
Gold: w7 - Golden Sands
Dusty green: Illamasqua - Melange
Dark green: Barry M - Kiwi
Silver: w7 - Silver Mirror
Flakies: Essie - Shine of the Times

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you have a fab day!! :)

Red Nails: OPI - Dutch Tulips

Hey there guys!! So close to finishing my swatching (ok I say this and I totally bought more polishes adding to my swatch list so I'll probably never be fully swatched lol) and this is a nice red to show. I don't know why this took me so long to swatch. This was actually my 2nd ever OPI that I got in Paris, how snazzy right?

Dutch Tulips is a blue-toned darkish red creme. I really like this shade of red, ok I think there's definitely a limit of red polishes a gal needs (it's different with like blue and pink) but I think there are differences in shades and this one is really nice. The blue tone is lovely. So sophisticated.

I'm sure this was in some old OPI collection, I like the name, it's simple and sweet. As punny as OPI names can be sometimes they're a bit wordy. Did you hear about that speak in colour thing? I think it's relatively cool.
Oo one thing though I think OPI can chill with all the red cremes, like bring out some other colours I think 1 OPI red per person is more than enough rather than 20 in one collection.

You know what OPI formula is like, ok my bottle is old and running out but the formula is still great. Ok right now it's a bit on the thick side but guys this was 1 coat right here!! You can forgive that for 1 coat, so opaque and fine to apply. It's good stuff.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a nice day!! :)

Drawn orange blossoms + coral gradient nails

Hey there guys, happy April Fool's Day!! Yep it's been another while, my exams are serious this time and I'm not prepared and I'm worried. Constantly there's always a million things to do, like I have to learn how to drive well and have various music exams amidst my serious exams but just going to try my best cause really what else can I do? Yeah even on my holidays I don't have time for this, but I'm spending a little bit of time to get some blog stuff sorted, I like that there's some kind of structure here unlike everything else haha.
So I have some floral nail art (ages ago, the backlog is so massive that I don't know how I'm gonna tackle it) and I really like it and I'm showing it cause I can?

I love a good floral print, I tried to make the flowers more "artsy" and had all kinds of orange blending and fading and stuff. I did the outline in brown cause I'm so wild but I really like it. I think I could've chosen a better background colour but I love a bit of glitter.

For the "gradient" I really just dabbed and used the brushes of the polishes cause it was going to be covered and laziness. I painted the basic shape of the flowers and then added the other orange polishes from lightest to darkest. I was very loose and free with the outline and dotted the centres. I was considering not doing the outline but I really like it here so I'm glad I did it.

Base: Body Collection - Orange Pink (no name)
Coral: Spa Ritual - Wilderness
Glitter: Barry M - Starlet
Peach: w7 - Linen
Brown: w7 - Brownie
Orange (lightest to darkest): Chilli Pepper - Orange (no name), Models Own - Beach Party and Essie - Fear Or Desire

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)
