Gimme Glitter: Barry M - Ruby

Hello there guys!! Little Gimme Glitter post today, I love these. Glitter is da best. I got this polish last summer and here is the Gimme Glitter post for that. I guess I never got round to swatching it by itself. Until now!!

I don't know why I decided to swatch it over orange (for pink glitter, I like putting it over purple), but I like it, it has a Halloween vibe and it's pretty fun. Ruby consists of pink hex glitter, small black hex glitter and small black micro bar glitter. Yeah that's not a bad description. I really like this glitter, it can potentially be very edgy and you know I love a bit of edginess.

I remember when this lil' collection of glitter came out. Crazily enough I think this is the only one I got from that collection. Oh, tell a lie I have Amethyst as well, but I didn't buy that one and there were 6 in that collection. If that isn't self-control I don't know what is :P

Ruby is very glitter packed, there's a bit of moving around required to get a good spread of glitter, but there was definitely a lot of glitter there. I used 2 coats for what I felt was enough glitter, and that's a lot of glitter. I put this over Bourjois Tangerine Fatal (which I totally have been neglecting).

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!! :)

Combo: Ice Queen and Punk Princess

Hi there!!! My freedom was taken away, as school began again. Sad times for all the people going to school, including me. We all know school is not a bundle of fun times. I have a combo post today and I haven't done one of these in ages, I think I've been doing so many Gimme Glitters that combos have kind of been neglected. I was meant to do some nail art on top but I loved the glitter combos that I went without. Also I know the title is really lame but I love it, I feel really clever that I connected queen and princess together even though that's not very clever :/ Fun fact: I have exactly 15 Gimme Glitter and Combo posts each (super interesting I know).

My favourite things about this manicure are the sheer white hexes over the dark blue and the black glitter over the pink. These are the "ice queen" and "punk princess" elements.

The pink is Color Club - Wing Fling an extremely pretty glass flecked pink (2 coats) and the blue is Kiko - 266 (2 coats), I borrowed this from a friend as my go to dark blue (Barry M - Indigo) has been low for a while. I own Kiko - 265 which I thought was a cool coincidence and my friend did not haha, I get excited over little things.

On the blue nails I used 2 coats of OPI - Last Friday Night, which I just love the aqua micro-shimmer within that pops over dark blue. And 1 coat of OPI - Pirouette My Whistle, and I'm in love with those sheer white hexes which I always have to mention cause they're gorgeous.
On the pink nails I used Barry M - Ruby, I actually like how the pink glitter blends in with the base cause it looks like just black glitter on the nails. I want to use Ruby over a lighter pink cause I know it'll look awesome cause Ruby is an awesome polish. I used 2 coats and then some cause I wanted a lot of glitter, I think I went a bit overboard (it happens a lot) cause the pink base isn't coming through that well but I still like it. The formula is also awesome, it spreads on so easily and there's no migrating to the tips issues. Ruby is pretty different to OPI - Minnie Style but I much prefer it, better formula and looks better, the black glitter is super edgy haha.

Thanks for reading, I hope you liked the look and have a great day!! :)

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard?

Hey there you lovely people!! Um, sorry about the title, I couldn't figure out what else to call the post. I do not even know what that song is called or who sings it. Now thinking about it, I don't even know the rest of the sentence :/ Oh well! Um...my milkshake brings all the nail people to the yard? :/ If you couldn't tell from the (awkward) title I have some milkshake nails, I wanted food/drink (standard) and my friend and I went to a milkshake shop and I decided to paint some.

I had to use the polish I recently got, you have to use new polish (or maybe not, I guess that's how untrieds happen...)! And they were incorporated in. Awk the milkshake is pretty cute :3 I really have nothing else to say, cuteness is my favourite thing ever so I like this. Oh I prefer the purple milkshake :P

Purple: Illamasqua - Jo'Mina
Ok I am loving Jo'Mina this is the purple I have been waiting for. 2 easy coats used here.
Black and Pink Glitter: Barry M - Ruby
Ruby is also awesome, it was one of those glitter that gives loads but when you try to get a little bit off, everything comes off. I went for the glitter packed look (obviously) but I used 2 coats cause I used the less abundant method. It was a tash thick but nothing too bad.
Coral Pink: Barry M - Superdrug Summer Limited Edition 2013 A (I think I might abbreviate this from now on)
OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS I LOVE THIS POLISH!! I did not expect to like it this much but once I got it on I was in awe. It's just such a great colour, I cannot wait to get it on again. It's a jelly, so I used 4 coats to get it to the desired opacity (still with visible nail line though). I might put it over white, the polish also has neon qualities to it. I LOVE IT! ^_^
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White
Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips
Neon Glitter: Lush Lacquer - Clowning Around
I had to use Clowning Around for sprinkles. Had. To.
The pink cheeks are different for both milkshakes, Orly - Basket Case for the purple one and Per Una - Fuchsia (no name) for the pink one.

I love me some edible nail art (NOT ACTUALLY EDIBLE DON'T EAT YOUR NAILS). If you're on your summer holidays (like me :D) I hope your enjoying it and if not I hope you're having fun anyway. Thank you very much for reading!! :)
