Who's that Pokémon? Marill!

Hey there guys. Man it's been a while since I've written; I've been scheduling due to the masses of homework I receive on a weekly basis. But hey, I have slightly less this week so I get to talk to you!!! Honestly it's been a while since I did this design, but I still remember how much I loved it so let's get started!! :D <-- I'm not even that happy

I'm really thinking of making this Pokémon thing a series cause I seriously ADORE Pokémon nail art. I painted Marill a cute lil' water type. Once again I don't know if Marill is actually good in play or not (I suspect or not), but my favourite Pokémon are the cute ones. I wanted Marill to stand out so I did a nice gradient background, which I liked but it was nothing special. How glitter can magic all things!! After the glitter I felt like I was looking at a magnificent night sky with flower petals falling down. I get very emotive about this kind of stuff ;)

I really do intend of actually getting into Pokémon one of these days. I've rediscovered my cards properly and I want to battle!! From watching gameplay I'm getting more and more interested in it. Also the video-game looks so good and OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire are coming out kind of near my birthday, so maybe now's the time (if school would let me)!! But more Pokémon nail art is a definite.
So for this design I used a sponge to do the gradient (it wasn't the best gradient) and the brush of the polish and toothpicks for everything (this is something I would do). I was going to get Marill to do a different pose but I painted the blob too small so things had to change. But in the end it didn't matter cause I still think Marill looks cute :3

Gimme Glitter: Revlon - Celestial

Hey there people!! I have this really cute glitter polish today, I was very fortunate to be able to go to Japan this year, and it was lovely where we were at. And yeah I got this polish from there. They're Revlon bottles are smaller than the usual 14.8ml (approx.), and they're really cute!! I'm guessing they're 8ml, but compared to the regular bottles they're adorable. I'm all about this polish because of one thing, moon glitter.

I don't know what it is about moon glitter, but it's fabulous!!
Celestial is a glitter topper with holographic moon, star and diamond glitter (how exciting!) with lots of small iridescent glitter. It very much gives the night sky effect; also we've already talked about how much I love holographic glitter so we don't need to do that again. However while I like this polish I'm not enamoured, I have a feeling it's also about the combo I did. I think I could've paired the glitter with a better blue.

Hello holographicness
I was looking for this when it first came out with Heart Of Gold, or whatever it's called. It was the one that had the heart glitter. It was the moons that called me, of course every Revlon stand I looked at never had it so as usual I convinced myself I didn't need it and moons can be found everywhere (not true). But hello Celestial in random Japanese store!! I don't forget about moons. Though I really like the star glitter in this polish too.

The iridescent glitter was very plentiful but the big glitter was different story. The fishing was real, without it I got about 2 pieces of big glitter on each nail. Also the big glitter is spiky, even with topcoat it stuck out and you guys know that spiky glitter is spiky. It can potentially hurt a person. So beware haha.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!!! :)

31DC2013: Day 27 - Inspired by artwork

Hi guys, I'm still battling through the challenge and I'm nearly there. So close!! Today's nail art is inspired by Coplu, specifically this painting. I really liked the heart balloons and the night sky so that it was. I have to say I don't know much about the artist but I'm looking forward to finding out more in the future!!

Clearly I didn't follow the colour scheme exactly (from the picture I was using I couldn't see the orange and I'm like aw man eyesight failure). But otherwise I really like it, those balloons are cool. I should find some in real life. Of course I love that holographic glitter and that cool conductor just casually conducting those balloons ;) I gave him a bit of depth and I really like that too. But this is once of those occasions that I think the design looks better in real life.

Blue base: Kiko - 265, w7 - Polar Bare, Nails Inc - Abbey Road and OPI - Get Your Number
Ok the base was a complicated process, I definitely wanted a dark blue but my Barry M one is extremely gloopy so I went for the Kiko polish. Which I forgot how dark it was (it's almost black) so I added a coat of Polar Bare thinking it would lighten it but it didn't really. Just made it frosty and more grey :/ I tried to do a glitter gradient with Abbey Road but in general it didn't look right. So I just jammed the Get Your Number on and oh my goodness Get Your Number looks AMAZING over a darker base. That's the way to make this polish amazing, the holographic glitter just comes out and add the topcoat, you know what happens ;) The part with Abbey Road under is slightly lighter, but slighter is the way to describe that. But the base outcome was worth it, I keep staring at that holographic glitter!! I'm glad I've found ways to incorporate textures into my nail art!!
Peach: w7 - Linen, w7 - Sheer Peach and Paris Collection - Brown Beaute (for the depth, but it's totally not brown)
White (also as a base for the balloons): Lovely Me:Ex - White
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Brown: w7 - Brownie
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Red: Essie - E-Nuff Is E-Nuff
Green: OPI - Jade Is The New Black
Blue: Revlon - Dreamer
Pink: The Face Shop - PK105

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a really great day!! :D
