Purple Nails: Essie - Lilacism

Hello guys, I got this polish around when my blog started and I've finally got round to giving it a swatch post. I've used it loads but now we be focusing on it. It's a good polish and helped me on my way to loving purple.

Lilacism is your more blue-toned pale purple (ignore the slight pink tone in my pictures). Doesn't suit me but I've never cared about things like that. It's a nice one, my least favourite pale purple but that's only because my other pale purples are boss.

I got this when Essie first came out in Boots and I was so excited, like really excited. I went mental with my non judgemental friend whom I'm glad didn't judge cause haha I go crazy around nail polish. It came out with the Art of Spring collection in Spring 2010 with Tart Deco (excuse my swatch, it's not one of my best), one of my favourite polishes!!!

2 easy peasy coats, no issues whatsoever. There might be mild bubbles in my pictures but it's my fault. The coats could've been slightly too thick. I think Essie formula is generally brilliant. I love the Essie brushes, they fit my nails great. Essie is definitely one of my favourite nail polish brands (I like it better than OPI, and I love OPI :O).

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Gimme Glitter: Topshop - Razzmatazz

Oh hey there guys!!! The long week is over!! The not being able to paint my nails very often is bumming me out a bit. But I hope that my brain intake has increased (that does not make sense at all :/). Today I have some purple nails for show, including a nice purple creme and one of my favourite polishes. (edit: this post will now be a Gimme Glitter for fun)

I wasn't able to capture the true amazingness of the holographic glitter, but I have a good one in my other Razzmatazz post. It gives the "how is such beauty possible??" feeling. Like a holographic polish when you move your hand in the light, the glitter reflects different colours, reminiscent of a rainbow. And this is the very reason I LOVE HOLOGRAPHIC GLITTER.

I would've taken proper holographic goodness pictures in my artificial lighting but by the time I got round to it I had lots of pen marks on my nails from intense note writing (not really, apparently I write rather flamboyantly) which wouldn't come off, but you can still see some subtle rainbows.

Topshop - Razzmatazz is chocked full of holographic glitter (reasons why I love it), lots of small pieces and some big pieces all in a blue-y/lilac-y base. Looks awesome over purple and blue, and probably darker colours.

Essie - Lilacism is a pale purple, 2 easy coats (but I think I used 3 this time). There's not much else to say. Out of all of my pale purples it's my least favourite one (that doesn't mean I don't like it, I do! I do!). But for someone who doesn't suit pale purple, I have a lot of pale purples (3 by the way). Not sure how that happened. But my other pale purples suit me much better and are just prettier colours (I'm all about specific shades).

I was planning to do some nail art, but 1. I didn't have enough time. 2. I couldn't think of what to do, but mostly 3. I really enjoyed this by itself and I will always be in awe of the wondrous holographic glitter. It's the best, mucho love from me.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely weekend!!! :D

Combo: Sweet Freak

Hey there, how are you? :) I have a test tomorrow and I spent ages revising and I really hope it wasn't all in vain cause it kind of feels that way. I have a nice combination today, I just piled on the glitters and it worked (I love when that happens). I once again forgot that pale purple doesn't suit me (remembered after putting one coat on a nail) but glitter helps.

I used 2 coats of Essie - Lilacism, which is lovely but seriously doesn't suit me. In real life it's more purple, I feel like I've taken better pictures of it before. I am being swayed by purple polish, once I find my perfect one (I have a couple of ideas...) I know I'll be hooked. I went on to use 1 coat of Barry M - Silver Glitter and Revlon - Belle (which didn't really do anything but it was nice to use it). I liked it like that, but I wanted to add Models Own - Freak Out!. It has shards but they're not too bad here, I really like the mix of glitter, especially the dark blue hexagons. But I don't think I'll be buying more of these Mirrorball polishes simply because they stank (to be read in a sassy way) and the brush is unbelievably wonky. I used 2 coats with some dabbing. I also never really know when to use this glitter in nail art (I will find a way) but for now Freak Out! is more than enough for me (but I do like it!!!). Finally I added a matte topcoat cause I had to, cause I love matte nails.

So thank you for reading and have a lovely day!!! :)
