Distressed art deco arch nails

Hello there!! Man I cannot believe it's April, life has been going so fast this year!! I know that's every year but I feel it's especially speedy this year. Life moving faster ya'know. More nail art today and I really like this design, mega cool, geometric designs are some of my favourites.

Also this was so unbelievably easy to do and I love the way it looks. I love the colour scheme too, I thought it was very art deco, obviously a much less complex art deco but I don't think that detracts. Distressed nails are also super cool. I like the silver outline too, got to stray away from black you know. I think black would've been too intense, also my pen is acting up :P Oh yeah I was totally inspired by Mr. Candiipants!!

So I got the brushes of the polish, wiped most of the polish off and randomly swiped, I tried to make the distribution of colours as even as possible. Then once it was all dry I got my silver on a toothpick and drew the "egg arches", haha some got totally wonky but I thought it added to the design. No need to be perfect :)

Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips
Orange: Rimmel - It's a Scorcher!
Yellow: American Apparel - Neon Yellow (love this in the design cause it blends great)
Gold: w7 - Golden Sands
Dusty green: Illamasqua - Melange
Dark green: Barry M - Kiwi
Silver: w7 - Silver Mirror
Flakies: Essie - Shine of the Times

Thanks so much for reading and I hope you have a fab day!! :)

Eggs + Bacon Nail Art

Hello there my favourite folks, you get some nail art from me today. I had this on my to do list for so long and in general I should be doing more food nail art. After all it is my favourite. Regular food nail art should come back, it's the bayest. And this egg and bacon design is pretty funky, me gusta mucho. My spanish is bad, putting it out there. I try.

We got some eggs and we got some bacon. Eggs are some of my favourite food, I've loved them since I was young. And I think ma food here is pretty cute. Bacon is always great too, who doesn't like bacon (not counting vegetarians)? I didn't know what my base should be but the distressed background was nice. You know even know how the glitter tied the whole look together, it just tidied everything up. This is why I love glitter (well one reason). I just like how generally fun this look is.

After the fun little colourful distressed background I got my white pen and drew the outlines to the food. I filled the colours in with toothpicks and brushes and that. I dabbed the glitter on at the end, like I'm not kidding the glitter really made this design like you wouldn't even know. The matteness was also really good for this design.

Base: Ciate - Loop The Loop
Colourful distressed colours: Essie - Fear Or Desire, Chilli Pepper - Orange (no name), The Face Shop - PK105, Body Collection - Pink Orange (no name) and OPI - Charged Up Cherry
Glitter: OPI - Minnie Style
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White and Barry M - Matt White
Yellow: Rimmel - Sunshine
Peach: w7 - Sheer Peach
Dark Pink: Per Una - Fuchsia (no name)
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!! :)

My Perfect Colour

Hello, this is a very special colour to me. There's no sentimental reason or anything, it's just the colour. I've been looking for this colour for almost a year. Maybe for others it's the easier nail polish colour to find but seriously. I. Could. Not. Find. It. The shade colour just be wrong. I'm very anal when it comes to these things. It's called a perfect colour for a reason.

(I thought my pictures would be too crappy to post but it ended up pretty colour accurate so it's all good ;))

Oh my. It's perfect. My perfect colour is a light Tiffany blue or robin's egg blue (reminds me for Owl City's song "Brielle":)) and probably it has loads of other names but the names above are the ones I refer it to as. I've seen so many variations. But. They. Are. Not. This. Correct. Shade. See all the others shades were WRONG. Eg China Glaze - For Audrey (and really that should've been right, I personally think it's not the bright Tiffany blue but it's still nice), OPI - Mermaid Tears, Essie - Turquoise and Caicos etc. The list goes on.

Well I should actually write what it is and its The Face Shop - GR501. I have been loving The Face Shop polishes, inexpensive, really good quality and great colours. Also it's clearly not green so the GR is not needed.

Without saying it's my favourite nail polish and hopefully it will be that way for a while. Sometimes I just look at it and think "OH MY GOODNESS IT'S SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL". It also gives a sense of achievement from finding the colour (which it really shouldn't, now finding a nail polish is an achievement :/), when I first saw the colour I had a feeling it would be perfect. I was just hoping application would be good, and it was 2 coats for full opacity, I did 3 for luck and I did an extra coat before the photos becuase it was mildly chipped (5 days without topcoat :)). Just one more, IT'S PERFECT!!!!! :D
