Bright Butterfly Nail Art

Hello there!! Today's nail art was one of uncertainty, not like butterflies are overly crazy but I didn't know how this one would turn out. They're my standard cute animal design but I didn't know how well it would work with butterflies. But go being pleasantly surprised cause I ended up really liking this one!! :)

It's the bright colours isn't it? That always makes me a happy bunny. But honestly I think the butterflies are pretty cute. The wing pattern isn't exactly inspired but I like simplicity sometimes. I wanted to let the glitter shine cause bright colours!! I think I like the butterfly on my ring finger the best. See my thumb? I used the glitter as antennae, smart ideas from PlumeriaPainted :P

This was a toothpick design and it was extremely random. The colours of the wings and antennae were ones that went with the flow of whatever colour I was using.

Base: Rimmel - Misty Jade and Glam Polish - Mars Attacks!
Teal: Barry M - Guava
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Barry M - Matt White

Dusty Pink: OPI - Japanese Rose Garden

Dark Purple: OPI - Plum & Get It

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day!!! :)

Lilly Pulitzer Butterfly Nails

Hello there guys!! Happy almost April oh my goodness that is terrifying how did this happen?? I have some scary exams coming up but keeping a cool head and working hard is key. Now I just have to work hard... Haha well anyway I was looking up some pictures on Google and I came across this Lilly Pulitzer Butterfly design and I loved it, also I just happened to have a blue base so this had to be done.

Ok I LOVE this design!! All the colour and the blue (which looks spectacular with topcoat, that blue shimmer is just wow). Butterflies are cute, and I like that I went away from the wings (though I do really like those designs). I just think this is pretty and I like pretty things :) But yeah I think the wings of these butterflies are really sweet, and I didn't know what I was doing!! :P I definitely want to do more Lilly Pulitzer designs, they are so quirky and colourful so I love them!!

I started with a white base for the butterflies trying to make the wings different for each butterfly. Then I tried to put specific colours to each section but alas it looked weird with a white outline. Of course this called for me to add a black outline. It looked better but still weird. But the little white spots on the wings really saved it, they kind of combined the existing colours and in my humble opinion I think it looks awesome. I did have to do looks of little fixes of the wings and the body, but once fixed I loved it.

Blue base: Essie - Lots of Lux
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White (as base) and Barry M - Matt White (for spots)
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Red: Essie - E-Nuff Is E-Nuff
Sparkly Red: OPI - Jinx
Yellow: Ciate - Loop The Loop
Green: Max Factor - Cool Jade
Dark Green: OPI - Jade Is The New Black
Blue: Nails Inc - Baker Street
Pink: Barry M - Fuchsia

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!! :)

I'm a little butterfly

Hi there guys!! I hope you all are enjoying the weekend, the weather has been kind of crazy but I've been inside the whole time so not like that matters :P You probably don't get the reference in the title, I think we have established I am a big kid. So yes the reference is from the show "Austin and Ally" which is a kids show and I adore it. It's unbelievably cheesy but that makes me love it, I NEED to watch the next episode. I will not fangirl over a kids programme right now (but trust me, I have fangirled many a time in the past over this show) but the next episode will be particularly exciting. Oh yeah I have butterfly nail art :P

I did some butterfly wing nail art in my 31 day challenge (beware of lack of clean-up), those were quite nice. But I really like it this time, I was surprised with how much I liked the design. I couldn't stop staring, which is rare for me. Once again the white dots really make everything.

I started with 2 coats of OPI - Charged Up Cherry, you could totally get away with 1 coat if you have shorter nails. Now I'm kind of wishing I used a different shade of pink but whatever doesn't matter. Then I added some random blobs of Barry M - Pink Foil (Boots Xmas LE 2012 B) and OPI - Excuse Moi!. Finally to "seal" everything I used 1 coat of OPI - I Lily Love You. It wasn't completely dry when I began to draw with my black pen (Lovely Me:Ex - Black) but it didn't affect anything. It's all about making your segments even, and of course the white dots (Lovely Me:Ex - White).

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!!! :)
