The iPhone (Nail) Series: Cut The Rope

Hey you cool dude, I have another design based on a game. These are harder for me now cause even though I love how cute some games are I never play any!! I'm a busy gal (how many times have I said this -_-) and I don't have much time for mindless applications (but I definitely have time for mindless 3DS games haha, but not really, I'm not kidding when I say I don't have much time). But today we have a Cut The Rope design, I thought it was time cause I really wanted to do this one and I really like it.

Omnom is actually the cutest character (and name) and so he's my favourite. He's so cute!! I have normal (cute) him and (cute) eating him trying to eat the falling sweet. I just added glitter cause I didn't know what to do and I'm a big believer in glitter. I still thought it needed something else so I drew on the scissors and the cutting line.

For this design I used a white base for nearly everything and painted on top accordingly, first the colour with toothpicks and then the black outline. The teeth were difficult cause they were so small but just about managed to do them haha.
Honestly I never got into Cut the Rope even though the game is so me, Omnom alone justifies the whole game but I suppose I never really got how it worked (I only played it once, so that could've been the reason). My friends all really liked it, I'm pretty sure they did a sequel as well. Well you never know I totally could get into Cut the Rope, it does look pretty sweet.

Base: Chilli Pepper - Orange (no name), Rimmel - It's a Scorcher! (I was meant to do a gradient but the colours were so similar that I just painted over) and Essie - Shine of the Times
Green: Illamasqua - Nomad (I didn't have the colour shade but Nomad was a good shout)
White: Lovely Me:Ex - White and No.7 - Snowflake (the Barry M is not doing well)
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Red: M&S - Poppy
Beige (it's subtle): Nails Inc - Sao Paulo Streets
Brown: Paris Collection - Mauve Melody and w7 - Brownie
Glitter: Barry M - Superdrug Xmas LE 2012 B

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Candy Pizza Nail Art

Oh hey there guys!! Hope you are all doing well. Sorry for the big gap from the previous post to the one before that, I'm not going to be able to edit posts/pictures for the next week so I've been trying to prepare some posts. Today I have some nail art today, food nail art at that. This is a weird one though, I've had this idea brewing for a while but decided against it, then decided for it. So today I present candy pizza...

I have never had candy pizza before and I don't know if it's a thing. On another note if I saw candy pizza on the dessert menu I would order it up without a second thought. It's an interesting concept.
The only candy pizza I know of, is the mode in Club Penguin when I used to play. My cousin told me about the switch under the pizza machine that changed the pizza from regular to candy. I was a beast at that game, in regular mode I could complete it with the highest combo therefore getting the most money from it haha. The candy mode was much harder though, it was faster.
I like the little faces on the crust (i.e. my favourite part of a pizza, Pizza Hut crust is the best) and the piece of pizza on my thumb is my favourite (the neon glitter, nuff said). The design didn't really pan out (ah unintentional pun!!) the way I wanted it to, I don't know what it is. Design looks better in photos though and I'll take it.

Dark Pink: Color Club - Wing Fling
Blue/Green: Barry M - Greenberry
White: Barry M - Matt White and Lovely Me:Ex - White (for details)
Neon glitter: Lush Lacquer - Clowning Around
Still can't even (sorry for the abuse of this phrase), I love the mix of glitter on my nails. I fished for the big pink hex on my ring finger cause nothing is complete with a big pink hex. Does require a couple of coats of topcoat but I can deal with that as it is very much worth it.
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Even though it doesn't look like it, the black hearts did help a lot. Gave a bit more togetherness.
Pink: Orly - Basket Case
Brown: Ciate - Cookies And Cream
I got this free in a magazine with some caviar beads (clearly the only reason why I bought the magazine). I'll have to try this out on it's own but currently Nails Inc Porchester Square is far superior.
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire
Blue: Barry M - Blueberry Ice Cream
Mint Green: Max Factor - Cool Jade
Purple: Illamasqua - Jo'Mina (over Essie - Lilacism, I changed my mind)
Sealed with the Color Club topcoat. With no smudging (and Lovely Me:Ex - White is a smudging beast), this is a miracle topcoat.

Is candy pizza a thing? If you know please tell me as it does sound really good. I might do another look with normal pizza cause I love pizza (tell me which sane person doesn't like pizza). Thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day! :)

Jellyfishes + Sweets

Oh hey you cool dude!!! Welcome back. Hopefully your Monday hasn't been too bad. Basically I am the Queen of procrastination, NOTHING IS EVER GOING TO HAPPEN :/ Levels of procrastination are high. The nail art today is rather random. I wanted glitter (standard), I was like "OMG (to be said as one word) GLITTER GIMME!!!". I based the nail art off the names and the general feel of the glitter polishes.

I really like it. When painting I was extremely sceptical, especially before I'd painted the faces. It was not looking so hot. But I don't give up and if it looks bad I learn. But I find it weirdly works together, the colours work and generally it's pretty cute. I like the jellyfishes best.

I'll start with the jellyfishes and the sweets.
The pink jellyfish was put into existence with the brush of Orly - Basket Case and a toothpick. Same goes for the orange/peach jellyfish which was Essie - Tart Deco.
The blue sweet was Essie - Bikini So Teeny outlined with Kiko - 265, with the same painting methods as the jellyfishes. The green sweets was Illamasqua - Nomad and OPI - Jade Is The New Black. The purple sweet was Barry M - Berry Ice Cream and OPI - Plum And Get It.
Details for the eyes and mouths were Lovely Me:Ex - Black and White (as always).

And a picture of the bases by themselves, which I have Gimme Glitter posts for both. Want more pictures with more polish accuracy? Click the names of the corresponding polish.
I used 3 coats of Nails Inc - Sweets Way. The silver glitter looks white which makes me love this polish even more. I also really like the contrast between the 2 polishes, just in general I love contrasting things.
And 2/3 coats of Orly - Go Deeper over 2 coats of Revlon - Dreamer. You can make Go Deeper opaque by itself, but I didn't want to. I have to say Go Deeper is the bomb (I know no one says "the bomb" anymore but I don't like conforming to the norms of society!!! ;)), I feel like having it on this time has made me see the light. It's awesome!! The depth is gorgeous, the colour of the base is so nice and the glitter peaking out is whoazas!! It's slightly more green-toned in real life but my Gimme Glitter post has better pictures :)

Thanks for reading!!! I hope you have a great day!! :D

Candy Canes

Hello there, it's mid week in case you didn't know, I don't know what I'm saying. My brain is not working in an orderly fashion right now. I did some candy cane nails which I also did last year. Thank goodness I didn't take a picture of last year's cause it was pretty bad. I feel I've improved even if it isn't as neat as I like it.

They also look cooler from afar. I struggle with candy canes, I again couldn't be bothered with tape so extreme steady freehand lines were happening. I think I was relatively successful, but I'll tell you at one point they didn't look like candy canes at all and I almost had a fail on my hands (ahh pun, unintentional. Promise :P).
White: Models Own - Snow White and Nails Inc - Glamour Glitter
Red: OPI - Dutch Tulips (what else? ;))
Green: OPI - Jade Is The New Black
I tried to do an accent nail but it pretty much looked exactly the same as the other nails. The glitter is also slightly more prominent in real life. Even if they aren't that candy caneish, they are Christmasy.

Hope you all have wonderful day :)

Entry to Polish Art Addiction's contest

I call it Candy Flowers and Treats (cause I have to name everything I do ;))
I loved the theme to this contest (monochrome) and wanted to do a kind of twist on the traditional polka dots and roses (which is one of my favourite nail art things to do). So I did it in pink.

Since I'm on holiday I didn't have a pale pink with me and that was quite crucial in this design. Of course me being a genius (sarcasm, please don't take me seriously) I came up with a plan. I got No7 - Snowflake and layered OPI - I Lily Love You over it (and cause I love it :)). Hopefully that's ok, 4 coats was too much though, in real life it was hard to differentiate the roses and the background (thankfully only in some lighting).

Another issue was I had limited pinks so I borrowed one from my aunt. Topshop - Domestic Goddess, which in the bottle looked like a dusty rose. Once I put it on my nail I thought "It's brown", which really annoyed me. Slowly though throughout the day I kept looking at it and it became it's true dusty rose colour. This photo looks dusty rose thankfully, I found a really good lighting spot ^_^ I used that for the polka dots and the roses. I wasn't sure if it would go with The Face Shop - PK105 but I thought the combination was great.

One of my favourite things about this are the pink leaves, that was the reason I wanted to do this in pink, for pink leaves. It was also the background colour for the polka dots. It's OPI - Charged Up Cherry, I've only shown it with nail art on top currently. But again it's lovely.

Right hand picture, the only difference is that I used Charged Up Cherry to do lines on the roses, which did nothing, but I was experimenting.

Nice close up of my thumb, where I really like it basically, but sometimes the roses look really in depth, I noticed that when looking at it. Only sometimes though... :P
