Blue Nails: Essie - Bikini So Teeny

Hi guys, I hope you had a nice Easter if you celebrated :) I'd love to sit and complain about all the work I have but instead I should be hoping that I can get it all done and become an intelligent person, I have a month to get smart!! Nail polish might be the only thing keeping me sane. This is a pretty one here, one of my favourites actually. I included this in my 2012 favourites and yet I still haven't written a post about it crazily enough. I've fixed that though, I seriously love this polish I need to write about it more. But I'm not proud of my swatch, my cuticles are just not in good shape and I apologise.

Bikini So Teeny is such a gorgeous cornflower blue with a subtle silver shimmer which sometimes flashes green and purple. I have mad love for this polish, I've definitely used it a lot here. It leans more purple toned than most cornflower blues and it's so beautiful, it's not just me and blue polish.

This was from Essie's 2012 Summer collection, full of bright cremes which I'm always onboard with. I also have Fear Or Desire from that collection which I really like too. I got them from TK Maxx for obviously a great price, I think I was close to not buying but I had to and it was a great decision I made :P

2 coats is sufficient, perhaps 3 if you're doing thin coats, but the formula is very good. And as I've mentioned before the Essie brush is very nice for my nails.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day!! :)

Match Made In Heaven: Sprinkle Of Fairy

Hey there guise!!! Hope your enjoying this lovely day, for me it's making the most of what's left of my holiday. Which means "revising". But oh well. I haven't done one of these Match Made In Heaven posts in ages, so I have one here today. I'm using the picture I took a while ago, I should do this combination again soon though cause it's super pretty.

This was the base I fell in love with for my polar bear design. I used 2 coats of Essie - Bikini So Teeny, one of my favourite polishes. It's a cornflower blue with silver shimmer and it's gorgeous.
I continued with 1 coat of Models Own - Indian Ocean. I think it was intended to be a duochrome but it's not really, still pretty though. It's more a blue/purple shimmer kind of thing.
I added one coat of Barry M - Silver Glitter, it was limited edition Christmas 2011, but it's your standard silver glitter, but it's really dense.
I think what really pulled the combination together is that 1 coat of Barry M - Pink Iridescent. The base is tinted pink but it really doesn't show, it might as well be clear. Pink Iridescent is difficult to remove, you wouldn't think it (maybe) but tough scrubbing is required or the tin foil method.  I found with the glitter on top of Indian Ocean it brings out the purple in Indian Ocean whilst still showing the blue. It's pwetty :3

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!! :)

Top 10 Nail Polishes Of 2012: Part 1

Hello there wonderful people. I have my top 10 polishes of last year, I am very excitement. I'm a bit later than everyone else but not too late!! :P I love lists (that makes me sound like a freak :P) and favourites so this is perfect for me. These aren't all polishes that came out in 2012, but I know a lot of them did. These are all polishes that I love, and find myself using them over and over. I'm going to do this in 3 parts, from 10 to 1, which is a bit random but I want to give some love to these nail polishes :)

10. Barry M - Hologram Hexograms. A clear base with lots of hexagonal pieces of holographic glitter. I adored holographic glitter, I really do. I find this polish enhances manicures, whatever the design, polka dots, flowers, galaxies etc. It makes it better. Since it would be pretty redundant to do a swatch of this, I have some pictures of this polish in action :P

31 Day Challenge - Half Moons
Hello Kitty Gone Wild

9. Barry M - Indigo. A dark blue/indigo creme (kind of). It's one of my favourite layering polishes. I used 2 coats, my bottle is well-loved so there's little left so it wasn't completely smooth for me. Sorry for the crappy picture, I got 1 picture on my camera (which was SO colour inaccurate) and then my camera died. My phone ended up being the saviour but it's not very good quality but colour accurate (I'll probably re-swatch this another time).

I used Indigo in my favourite layering combo

8. Barry M - Blue Moon. Yeah bit of a Barry M party. Blue Moon is a pale blue with blue shimmer. I love that blue shimmer which I find really difficult to photograph. It was my first favourite polish, then I found another ton of polishes but it still has my heart :P

7. Essie - Bikini So Teeny. A relatively new addition to my collection but I love this colour. A cornflower blue with silver/blue/purple-ish shimmer. I felt bad about adding this in as I feel I'm betraying Revlon - Dreamer, but this is such a pretty colour, it has a more purple tone compared to Dreamer. I don't know if my bottle is different to other people's but everyone's swatches look lighter to mine, but oh well. The colour is still lovely. I used 2 coats here.

Well that was rambly, and consisted of a lot of blues. I hope you enjoyed this post (despite the ramblings). I shall be posting part 2 and 3 soon (full of polishes I love even more than these :)) and I'm very excited. Hope you all are having a lovely day :)

Combo: Blueberry Pizza

Hello there. Hope you are having a lovely Thursday. I'm dreading school frankly. But, CHRISTMAS OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! I am excited :P Well here I have a little combo made from some new polishes, I will call them birthday/exams polishes (and I really like them :)).

I started with 2 coats of Essie - Bikini So Teeny, I'm a fan. It's a periwinkle shade? Except I found my bottle to be much darker than pictures I've seen of it, but it still has the super pretty shimmer in it so I'm happy. TK Maxx is beast. Then 4 coats (to build up glitter, it will probably build better once I use it more) of Models Own - Freak Out! from the Mirrorball collection. It's very indie-esque, there's light blue shards and bar glitter, dark blue circle glitter and small circle purple glitter. It smells bad like most Models Own polishes, but it something you can get over. And finally I used a matte topcoat. Oh excitement, I love matte nails. At first I didn't really get matte nails, but one day I decided I love matte nails. It's Rimmel Pro - Matte Finish. When I first put it on I was like "Why isn't it mattifying!!???", but couple seconds later everything was alright. I was planning on investing in the essie matte topcoat, but the Rimmel one was far cheaper and I reckoned they'd pretty much be exactly the same. Oh manicures will be made matte ;)
