The totally doable I have a life challenge! - Tropical beach

Hey there my cool dudes!! I guess I'm just gonna take my time posting this challenge, but hopefully I'll get most of it up this month. I hope you're having a really nice time right now. Tomorrow is a kind of scary day as I'm getting my results to the exams I did. Haven't really been thinking about it but hopefully it will be ok?
Anyway today's prompt was tropical and of course you know what else goes together like tropical and beaches? Nothing, that's what.

I decided I wanted to challenge myself instead of doing something I do all the time. I want to push myself ya'know. So I decided to paint a nice beach scene, with artsy elements? I tried to do fancy sand and fancy water and I really happy with how it turned out. I think the palm trees look cool and you know I like that starfish.
I wanted a sunset sky, which I was wary of but I think in the end in worked out. Honestly I was a bit wary of the whole design but yay it worked!

So the gradient was done with a sponge, I had some yellow too but that got covered up by the sea. After the base I did the sand where I did lots of little strokes and dots with my toothpicks. For the sea and the leaves of the palm trees I used a similar method by doing lots of fast strokes of the toothpick.
For other beachy elements I just got the toothpicks and painted them. I changed my mind for he colours of many things; the heart of the towel was changed too many times.
Also fun fact, I originally had a bucket on my index finger but it was such a fail that I scraped it off (professional me) and just painted the sea and sand over again. It was a good move though, that bucket was a mess.

Tropical Floral Nails

Oh hey guys!! My. Exams. Are. Over. You guys don't even know the weight lifted off of me, I can do some proper nail art now!! And yeah I went shopping so expect some pretty polishes. It's also my blogaversary tomorrow so expect a funky post then. I'm happy to be back with some nail art (I did this a while ago), I love florals but I'm just not the best at them. I'll always strive to get better. This manicure was inspired by Samarium's Swatches (I love her blog so much), there was a nail art design on her instagram and I loved it so much I had to create it (with a few changes).

It's just so fun and summer-y, it makes me happy cause skies aren't grey. I <3 the colour combo, it's nothing groundbreaking, but sometimes it doesn't have to be. Pink, orange and yellow flowers are so nice!! It also has a more wiggley and squiggley (that's quite the description) feel, and I like it!! Oh yeah also it's neon too, so obviously it has my heart.

So I did ma base, added some glitter. I started with a white base then I used the brushes of the polishes and dabbed on various colours, I actually mean dab this time. I had very little polish on the brush then I dabbed. I did the same kind of thing for the leaves but there was only 1 colour so I used a toothpick.

Base: Revlon - Blue Lagoon, Topshop - Green Room and Topshop - Razzmatazz (this may not have been the best idea but I needed glitter)
Pink: Nails Inc - Notting Hill Gate (it blended perfectly for this)
Orange: Rimmel - It's A Scorcher!, Bourjois - Tangerine Fatal and Models Own - Beach Party
Yellow: Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream
Green: China Glaze - I'm With The Lifeguard
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White base: Lovely Me:Ex - White

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a really lovely day!! :)

Tropical Flowers + Delicate Base

Why hello there you lovely one!! I have nail art today!! Yay!! I had planned pink and yellow flowers but it ended up a bit differently. Floral nail art is some of my favourite and I rather like this one.

The yellow kind of got covered up. But I still like this, the orange and pink are nice together. Originally when I'd finished the design I was not a fan which led me to be irritated. Thankfully after wearing it for a day I grew to really like it. I love flowers!! And when they're in bright colours, flowers can do no wrong.

Base: Barry M - Prickly Pear and OPI - Pirouette My Whistle
Pink: Barry M - Fuchsia
Orange: Essie - Fear Or Desire
Yellow: Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream
The gradient before I added the detail was really nice and I was thinking of not adding the detail. But then it wouldn't have been complete. I'm glad I added the detail but it's a shame that yellow got covered up.
Green: Illamasqua - Nomad
Black: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
White: Lovely Me:Ex - Black
Darn macro for showing every flaw, I really didn't realize the white was stringing (if you get what I mean). In real life it's not there. I don't think it takes away too much though.

When I'd first finished the design the thing that I didn't like was how disconnected the bright flowers looked compared with the soft background. I thought I should've used a brighter colour. I did grow to like the delicate base as it makes the flowers stand out more but it shows how crucial base colour is.

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!!! :D
